Anyone else waiting for an iGlaze Moshi case for the MBP 14" like i am? I am still looking for an alternative since their Twitter mentions that they have plans on releasing accessories for newer MBPs, but no date as of now.

I am looking for a MBP 14' 2021 sleeve that would be:
- vertical
- as slim as possible (no padding etc)
- snug fit (no extra width).
Any first hand recommendations? Etsy cases seem to be not snug (extra width etc). Some other cases mentioned here are padded for extra protection so they are more bulky than what I want.

I am looking at https://jolioriginals.com/products/smooth-macbook and https://www.woolnut.com/shop/laptops/mbpro14/mb-pro-14-cognac/ but I would love some cheaper options. Of course I like leather :) but nylon/faux leather are totally ok for me as well.
Thanks for your ideas folks!

Just got the hard shell case from Incase. It definitely feels much better protected than the plastic ones that showed up on Amazon in the beginning. It adds a lot of weight though!

Thanks for your photos. The back edge is still exposed like other hard cases, I guess there is just not enough space to cover it when the screen is flipped open. I wish there are more design choices other than the three boring - clear, black and pink

I went ahead and ordered the tech21 case and that seems to be the closest to the moshi iglaze. It is also is made of TPU which the iglaze lacks, though the latter had scratch resistant/crack proof plastic. I couldn’t wait for the Moshi and the ibenzer is just not working for me. I’ve used tech 21 iPhone cases in the past successfully, so hopefully the same thing can be said about their MacBook cases. They are very expensive though. I’ll report back when I get it.

I decided to cave on the Tech21 evo. It’s the closest case to Moshi. I loved the iglaze for my 2019 16”, but I just couldn’t wait. See my latest post. I emailed them a couple of months ago and they claimed it would be a March release. I don’t see that happening now.

Looks like some better hard shell cases are finally starting to become available. I’m on #3 of the “first cut” of cases, but these upcoming ones look like much better quality and protection.

Are the insides of the case made of a softer plastic? Do you think the case could possibly scratch the MBP?
Ive had mine on for about a week now and it doesn't feel like its gonna scratch the surface of the MacBook.Plus the clips are really small so taking it off isn't too much of a hassle and you don't feel like its causing any damage to the edges.

Here's the inside of the case. Just hard plastic with the textured dots

Are you UK based? If so there are two companies here which make leather sleeves which are custom made to fit, one is Ryan London and the other is Harber London, I think both ship internationally too.

Can anyone confirm if the new redesigned MBP’s keyboard scratches the screen when closed? I have usually put a thin microfibre cloth over the keys before closing the lid, but I am not sure whether to bother as I have heard horror stories of peoples displays getting damaged due to the Mac not closing properly etc…

I had the Incase dots on my 14 pro and it made it too heavy so returned, also if you picked the mac up one handed ypu could feel it coming loose, would avoid it to be honest not worth double the money against the cheap alternatives.

I have tried a stone skin on a previous 14 which looked amazing but the mac went faulty and was a nightmare to remove as shards of stone flew everywhere and sctratched the logo.

So I have just ordered the Leather skin as I only want scratch resistance not drop resistance, if I was going for drop resistance I would go tech 21 all day long, as I have used them on phones but don;t want the extra weight

Okay, I got the tech 21 evo tint for the M1 Max 16. Overall, I think it’s really good. It seems more durable than moshi and more like a tech 21 product. That being said, it’s not flawless. My main annoyance is that it has a strange lid cover. Unlike other brands like Moshi there are some clips on the side(by the ports). Therefore, there’s a little bit of a gap to the point where it almost looks like it wasn’t installed properly. I don’t think this is a deal breaker and i refuse to wait for the Iglaze. Also, this protects all the corners against bumps which is lacking from the other brands. I’ll have pics soon.

dBrand also have leather skins at a fairly reasonable price. I ordered the black skin for my 16” M1 Pro.

Anyone know if the clear tech 21 case would fit over a skin like fish skin or dbrand… or if it would be too thick toallow the case to fit right on one of the new MacBook pros
