In a van down by the river
I received my blue canvas Waterfield bag with shoulder strap today. I was pleasantly surprised at the rugged build quality. It is heavier than I expected, which isn't a bad thing. It looks like it will keep the M2 safe.

Handsome sleeve. I love Waterfield bags.

I recently purchased a Leather Folio Case from Harber London. Nothing but praise - expensive (£90) but a lovely treat. Fits perfectly not being too tight or too loose. Ideal for taking to meetings and making me look somewhat more respectable... Well, it beats having something that looks like the offcuts of a wetsuit!

I just ordered Mission Leather sleeve for my M1 Pro 14. It seems a well made leather sleeve for the MacBook. There are a few designs to pick from. The price might be on a high side.

Why are there so many sleeves and so far no actual decent hard shell cases???? I feel like most case manufacturers have given up on these new MacBook Pros.

I'm really pleased with my Incase Dot hardshells. I have the clear for my 16" and the black for my 14". They both look really nice and don't add a ton of bulk to the computer. I don't see any cracks at any of the bends yet either.

Ordered the Mission Leather Case in Desert for my 16" MBP, can't wait to get it. It made sense since it is made right here in Dallas.

I'm still waiting for my order for the 14" MBP. I just sent out email asking for the status. Hopefully it will be made and shipped soon.

Mine just arrived today slighty after their approximate date. They are slow to return emails but make a great product.

I’ve seen a few people ask if the buttons rub against the MBP and I knew Mission Leather had a liner but should express better that their liner makes it so there is no rubbing as you can see in the pics.

Gorgeous case, I had it personalized as well. Very nice.

Has anyone used the Toastmade skin? It's expensive and generally, I don't like/use skins, but finding something that covers the palm rests near the trackpad is challenging.

That's a nice color. I got mine today.

Edited: adding photos.

Hello all!

What backpacks do you use for everyday transportation for your MacBook/work/college.

Since I started my study beginning of this year and I need to carry my laptop to college and everyday to work.
I bought a XD design Bobby xl

It was the worst purchase backpack wise ever for me. It was big and clumsy (sleek design fooled me) and after 3 months of struggling to like it, I sold it.

I used my trustworthy old Herschel little America 25 liter.
Awesome bag and I absolutely love it. But the simple concept is too simple with only 1 large compartment, a front pocket and a beautiful laptop section.
The straps are always in the way and the lack of a bottle holder and easy access for my keys or something
And when I rode in heavy heavy rain today, some items that were on the bottom were a little moist. I was on the bike and probably water was splashing under it and I put it on the wet floor for a moment.
Still a great backpack for other purposes.

Before I always used dakine back packs, but they always look too much like a square box when loaded with my things.

Decided to try a brand I always saw in recommendations but never tried myself. https://www.thule.com/nl-nl/backpacks/laptop-backpacks/thule-construct-backpack-24l-_-3204167

Looks like a good choice with a bottle holder and some easy access pockets.
The front section with jacket holder also looks good, so I don’t have to put my jacket under my arm straps.

A good laptop section is welcome, but I always put my mbp m1 13 in an awesome incase icon sleeve.

Not sure of your budget but I use this for work and they have a solid lifetime guarantee: EVERKI

https://www.everki.com/us_en/

I use it for my 14" laptop and IPAD Mini. It folds apart for TSA so you do not have to remove your laptops if needed. It has lots of storage.

https://www.everki.com/us_en/atlas-...-inch-to-15-6-inch-adaptable-compartment.html

I am thinking you may be located in Europe and if so I hope you can consider, take a look and find a re-seller. In the US they are also available on Amazon.

Hi! Does anyone have suggestions for a sleeve with space to carry the charger? Or is that not a thing?

It's for a 2020 M1 MBP 13".
I see them with my classmates. Mostly caselogic brand.

Personally I wouldn’t feel comfortable with this big charging brick crammed above the thin MacBook.

But hell I see them throw the sleeve with MacBook on the table and everything is oke.

I was kind of thinking that. Incase has one I was looking at with a pocket but I was worried about it damaging the MacBook. And the battery life on the new MacBooks are really good so if I'm using it for something small, I wouldn't need to carry one with me.

Maybe I just need good brands to look up? I've looked at Incase, Samsonite, and Brenthaven (I've used their bags before). There's just so many to choose from.

I use an Incase Icon for my 2020 m1 pro. Started a new study this year with one full day of physical classes.
Powering up at 8:30 in the morning and using it till 17:30 in the afternoon. Not counting 2,5 hours where we don't use laptops.

Making presentations and other things on it all day with microsoft office i go home with about 75% left.
On a heavy day it was around 50% but that was an exception.
Anyway i never take my charger with me.
Sometimes i play a couple of hours of Diablo III in my bed on the macbook, after 3 hours i got 55% left, thats a whole different story.

Bought the macbook in June, so the battery is still brand new on 100%

To come back on topic, when the day comes i decide to take it, i will just throw it in my bag. It doesn't fit in the Icon sleeve anyway, if it did it would not fit in the laptop compartment (yes i am that guy with a sleeve in his laptop compartment 😝)

I was looking at that one! The only thing I didn't like is the "chin" or whatever on the opening. It just seems like a little extra bulk.

I'm going to Apple tomorrow and I'll check it out in person. I had an older Incase sleeve somewhere but can't remember if I gave it away or threw it in the closet.

Curious... is Diablo III's play similar to Diablo II's?

$4299 (instant savings of $600) B&H Photo

I am doing a triple layer of protection for me.

I start out with this:
1.) < That dresses it up nice… graphite grey is what I went with. Check out the install video… easy to install and makes the unit look really good… one could even do real leather if they wanted! They have dozens of colors and styles!

Then I have this:
2.) < Heavy Duty Rugged Hard Shell Case Cover with TPU Bumper for MacBook Pro 16" M1 Pro / Max Chip with Touch ID, Clear

And then for when I am on the move, I have this:
3.) < tomtoc 360 Protective Laptop Shoulder Bag Designed for 16-inch New MacBook Pro M1 Pro/ Max A2485 A2141 2021-2019, Water-Resistant Well-Organized Accessory Sleeve Case with Handle, Cordura Fabric

I think i am covered and in style… i figure if i am spending that kind of money I will spend a little more and protect it the best I can. I do that with all my Apple devices… my M1 iPad Pro - 2021 i have a magic keyboard compatible case on it for extra protection; and my iPhone 13 Mini has the Otterbox Defender XL w/MagSafe… the iDevices have screen protectors too… overkill? Perhaps, but these devices cost a lot of money and i want them to last. My last iPhone was a 4s that had the otterbox defender case on it… i had to replace the case one time during its life span as the rubber started to degrade… and when i retired the 4s the 2nd case was roached but the iPhone, it was still in pristine condition. The protection is absolutely worth it IMHO… i also do the Apple Care, and to date have never had to use it, and i hope I don’t with my latest batch of devices. I have the Apple TV and also a iPod mini too… no protection or Apple Care on those… on the Airpods Pro I have Apple Care and a protective skin/case - from the same place and style as i got for the Laptop… worth it!!

it’s a good combination of slim+protection. I bought it in a sale so I think I got an old version or something. But it doesn’t add a lot of bulk.

Diablo III is flashier and faster than Diablo II. I actually install old Diablo II on parallels because we don’t have the remake :(.
And it hates to say this as an old time d2 fan, d2 classic is didn’t stand the test of time for me.
