couple questions on Speck hardshell:
1. How often do you guys clean out the dust in your cases?
2. Since you're taking it on and off constantly, have you guys had any problems with the clip breaking or even scratching the macbook while doing it?
a. Would you say that would be something covered under Speck's warranty?

Just got mine over the weekend along with the Booq Mamba sleeve (hopefully that helps with the amount of debris accumulating in between.

i dont think dust would get trapped under there, even if there was, isnt' there enough room for aircan to be sprayed between the shell instead of removing the whole thing?

again, i doubt removing to clean is needed anyways.

For those who have ordered through speck website, how many days was shipping?
There's only one option "US Postal Service" but doesn't tell me how many days. I wish they had overnight!

Mine took 3 days I believe... I think it ships from OK if that matters.

TX, but it was shipped on a Friday, so it was probably idle most of the weekend. It's being sent Priority mail, so it should be 2-3 days to most locations.

Anyone have any idea when the rmbp speck cases will become available on amazon.com?

Someone asked this same question on their Facebook page (see attachements)... It's not coming to Amazon as it's an "Apple Exclusive". Sounds like it wont be available at other retailers either.

I found something interesting while I was browsing around Amazon. It appears Amazon has a listing for a STM Bags shell case for the rMBP. A google search found it listed at a few other sites (Macmall being one), but none appeared to have it available for order. However, further googling did turn up a couple stores that claim to have them in stock, but they were all Australian stores.

STM Bags Grip for Macbook Pro w/Retina Display

http://www.amazon.com/STM-Hardshell-Minimalist-15-Inch-122-010P-01/dp/B008RJU1MI/ref=sr_1_79?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1348635689&sr=1-79&keywords=retina+macbook

Maybe something worth keeping an eye out for, especially if you live in Australia.

Can anyone recommend a simple sleeve for the Retina Macbook Pro?

I just want a simple black, maybe with a little bit of grey at some areas, but nothing fancy. I looked at the Incase Terra sleeve that looks to be popular here, but the pattern/design (not solid/jean-ish look) is what takes me away.

I don't want anything extra on it, just a zipper to open up the sleeve and put the Macbook Pro in. For color, just solid, preferably dark/black, without a design/pattern/anything of the sort.

I might be using a hard shell case with it too.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thank you.

I love Colcasac sleeves. I have one for my iPad and MBPr. I don't know if the style is to everyone's tastes but they are simple and protect well. http://www.colcasac.com/macbook-sleeve/

No zipper, but otherwise sounds like what you are asking for.

Keep in mind that Speck is a small company compared to that of Amazon or Newegg and this product has been going out of stock as soon as it's becoming available. Throw in the addition of iPhone 5 case orders, it should be expected that there would be a slight delay and IMO I would hardly call 48hrs a delay.

I already have the clear case and placed an order for the Satin black case on 9/23, it was shipped on 9/25, and I received it Today (9/27).

I don't see it on the U.S. Apple.com site.
B&M has it for sure?

For some reason it's not on the site yet, but has been reported as being sold in stores. As far as if it's at a particular store for sure... You'd have to ask that store.

Just got Speck black satin case and fits with wrapsol skin already on my rMBP

How do you like that combo? Was thinking about getting the same one...

----------

This is the case I got...

http://picasolab.com/store/

It's pretty nice. Adding your name adds a nice touch and it feels extremely high quality. Only thing is it doesn't completely close- there's always that open side on the top. Great if you carry it in a bag with it on, and also it's a great surface to put your laptop on top of so you don't scratch the bottom. Guy that makes them hand-crafts every single one, and he works really hard to get you the case you want. If you're into the style, I would suggest one. I got the black/red combo :)

Only thing is I wish the leather he used was a bit thicker, it has a floppy-feeling when the laptop isn't inside of it.

Love it since dust can't get in and scratch the rMBP. On MBA dust would scratch the computer with speck hard case. Wrapsol skin is thin enough to not affect fitment. I am able to snap case on with no issues:D
