really?how did you come to this conclusion?? think about it are scratches more apparent on black cars or white ones?how about dust?
the only thing which is going to be less noticeable on the satin one compared to the clear one is probably smeared nutella...

Dont know why any of you buy plastic cases to "protect" your rMBP.

They either show scratches, or fingerprints. They certainly only protect from body scratches and they are ridiculously priced.

Anyone have any experience with Herschel Supply co. ?

I was at the local apple store and saw this bag in green camo, it was gorgeous.

Can't find it in the same color camo online anywhere (only desert camo which doesn't look half as nice), but I might just go back to the apple store and pick it up. They only had one left in the camo color way. I really liked how it was fleece lined, really soft. I don't really need a sleeve for durability as much as i do for simple reliability.. I just want a sleeve to put my macbook pro in when I am not using it, to keep safe on my desk or around the house and rarely if ever traveling once in a blue moon.

Thoughts ?

Beautiful quality stuff, recommended. Not sure how the fit will be for the rMBP though.

Just received my Speck Satin rMBP case. It fits great and luckily it also fits in with my Booq rMBP Mamba Sleeve! It's a snug fit but it fits without any difficulty when zipping it up the sleeve. Just a side note though- my speck case did come with some small but visible scratches already on the lid upon arrival so don't be surprised if that happens to you as well.

my wife had this issue with a speck satin case I bought online for her it's also slightly loose in the middle of the top part. I personally don't like hard cases but she wanted purple...
I'm going to buy the suede case posted above, I really like the simplicity of it and after all who doesn't like the feeling of suede?

What color is that Incase Terra Sleeve? It looks somewhat like the blue denim one but I can't tell.

Actually I can't tell you, I can't seem to find it online anywhere or Incases website. I think it's part of the Heathered collection maybe?

I found mine at the Apple Store.

Tom Bihn Vertical Braincell

Well after much reading and research, I've decided to purchase a Brain Cell to protect my MBP. Its quite well constructed with my laptop resting in a foam cradle while protected on all sides by hard plastic. It also has several pockets for your poweradapter and pens as well as belt loops for a strap. The downside with all its foam/plastic awesomness is how its quite large causing it to not fit in smaller backpacks. It also is a bit pricey at $70 with shipping/handling. Cons aside, I would highly recommend it to people who want to keep their shiny laptop safe.

note: if you plan to purchase, make sure chose the retina specific size or it'll be too thick.

I like the memory foam idea. However I'm going with this version from EBay the sides are memory foam. I think its smaller than this image shows.

My problem is I can't decide. I like the idea of this shell too.
It says it has crumple zones to absorb drops.

And then there is the well known and proven Thule!

Then another curve I found was the Booq Squeez.

last and very interesting is the Timbuk2 bag/sleeve it has memory foam which is honeycombed to allow you Macbook to cool off? It also has a little hand strap on the Side to secure it as you carry it around; I like that feature.

You gotta see the video -- YouTube It make me laugh.

I just got home from my vacation and my new incase terra sleeve was at my door step! I am now mad I bought the booq mamba sleeve as my first sleeve. At the moment I don't have a hard case for my laptop, and now that I have this sleeve and tested it, I may not get one. It fits the rMBP perfectly. There is enough room in it where it won't damage anything, but not too much where it will slide around. It is also very convenient for anyone, like me, who carries there laptop around in a backpack. I have the North Face surge backpack, and to be able to slide my rMBP into the terra sleeve, then slide the sleeve into the laptop compartment without having to take back out the sleeve during school is very nice. If anyone is just looking for a sleeve for their rMBP this is the one to get! Now I'll need to see if I can either return the booq mamba, if not I'll have to just throw it away. I'm not going to sell someone a sleeve that will damage their laptop.

Thank you! I'll look around. I like yours than the other ones I've seen on their website.

How are you liking the Speck Smartshell so far?

The Speck Smartshell is great! I feel when I move my Macbook from room to room I have a better grip without having to worry about anything potentially scratching the outside surface of it :)

It does get a little toasty from time to time but thats the price to pay to protect your macbook with a plastic shell :)

See now this I find really annoying. Incase already has several cases for the iphone5 on pre-order, and the damn thing isn't even out yet. But the RMBP has been out for a few months already and no specific case made for it. Cases even before sales begin of a product that costs $500 (depending) and no cases for a $3000 (also depending) product that's been out for a pretty good time. IMO Incase isn't putting enough effort where they should.

As much as I would like to see a rMBP case from Incase... They will probably make much more money from an iPhone case.

Basic economics they make most of there money off iphone cases;). rMBP cases are not as high priory plus the vents make engineering them a little bit more complex.

I just got back from the apple store where they had told me speck had recalled their smart shell cases for the rMBP.

Does anyone have any information on this?

InCase wouldn't be the first company to stop making beautiful MacBook Pro cases and only release iPhone cases.

No doubt it's about the money.
