I purchased the blue Incase Terra Sleeve for my rMBP and it was delivered today- I LOVE IT! :D It fits really well (not TOO tight, so when I get a hard shell case it will fit fine!) and I am not really afraid of it scratching (zipper) because of the protective flap. It's very chic and sleek :) ;):rolleyes::D

HELP
WOULD IT BE BETTER TO BUY a Best Skin Ever full body clear cover?
http://www.bestskinsever.com/macbook-pro-15-inch-with-retina-display-2012-model-skin
OR should I stick with hard shell cases (Kuzy/Speck)?

Defectkion how did you get the speck so quick.

I went to both apple stores in my area, the first one had no clue what i was talking about, the second store said it would be a while before they get them in, she mentioned months. I have a feeling she has no clue what she is talking about either.

I guess I got lucky that one of the Apple stores in Edmonton had them lol.

I wonder if its even worth upgrading from the kuzy case i currently have.
Its been actually pretty good.
Only problem i see with it is the edge which could of been finished better.

If you got some cash to burn why not? The speck one feels nice, fitment is good, and it's all black (even the rubber feet) and the 1 year warranty is nice.

Can you take a pic of the case where your forearms rest when typing (the edge of the case). Thats the part where the Kuzy case is just not properly finished.

I think if I get one I will go with the clear one.

Well defektion you convinced me lol. Going to order a Satin Speck case as soon as they have more in stock. So far none of the Apple stores near me have them but I hope the online ordering comes back soon. I want to get this before the end of the month!! lol

Thinking of getting one of these Speck cases for my retina mbp but wouldn't heat be an issue with any casing added to them? The black rubber or clear plastic one seem like materials that would not dissipate the heat very well. Any comments? Thinking of just ordering the clear one since the black is out of stock already.

You are right, as having a case will probably not dissipate the heat that well and the plastic will act almost like an insulator but luckily it still has the vents on the side to let some of the heat out. However Do you want a dented/scratched macbook? or maybe one that shows a few degrees higher than normal?

I got a Joli sleeve and its magnificent looking. The pictures posted earlier in the thread and the ones on the website don't do them justice. It fits great.

True. I think I will hold for the black one when they are available again since the scratches would probably show right away in the plastic clear version. From the previous pictures, the hardshell looks great.

Speck smartshell

So I've decided to get the SPECK SMARTSHELL for rMBP.
I just need to decide
CLEAR or SATIN (BLACK)
I saw pictures if the black satin, anyone have the clear one to post pics of?
I wish there were a clear version that had the rubberized feel

defektion, thanks for the pictures.

That definitely looks 100 times better than the kuzy. Going to get a clear one when they become available in my local apple stores.

Thanks again.

Me too; I'm sticking with my rubberized clear Kuzy case until Incase comes out with their clear satin version.

really?how did you come to this conclusion?? think about it are scratches more apparent on black cars or white ones?how about dust?
the only thing which is going to be less noticeable on the satin one compared to the clear one is probably smeared nutella...

Scratches are more apparent on glossy finishes versus matte/satin ones. I've tried both and this is fact. Since Speck doesn't offer a satin clear case, it's either the black one or nothing if satin is what you're after.

I agree with kfscoll, I haven't tried both, but my friend had a glossy clear case on his MBP and I had a satin black on my old MBP. After 4 years the black looked a lot better then the clear. The glossy clear shows a lot more wear over time including scuffs and scratches. Mine still looked like it was brand new. The only real damage was on the bottom of the laptop (the 4 pegs being almost worn down) because I have used it for 4 years lol. You can't think of it as a black vs white car. You need to think of it as a black glossy car and a flat black matte car. Glossy cars will always show more damage and scratches but matte/flat will always look cleaner just because you don't have a reflective light bouncing off the scratches making them stand out as much. IMO satin or nothing.
