I've said it before but that corrected grain 'leather' looks really cheap.

Its a great looking sleeve and the fit seems great. I do agree that the leather looks subpar.

What the heck is corrected grain. Looks wise the Joli looks great. My beefs are limited protection and cost.

You weren't kidding. The sleeve is 99.00 EUR. Hell, the ipad sleeve is 44.00EUR. WAY to evpensive for what it is.

what lower end/cheap cases/bags are acceptable? I spent all my money on the macbook so i cant spend much on a case but would like something to put it in. i saw some 20 dollar sleeves on amazon, are those crap?

a plastic grocery bag would probably be your best bet.

Hahaha! Check out the Incase range for non-retina-speicifc sleeves or the Colcasac range for retina specific sleeves. Booq mamba slim sleeve is also nice and retina specific.

I think that any case that has zipper protection and is padded enough would suffice. I carry my MBPr in a Booq Mamba sleeve that sits inside the laptop sleeve in my messenger bag (Fossil canvas bag). It probably wouldn't survive a toss down the stairs, but that's not what I expect it to do either.

For what it's worth, I was in a really bad carwreck back in 2007. I had my Macbook inside a thicker than average neoprene sleeve (brand unknown) that I got at the Apple store. It was inside a messenger bag with a bunch of textbooks. I was t-boned by a pickup at 45 mph, and the messenger bag was thrown against the dashboard, and then dropped to the floor. My Macbook was unharmed somehow, though I was pretty beat up myself. I would just look for any thick neoprene sleeve that doesn't expose the zipper too much and you'll be good.

I bought a $10 Incase sleeve made for cMBP 15 to fit my rMBP from a local TJ Maxx. Where I live in NC, there are few different choices of good quality Incase sleeves made for cMBP for fairly cheap price at Marshall's TJ Maxx's. It's not a perfect fit, but acceptable for the price paid.

i'm using Joli sleeve as well, black/aqua. For me it doesn't look cheap, i really like the grain leather, scratch free.

Just ordered a Cityslicker (Chocolate-colored) with a handle and Suspension Strap Mini from Waterfield Designs. Will post thoughts on it when it arrives.

I just saw the Speck Retina case its 49 dollars but I have a skin on so I am sure it won't fit :(

Anyone got a link for the Speck case? I heard some Apple stores already had them, but not finding them online.

A quick view of the BestSkinEver full body, You can barely see it. It does leave a glossy finish but I kind of like it :)

I always put BSEs on the back sides of my devices...especially something like the iPad. Yeah you can kind of tell there is something there if you look close but the protection it provides from a scratch point of view makes it worth it. Hard to install on curved edges so be sure you have a hair dryer handy...helps with drying the corners.

Picked up a clear SPECK hard shell yesterday in the Apple store. It's not available online yet.. So far, they have clear and black. Speck will be updating the colors on their website soon according to their Facebook page. But for those who were waiting for the Speck cases, they're in! Very sleek looking.

Just went to my local apple store, they had no clue what i was talking about, go figure.

Ill just have to wait.

Incase terra sleve

I purchased the blue Incase Terra Sleeve for my rMBP and it was delivered today- I LOVE IT! :D It fits really well (not TOO tight, so when I get a hard shell case it will fit fine!) and I am not really afraid of it scratching (zipper) because of the protective flap. It's very chic and sleek :) ;):rolleyes::D

HELP
WOULD IT BE BETTER TO BUY a Best Skin Ever full body clear cover?
http://www.bestskinsever.com/macbook-pro-15-inch-with-retina-display-2012-model-skin
OR should I stick with hard shell cases (Kuzy/Speck)?

How different is the Speck from the Kuzy ones?

Look identical from the pictures... I owned black-matte speck for my late 2010 MBA, bottom part is not in one piece anymore, after 2-3 months usage I lost all the little notches that hold it. :(

I am just questioning whether double the price of speck worth it...
