@Azumah1 ye use the link steve provided. However, for me the internet recovery didn't work. Apparently a network issue although im not sure how as my previous which i sold before getting this i did several internet recovers on.

I had to just do cmd + R on boot up, but be quick because when you notice its starting up youll probably miss getting chance to press them its that quick!

I took the plunge for 10.12.2 beta. Bad idea. It screwed up my battery and it now drains like crazy, but I think something went wrong with the firmware, because on 10.12.2 the battery icon refused to indicate how much battery was left. I restored 10.12.1, and it shows up to 4h, but the graph on activity monitor is not showing a line, and the battery time is still low :( Either i fail at resetting the SMC (it's stupid that there's no double chime anymore) or 10.12.2 flashed the firmware and now I'm stuck. Can some nice soul post their Bootrom, SMC and battery firmware version from System Information to confirm?

I've just seen the red artefacts on my 15" MBP upon plugging my iPad Air and opening Duet. Just for a second while the screen flickered and changed resolution.

Just tried again and hasn't happened this time. Nor when I plugged it to an external monitor.

Don't worry, it's a GPU driver bug, i've already saw a bunch of sparse draw errors, like missing fill triangles in chrome, redfilled windows and screen flashes.

I saw it when I first connected Duet aswel but not since (although i've stopped using Duet for now as it disables Mission Control), i've noticed it in Full screen app switching occasionally and some windows (usually panels). Hoping it's software/driver issue - they're very few and far between for me.

I hope it's a driver issue too.
I'm the unfortunate owner of a 2010 15" MBP that crashes even when the screen saver kicks in. Don't want to go through this again!

Saw something about resetting the SMC to remove bugs with battery life! whats that about?

In addition any new decent app recommendations? So far Rocket seems like a must have if you got one with a Touch Bar

F*ck, now that thing that was under the keyboard chipped my screen. I scheduled an appointment on monday, since now I'm have an idea what happened. I think a piece of the LED from the keyboard backlight broke, and that's why I heard a thing sliding inside since day 1, and pieces of it are still under the keys. Not a piece of it chipped my screen when the lid was closed.

I'm going to tell them to take it back and give me a new one, or to just take it back and give me back my money. What's the exact return policy for us, can anyone give me the details? I'm pretty mad about all of this, since I always use screen protectors on macs, but this time i bought one early enough that none are avaible yet...

Everything was going so well, loved the machine and the speakers are such a step up but last week i have started noticing certain things like drag and drops not preforming as they should and delay's on everyday tasks and it all come to a head yesterday when trying to transfer a file onto a USB Drive the computer would freeze and shutdown without fail (4times this happened) tried with another file same issue occurred. Now i have on my file transferring status bar what looks like pixelated white spots in the shadow effect that appears beneath. Looks like i am getting a replacement to be confirmed tomorrow but for a fully spec 15" 2tb and all i am bitterly disappointed. Attached some images for you to have a look over to see what i mean.

Those spots on drop shadows are driver rendering errors, a replacement won't fix it. Not sure about the USB problems, but on a funnier note, yesterday i connected a usb3 drive (via an adapter). This killed the soundcard, which without fault would produce screeching noise from ANY playback. A restart fixed it. It's all down to software now unfortunately. The joys of being an early adopter..

Also to note, Skylake graphics is an absolute PITA. The drivers for Linux for this chip were abysmal for the first few months that it was out, and as far as i know they still are for some laptop users. Which is funny considering every other chip before that had pretty much stellar Linux support from day 1, and Linux people bought them because of that. Intel is dying from the inside.

Hey guys,

I have just received my new 13" macbook pro with thouchbar...
It looks so beautiful next to my white macbook from 2008 :)

Could you help me with one thing?
I've read somewhere that it was best to do a clean install and an SMC reset 'or something like that)
Could you please help me how to do that?
Do I need anything else besides my macbook to do this? (software to reinstall, ...)

edit: I've now read somewhere that if you do a clean install some apps will no longer be on your macbook (for example garage band,...). I don't know which apps I would like to keep and which apps would be of no use for me. Is this correct? If so, which apps will no longer be on my mac, what are they used for and if I would like to use them can I easily reinstall them?

Thankfully it seems all the problems people are experiencing can be fixed with a future OS update. Better than having to return it and get a new one I suppose - hopefully mine doesn't have any issues its arriving tomorrow

Yeah its bad timing to release a new computer and a new OS at almost the same time, especially considering how bad apples programmers seem to be

Hoe about screen uniformity for you all? I've got the 15" and notice that the the left side of the screen (about 1/4th) has a blue tint.

You can test it when you drag a white picture across the screen..

Could be one of 2 things

Did you use any other things in USB C ports on MacBook Pro? If so and they worked then it may be the charger

Some have had issues with their charger and had to have it replaced at local Apple Store
