Hey guys, I have a problem. When a part of my hand is resting on the trackpad (the palm), if I click/touch to click with a finger it makes a right-click. Do you know how to change that ?

I went straight from something like CS3 or 4 to CC, for me it was a fairly good upgrade, I actually purchased it mainly for Lightroom as I use that much more than Photoshop these days. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a cloud subscription to CC but I know not everyone is keen on not owning the software

Yes, i mean i have no issue with the concept of CC. I am in fashion & graphic design so photoshop and Illustrator get HEAVY use and i mean CS6 is great i have no issues with it but if i am missing something which can improve what i output or workflow with CC then i would happily switch. Also on my mind is the touchbar integration they are working on, if that will be rolled out as an update for later software or only be implemented on the CC suite.

Im not a heavy enough user of the suite (I only have the photography plan) to give you an accurate answer on whether you're missing something but I can almost certainly say that any new features like Touchbar support will come with a CC subscription only.

Yes thats what i fear, a way for Adobe to get people to sign-up for the CC subscription for sure. Will have to do a little research. If anyone else here has the full suite please chime in and let me know if their is much of an improvement opposed to the CS6.

I have the same issue with my non touchbar. I rest the meaty part of my right hand against the edge of the laptop and part of it spills over onto the trackpad, thus when I tap elsewhere on the touchpad it registers a right click. It's happening less as I am subconsciously adjusting to it. This never used to happen with my old 15" as the touchpad doesn't extend as close to the edge of the MacBook on the older models.

Can see you have the Adobe Suite what do you run the CC or CS6 ? I'm fighting with myself on what to do i have CS6 is their much of a point in going to the CC if i did could do a fully fresh install on the new machine as well but then if not i need to transfer CS6 did you migrate the full machine or what path did you choose to take ?

I upgraded to CC a while ago when they did Digital Publishing Suite as it was an easy way to produce iPad apps out of InDesign. Then they dropped it. Always felt robbed as I would have stayed with CS5.5 if it wasn't for DPS. Now I have to keep subscribing to be able to open my files. The truth is though that it's not expensive if you use it for a living and the integration with the iPad apps is cool.

The best thing is no migration. It's a bit like iCloud - you just go to Adobe.com and download the CC installer onto your new Mac. Takes 2 mins and then you just re-download the apps straight to the new machine. I've got fast broadband so it's all done in a few minutes. Not setup or anything - even syncs your typekit fonts.

It is but I think that's due to the new way the backlight works on these butterfly keys. Plenty bright enough for me and there is no light bleed around the edges of the keys like before

Thanks for the reply. It's very annoying, and I think it's not normal...
[doublepost=1479840794][/doublepost]Also, after using migration assistant, I had to create a fake second user to disable automatic login so that I can enable Touch ID.

I'm comparing it to a 12" MacBook which also has a butterfly keyboard and supposedly less edge bleed.

Thinking about it, it is probably on purpose to match the brightness with the Touch Bar (which is not user adjustable).

Aaa ok i have heard of the DPS before have never had to use it myself so don't know much about it but yes Adobe are good at taking things away or not updating previous in order to get you to upgrade. I think i may bite the bullet and just move across especially with the touch bar integration looming which i do have no doubt will only be for those CC customers. You are right as well when looking at it and adding up it looks like a lot but without it then you can't do the work needed ends up at around £1.50 a day, helping myself come to terms with making the upgrade aha.

Fair enough, in comparison to my Late 2013 MBP, it's certainly more dim but I wouldn't have noticed it unless I was comparing them directly. In fact I need to turn my brightness down otherwise the keys are too distracting for me.

after a few hours using it - what i like most: display. louder speakers. speed. overall look.

touchbar isn't of much use for me atm. touchpad also something i need to get used to.

i like typing on the new keyboard but i've noticed the keys don't sound the same and they have different pressure points - kinda ruins the feel. the control key is the worst for me - way louder when i press bottom left corner of it and feels like i spilled soda on it.

SSD is rapid: getting 1500 MBps write and 2250 MBps read on a 256GB drive (smaller sizes tend to be slower, sometimes significantly).

You'll need to get stuck into learning some of the new stuff but it can be a time saver. Of course I've just had to go in and change back crop tool behaviour to normal and get rid of the horrible animated zoom in that and Illustrator. There's some good stuff in there though - like better content aware tools etc. I've always found Terry White on YouTube to be a great guy to watch when new versions come out. Anyway, this is kind of hijacking the thread so I'll say no more!

At full brightness it's a lot less brighter than a rMB. I think it's due to my Touch Bar brightness theory.

could be. they wanted to have a nice blending between 2 visual points as you stated. i dont have the rMB but when i use MBP in low light , even %60 brightness looks good to me. Normally i turn that light off until i go to bed :D

I got my new MacBook Pro 13" (16GB RAM, 512GB SSD) today and i'm very excited until now :)
Switched from an MacBook Pro 2011 13" (1280x800) - that's a huge difference!

Does anyone know whether Microsoft Office for Mac (the one with touchbar version) has already been released?
They demo'ed in the presentation for Surface Pro I think earlier this month.
Would be awesome to use Office with TB.

Also, Chrome needs to be updated ASAP.

The latest Office that I just installed doesn't do anything special with the touch bar, still needs to be updated

Yeah it's not out yet. It's bizarre really, Microsoft always act like it will have the new features from day one - and they should considering Apple gives them early access. They did the same with Apple Pencil and the iPad Pro. Not even the latest beta builds have it. Assume it will be early next year based on their usual speed.
