Got my 13" TB (2.9 GHz 16 GB 512 GB) now and I'm pretty impressed. Had a 2010 MacBook Air and some Lenovo and Dell machines before (including XPS 13 which is a piece of ****).

The MBP is absolutely beautiful, the display is stunning, sound is amazing, I really like the keyboard.

At first I was very disappointed with performance (spinning beach ball all the time) and battery life, but then I figured that the reason was a crappy application I've installed which set up a bogus launchctl service in my system.

Touch Bar is nice but not a killer feature.

Biggest bummer was that my Dell WD15 USB-C dock is not working, but it's not the fault of the MBP. It did not event work properly with the Dell XPS 13 for which it has been made for. Dell is simply producing overprices ****. Full of hardware and driver bugs. Ordered a Kensington SD4500 dock now and hope it's working better.

Glad I'm finally back to the Mac :)

Wasn't the WD15 recalled?

I think it was the TB15 which was recalled.
I contacted support a few times about the WD15, they replaced it once but problems persist...

If you have any information on a WD15 recall, please let me know. It's an incredibly overpriced, faulty, buggy piece of ****.

So far, I am loving this machine, just gorgeous.

I am having a couple of issues with the keyboard which is really clicks like there's something stuck underneath, but only on the left side of it (asdf in particular) and the cps lock backlight is much much brighter on the right side of the arrow than the left. Anyone else seeing something similar?

I'm going to reserve judgment on battery for a few days, it was estimating 1hr30 on full charge when I was importing raw files into Lightroom and building previews, which if that turns out to be the case is a total deal breaker and will probably break my heart to send it back!

Got the same lifetime when an application went nuts in the background. 1:30 seems to be the lifetime you get under load. (But I was at 10,00 load average which is really high.)
And yes, it's sad.

I have the same issue with the caps lock backlight.

Nope I can still see recognize the key ;)
Sounds more like OCD.
sorry, its an issue to me, the right of the arrow is much brighter than all the other keys and stands out like a sore thumb, the left of the arrow is the correct brightness. For a £2200+ laptop, thats not good

For me it's an issue when typing in the dark as I keep getting distracted by the part of the key that's blazing like a beacon more brightly than anywhere else on the keyboard...
That sounds understandable. Guess I've been lucky to get a keyboard which is not that bad.

Yup, you're right, thinking about the ridiculous price, I think this is justified...

Still transferring over all the files I need, but so far I've been loving the new machine. I did have some oddities with my keyboard, in particular with the r key, it didn't seem terribly consistent when pressing the key, but using the keyboard this evening seems to have resolved this for me. Not sure if it was user error or something that legitimately needed to be broken in through usage.

Will check battery life and such once I've got everything transferred and indexed. Right now it'd likely be terrible.

Got my 15", 2.9ghz, r460. I love the laptop..but the keyboard is just too loud. I often work during the night and the noise is just too much at the moment. Is this normal? I'm coming from a mba 2015, mbpr 2012, mbr 2015 and I would say that the keyboard feels great but it's about 3x as noisy.

Only had time to have a quick go so far will really get stuck in tomorrow but so far it seems like an amazing machine. Only thing is i had the habit of shut down from power button with the sleep, restart etc. options doesn't seem to be possible from what i have seen to enable that prompt when pressed.

I'm not seeing anything odd about the caps-lock key or the backlighting on mine (13")

Also don't think the keyboard is any louder than my old MacBook, iMac keyboard or Dell keyboard. It has a lower tone to it thats all.

If you hammer the keys like you do on older style keyboards then it IS louder, but this keyboard rewards a lighter touch with less finger travel. Not only can you type faster than on the older keyboards by doing this, but it is no louder. Maybe just a period of adjustment.

Well, I just noticed, but I think there clearly is a problem with my touch bar. The lightening is very low. Can I change that or... ?

I can't take a picture because it looks way brighter on it. Maybe it seems brighter is videos for the same reason and I don't have a problem...

Large stroke of luck, managed to get a cheap train fare home, so have popped back to pick up my new MBP... Just finished restoring from my backup!

I love it so far. Had a few reservations about Space Grey but it looks wonderful, the keyboard is quick and easy to type on (though is quite loud), it's so light and thin compared to my 2011 15", and the Touch Bar is actually really, really nice. And the screen! Can't wait to use this more over the coming days, have a short film shoot on Thursday so will see how it handles slightly more demanding tasks - I'm confident it'll do just fine!

One thing which is annoying me more than it should - I've customised my Control Strip to have a Dashboard button, and it works fine when invoking it, but then does not dismiss it as the old physical Dashboard function keys used to do. I presume it's just a bug, but can anyone else confirm the same behaviour? Thanks!

Just tried it; same behaviour here.

Just realized that with the vanishment of MagSafe, I would not know whether the Mac:

- Is charging or not
- Is full on battery or not

I miss MagSafe already :(

Also, 3 finger drag seems to only be working 50% of the time, thinking of returning this product when the stocks are constant.
