I'm still setting mine up, but one thing I'm not liking is the lack of the power cord extender which used to be shipped with laptops. So the charger cable is not long enough anymore for where I use the MBP. Now I have to pay Apple an absurd £19 for a short piece of mains cable with a plug on the end which must cost all of 10p to manufacture. The dongle thing I can live with because it's justified by moving forward, but the cheapskate omitted charger extender crosses the line.

It is obnoxious. Remember you can buy a generic one for quite a bit less. :)

Well, I just noticed, but I think there clearly is a problem with my touch bar. The lightening is very low. Can I change that or... ?

I can't take a picture because it looks way brighter on it. Maybe it seems brighter is videos for the same reason and I don't have a problem... "

The brightness of the touch bar is definitely dimmer than the screen, but it is not that bad on mine, its bright enough to look good with the keyboard, as it's meant to. You can't change the brightness of it

Ruh roh... just had a graphics meltdown on my 13", a lot of crazy colour glitching out even on the boot screen. It has stopped now. Hoping it was some sort of bug rather than a dodgy chip or screen!

Hmmm, I've heard reports of that somewhere else, but I didn't see what the cause was. Strangely I've had almost exactly the same thing when I tried to do a fresh install of my iMac. Eventually it went away after I gave up and it hasn't come back so I put that down to software rather than hardware. But let's hope its software in your case

I believe most of the hub-ub is about the 15" models with 'higher end' graphics options. Hope it's a one-off thing for you.

Side note, has anyone noticed the UI on itunes can be a little slow? I'm on 15" on integrated graphics (during iTunes use) and its very slow to 'reveal' an album, where you click on the artwork and it unfolds all the tracks below. Pretty sure this is just a software optimisation thing, but stood out to me during otherwise silky performance :)

Ok thank you. I'll have to check with some MBP in an Apple Store to see if it's the same.

iTunes has been performing abysmally for me too. It's better today than it was yesterday - not sure what's changed.

No more graphics mess-ups yet, hopefully it stays that way.

I'm still restoring all my stuff to mine, overall so far I love it, but have a few niggles:

- the USB-C power is pretty hard to disconnect especially when you've got a USB-C lead connected next to it

- The touchbar definitely doesn't look as high res as I would expect

- I like the keyboard travel etc but haven't yet found away of not typing loudly on it

- I miss the slient click option on the trackpad

- the vents / speaker grills at the bottom are sharp the previous model was nice and rounded

- the keyboard lighting isn't as bright (which I don't mind) but I do notice some letters or symbols have dimmer spots on them which upsets my OCD.

I can't comment on the performance, speakers yet until all my stuff has restored.

.

I've definitely noticed myself getting quieter as I get used to type much more softly, I think that's the key (no pun intended)

Basically the exact same as my initial impressions!

I can't wrap my head around the pixellation of the Touch Bar. On paper it has about the same PPI as the main display but there is a clear difference in clarity.

I am blown away by the speakers after having my previous MacBook Pro constantly go in for repairs on the speakers and then eventually getting it replaced by apple with a Mid-2014 model, the difference is outstanding, in some cases you can barely hear the 2014's while these pack a real punch!

I'll see what happens after use, the keys may also need a bit if use before they sound less click too (maybe)

Well, after all the waiting it appears I have a lemon. Horrible graphics distortion on a certain strip of the screen. It seems to be either software or the graphics chip rather than the screen (I think). Time to run diagnostics and reinstall macOS.

The worst part is it's intermittent - i.e. you just know that when you take it to the store it will be perfectly fine!

Well you're within your return period anyway so you shouldn't have any problems there, and now there is store stock then you should be able to get it replaced quickly. I don't know if yours is BTO or not but I also heard there was stock of different non stock configs at the stores too

With all the movement though hopefully it'll be in soon?

Either way it's a shame after all that but hopefully you will get it sorted soon enough
Grr. I called Regent Street to see what they had. They had ONE 3.3/16/512. I'd rather pay the difference to get it sorted today... but they can't hold it for me. Not even if I pay the full price over the phone. By the time I get there it will be gone so now point.

The funny thing is the issue has stopped now. Still concerning though.

Might be worth a trip, you never know? The 3.3 will probably not be people's first pick?

They had six of those in Westfields Stratford.
[doublepost=1479928155][/doublepost]So people with the 13" one are having graphics cards issues too?
