my fault

i forgot to note down the macbook specs

1.83 ghz 100gb 5400 hdd
512 ram

once again does anybody know the apple charging details?preauthorization?:confused:

This happened to me as well. I think they do it just to make sure the funds are available and do not do the actual charge until it is built and ready to ship.

My story 'zackly. Never saw this kind of preauth. just like you describe but I never ordered an item in advance! After a week & 2 days the preauth. is still there but my full credit limit is back.
Ordered: 1/31 2.0 1GB 100GB 7200RPM
Ship: 3/3 (but please SOONER)
 
Well, I ordered a stock 1.83 on Feb 4 and I can still cancel, have no pre-auth or charge on my CC and have not gotten any shipping notice.:(

When will it ship???:( :( :(

thanks for your posts.i feel much more at ease.because initially i thought it might have been some kinda accidental cancellation.
come on defect-free macbook get a move on!!!!!!:cool:

First time quoting myself. Anyways, mine is shipping 5 days earlier from the above estimate. Perhaps some of you that ordered after me will see your order bumped up. It is coming straight from [China] with FedEx.

Edit: I meant China instead of Japan.

And just to make sure - to check if you can cancel your order or not - go to Apple Store Order Status page, click cancel items. If your MBP still is listed with a checkmark, you can still cancel. You don't go beyond this step do you?

I ordered 2/24 - 2GHz, 1GB RAM, 100GB 7200 RPM HDD

est ship = 3/24
est arrival = 3/31

What a long time to wait :( Oh well I guess I must stay busy until then so I don't have to think about it.

Ordered: 1/30 2.0 1GB 100GB 7200RPM
Original ship: 26 or 27 (?) to arrive 3/5 or so.
Then the free upgrade:
Ship: 3/3
Arrive: 3/10

RE: making sure, you got it prezackly, the checkmark box was gone...I did not go beyond the step you refer to (like checking the box noooooooo!!!!!!)The text about not being able to cancel was in a bright red font up above..

But as of this late hour, it has SHIPPED! TRACKING NUMBER!

So basically, mine has shipped a day or 2 past the original estimate, or just under a week b/4 the upgraded estimate like many others. Whew! May you all be so lucky!

Note: I ordered an additional 85w power supply that was originally shipping on April 6/arriving April 13 but I just received my tracking number today! So, it looks like they're catching up. I expect my MBP will ship about 1 week earlier than estimated. Does anyone concur?

I ordered mine on 2/15 and I received 3/15 shipping (same specs, but with 2GB of RAM). I would like it to ship a week earlier, but I've waited so long, another week isn't going to do anything.

When you say "received my tracking number", do you mean for your power supply?

Yes, I received tracking number for power supply only. And, I agree. 1 more week won't hurt but this 30" Apple Cinema Display has been sitting here unopened for 3 weeks AND THAT IS JUST KILLING ME!!!:( I don't have anything that will run it so why open it? I can't wait to see Google Earth on 30" ACD or any good DVD movie too.

:::Speed Bump Happens Here:::::

After the speed Bump my Recording Arts teacher decides to inform me that I would be much more satisfied with a 7200 RPM HDD....so i call Apple and Change it...THEY HAD TO CANCEL THE ORDER!!!! This put me in the very End of the line for shipping :(

Interesting thing is that Amazon got a shipment in (seemingly 2.0s only) last weekend. I (and a couple of others in the thread below) waited until last weekend (2/24) to order and were able to get them by 3/1 (depending on shipping choice). A couple of people who had a late March or early April date cancelled and was able to get in on the "first come, first serve" MBP 2.0 deal for a 2/28 or 3/1 delivery.

I ordered my 1.83 CTO (1Gb RAM) only 2 days after you; absolutely nothing seems to be happening yet :mad:
Guess it might be different times for U.K orders?

Seems like i'll never get mine...

like i posted before i ordered on feb 6 1.83ghz 512mbram 100gb 5400rpm hdd macbook.est. ship mar 8 and delivery mar 15.thats with two day shipping which doesnt make sense.anyways i had a preauthorization for one week that expired 3 days ago and now have the full amount for the mac in my account.which also i dont understand.then as of yesterday i am unable to cancel my order.so what i would like to know is what is the next set of events that i should wait for and how many days do you think it will take.please help a macbook addict out my peeps.:cool: :cool:

It seems that there is a huge backorder issue with the 1.83s which makes sense considering its the lowest priced model. I just did a click through on the Amazon site to check the availability of systems. I can have a 2.0 with overnight shipping in hand by 3/7, but the 1.83s give me a 5/1 date. Not to sound pessimistic, but I dont think there is going to be much movement with the 1.83s in the near future giving the fulfillment channels appear to be blocked and backlogged.

Honestly, this is the only reason I upgraded from a 1.83 to a 2.0. I could have it in hand 3-4 weeks sooner.
