MacBook Pro: The Second Coming (Feb Orders)

Ordered 1.83->2.0 2/8. Original est. ship date 3/9. Shipped today. Current est delivery date 3/9 sounds much better than original 3/16. Giving presentation on PBG4 667 Wednesday. Glad it will be the last on that machine.

Has no one received a CTO lately? The stores are not only getting in the standard configs they are seeming to maintain stock.
The reports of shipments are dropping which I hope is only because of lack on enthusiasm and not because Apple can't create a supply.
I was hoping I wouldn't be waiting until Mar 21. I keep having bouts of doubt. :confused:
Please stop playing with your new Macbook for a moment and post reports of shipment/received. :)
 
You all should order thru macmall I made my order on the 24th of february and my computer is in process of shipping already.

I posted proof in the other thread about macmall

plus you get a free ram upgrade
 
My 1.83 (ALL stock) MBP was delivered today (3/7).

Ordered 2/4 through Apple.com w/ an Education discount
Original estimated Ship Date 3/8

It shipped out 3/4 and Fedex gave an estimated delivery date of 3/8, so they got it here a day early, on 3/7 (and week early according to Apple's estimates).

just a question...at what time of day does apple give shipping confirmation? I don't want to waste my time checking all day (everyday ) I've been waiting for a month today...I'm getting all depressed because I have to use this slow PC....I'm so irritated

estimated arrival 3/23

ive been hearing ppl have been getting theirs about a week or so early, hope theres some consistency there..
 
Ordered yesterday.


Arrived today.

Paid no taxes and 20 bucks for overnight shipping.

Head over to www.macprices.com and check the stocks constantly, one of them is bound to get them in. Just yesterday ecost.com and macconnection.com had 2.0 machines in stock.

I would recommend macconnection since I've never been treated better ordering a product than with them.
 
Finally! I'm no longer able to cancel my order!

MBP 1.83 CTO (1GB RAM). Ordered 2/12. Est Ship Date 3/14.
It looks like it'll ship a little early, but who knows?

Soon I'll be able to move on from my obsessive order-status checking to some equally obsessive shipping-status checking. I'm scared of how obsessive I'll actually be when the MBP is actually in my lap!
 
Macconnection.com

I had a pending order since Febuary 19th on macmall.com for a 1.83 and got fed up so i looked on macconnection.com and ordered a 2.0 on March 7 and will be here march 9th. Screw Macmall go for macconnection.com

Estimated ship date was 14 March, so they got it out just under a week early.

Estimated arrival date is now 15 March to the UK (which usually takes ages with TNT)
 
I just phoned apple to change my ship-to address (heading home for spring break), and the rep said that my 1.83 stock system, that I originally ordered on 2/21, would ship sometime between 3/15 and 3/21, but "probably closer to the 15th". Web order status says shipping on the 21st.

This is my first mac purchase, and I have to admit that I'm a bit puzzled by the long wait. When I drop that kind of money I am a bit peaved when I can't play with my new toy. Is this common?

I called the local Apple store, and they informed me that they are still working on wait lists that are about 12 deep for each model.

Not to sound rude, but have you been paying attention at all to the previous posts in this thread? People who ordered in mid-January are still waiting to recieve theirs. Not to mention the apple store online says "ships in 2-3 weeks"

So to answer your question, yes, this is common, but I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

feb 11, day after i got my tax return, which covered the macbook :)

please, welcome me to the mac world, i've been waiting to get in, for years.

It's not common, but it's common for brand spanking new Apple products that are in high demand. Order anything else off their site I'm sure you'd have it much faster.

I ordered MBP 1.83ghz /w 7200rpm CTO
Ordered Feb 27th
Shipped by March 27th

So hopefully the week of March 20-27th it'll ship based on the facts here.
 
My MBP 2.0 is on the way, it will arrive tomorrow (Friday). I am really excited. I hope DHL will deliver my MBP in the morning.

I'm sure it'll be worth the wait too.

My apologies to those who are still waiting that ordered in January, as my intent was not to minimize your plight, but to gain a better understanding of the process. I have to admit that I have established a bit of the "I want what I want, and I want it now" mentality.
