I got that as well when I ordered my system on 2/25. I placed the order anyway with an expected delivery date of 2/28. All went well as my system is now in hand, but unfortunately others that placed orders in January are still waiting - not sure whats up with Amazon's ordering system. I did call customer service a couple of times to ensure everything was being processed. 1 of 3 reps had no clue they were shipping MBPs. The other 2knew and assured me my system would ship once everything cleared.
Its a chance you take. If you have the free room on your CC you can place another order and cancel your previous once the new system is in hand.

Thats interesting. I just did a clickthrough on Amazon for a 2.0 about 2 hours ago and it gave me a 3/7 delivery date. I guess there supply is depleted. I see that you have the 100GB Serial ATA Drive@7200rpm did you change the stock config? If you did, this would definitely delay your order.

Today I added the full version of iWork to my 2/21 1.83 stock order. I just checked my status and it says that I cannot cancel these two Items online.
Could this just be a result of the iWork getting ready to ship? Or could my macbook be getting ready as well. I've seen posts on the apple support forums regarding people who have had their mid-late February orders ship already.

Just got off the phone with someone from Amazon.com. The March 2007 ship date for the MacBook Pro 2.0ghz is based on the information Amazon.com currently has. The rep told me that there are 507 "pre-orders" for the MBP2.0 and the ones in the front of the queue have a 2006 ship date. He said the next batch of MBP2.0s will ship out March 20, and after that they aren't scheduled to receive any more from Apple until 2007, which explains the ship date for everyong near the end of the queue.
I ordered my stock 1.83 on 2/4 and can still cancel my order.
Two days ago, the status page said that Apple had tried to get an authorization on my credit card, but it failed. The reason was that I had an Apple line of credit for $2500 and the total of the MBP put it $40 over!! So, I had to make a payment real quick to make sure there was enough credit.
Do you guys think this will affect my shipping date? I can still cancel my order, and no update on my credit card yet.
I'm really worried!!!! My ship date is now at 3/8...

Lucky you! - I ordered mine 3rd Feb (apple store w. education discount) but mine was CTO (xtra 512MB ram) - i've heard that takes a while longer. finally the apple store says i cannot cancel my order; how long after this happened did everyone get their shipping notice?
