Arrived today!

In case you forgot:

2.0/1GB/7200RPM ordered Feb. 14th after they announced the upgrade.

Shipped Mar. 11th, spent 22 hours in Indianapolis yesterday (waiting for customs  ) and arrived at 9:48 am this morning.

Yea! Now if I can just get used to this sucky trackpad...

Mine arrived too this morning. Man what a nice machine! This replaced my old iBook G4.

MBP 1.83/1GB RAM

Ordered: 14 Feb
Shipped: 8 March
Arrived: 15 March

Well I have been tracking this thread for a while to see how many are getting shipments before there due date :) Still waiting for mine to ship.

Details :

Ordered Feb 28th
Shipped By March 28th
Delivered By April 4th

2.16GHz Intel Core Duo/256MB
1GB 667 DDR2- 1 SO-DIMM
100GB Serial ATA Drive@7200rpm

Originally went for the faster processor because I thought it would not be so popular and would ship quicker - but I guess not :(

Mine arrived this morning at my parents house - so I can't pick it up until Friday evening..but this looks a little worrying...

According to my Mum the box looks fine..hopefully the delivery driver just filled the form in wrong, unless he saw it get dropped or something and felt honest about it..

Just my luck..:(

Why do you say it's sucky? Is something wrong with it or you just don't like using a track pad?

Sorry, When I said trackpad I really meant button. The old iBook that the MBP replaced had a smaller button that 'clicked' when you pressed it. The MBP button just kind of rocks slightly down when it's pressed. I'm sure I'll get used to it but right now it is kind of annoying. I might have to go see if I still have a MS Intellimouse laying around.

Anyone who got their MBP already, what was the day difference from when the charged your account till when they shipped it. Because they billed me today, but my delivery date still hasn't changed; 3/24.

Well, I finally got mine today. Exactly one month after I ordered it.

The computer is fast. I'm really impressed. Playing games under Rossetta is kind of a pain though; Halo's settings need to be turned down in order to get about 30 FPS. Doom 3 runs well now that the universal binary is out.

The computer runs quite hot. I reinstalled OS X as soon as I got it, and while it was installing I thought I was going to have to turn the computer off because of the heat that was coming out of it. Most of the time it runs at a reasonable temperature, though.

As for battery life, I'm just in the process of calibrating the battery right now. I did get about three hours and 45 minutes till it went to sleep.

By the way, I'm running a 2.16 Ghz with a 7200 100 GB HDD.

I give the computer 8.5/10.

I have noticed that the lead times quoted on the UK Apple Store are starting to come down now for the MacBook Pro.

I ordered mine on the 28th of Feb, when the lead times were quoted as 3-4 weeks. Last week they came down to 2-3 weeks, today I noticed that they are now quoted as shipping in 1-2 weeks. So hopefully mine and everyone else's orders will ship early :)

However this only applies to stock MacBook Pro's - any customization adds 2 weeks to the expected ship time :( - not unsurprising I guess.

I can't cancel my order any longer, which I gather means it's being built or is shipping now :D Finally.

Noob question - how can you tell you can't cancel the order - is the cancel order button on your order status screen grayed out?
don't really want to press the button to find out ( but I am sure there would be a cancel confirmation screen :) )

I'm glad you asked that question as I didn't want to find out the hard way either.

You will not able to provide a reason to cancel your order anymore. If you can choose a reason then your order is still cancellable.

Has anyone noticed, over the last few weeks the "ready to ship" time on macbook pros from the UK have been dropping steadily.

Looks like they got their supply chain sorted! :D

Thanks Drummerboy - unfortunately I can still cancel mine :( - do you know how many days typically from "These items CANNOT be individually cancelled" status change to shipping notification ?
