Another Sierra question:

In photos, can you now EDIT the location of a photo? Currently, you can only remove one.

Also, to those who have Sierra and iOS 10, do Faces sync? (So that I don't have to add people to both devices). That would be awesome if they do.

I've been removing, editing, and changing locations in Photos for a few months now on El Capitan with no issues...

Google Chrome beta 52 uses ALL available memory and breaks the whole system on launch until it is destroyed. I'll see if the same is true in normal Chrome.

EDIT: Yep, same in "normal" Chrome. It gobbles up 10GB of RAM in 3 seconds.

UPDATE: Chrome Canary works much better. Goes up to max then quickly retreats to "normal" levels.

Probably, however YouTube uses an proprietary videoplayer, so I guess it will be up to Google to add this feature. It does work in most sites where Safari uses the standard videoplayer, and it also works in Vimeo.

It does work with youtube, you just double tap on the top half of the video

I've always kept Gatekeeper on "Identified developer" and just right-click open, and that "signs" the app in a sense so it'll run. It's actually a cool feature because it can detect if the app has been tampered with after that first run.
That's all dandy and all, until you update that app and the whole process resets...
Very tiring.

Can anyone confirm if Outlook.com was finally added to the contacts app as an available option?

Same options as El Cap.

Huh, really? How do you edit? Maybe I'm just going insane... :p

Haha no worries! It definitely wasn't there until fairly recently - the first iterations of the Photos app did not have this ability, which drove me crazy. When you're looking at a photo, hit Command-I (or the little "info" icon which looks like a lowercase "i" in a circle). That will bring up the photo's metadata. The location data is at the very bottom. If the photo already has location data, you can delete it and enter something else, or you can add it if it doesn't have data. You can also change/add keywords and descriptions, and add/edit faces in this window. If you want to change the date and time, that's separate (somewhat annoyingly; it would be nice if all these changes could be made in one window). To change the date and time, go to Image in the menubar and then click on "Adjust date and time."

The nice thing is that you can batch change locations, keywords, and the date/time by selecting multiple photos, or even an entire Moment or Album, and hitting Command-I or selecting Change Date and Time. I take a lot of photos with a Canon DSLR that doesn't geotag so it's very handy being able to batch change locations after the fact!

Thank you! I had no idea, batch editing will be AWESOME!

New "Reduce Motion" Option in Accessibility preferences for those who dislike animations. It makes things like Mission Control, switching to another space, Dock stacks, and the Notification Center come up slightly faster.

Has anyone discovered how Siri knows where files came from? In the demos, a search was refined from "Show me files pertaining to off site" with a follow up of "just the ones Marc sent me..."

1. How does she know that the files were pertaining to "off site"? Was that wording used inside the documents perhaps? Or were they all in a folder called "off site"?

2. How does she know that Marc sent any files? Do contacts get added into file metadata when copied form Mail or Messages and is appended forever?

Do these things work as demoed?

She's just a vocal version of the spotlight search in Finder. You can use the same sentences in El Capitan. They covered the technical stuff behind it in that release I think.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before; I've been looking around and haven't found a definitive answer. Anyway, regarding Picture in Picture, does it work *just* with the Safari browser, or could it potentially work with videos from other apps too? I have a few Fluid SSB's for video sites and am really hoping it would work with them too...

Apple only shows off a few "hero" features in keynotes. There are a bunch of minor tweaks and features that take days or weeks for people to even notice. For example, the Finder's File Rename capability was a hidden gem when El Cap (or was it Yosemite) was announced, and nobody noticed it for a few days.

Which rename capability is this?

Command Z in Safari will now reopen as many tabs as you want. (keep pressing it to get older closed tabs)

Have they also added something in the History menu option that will allow you to reopen previously closed tabs and tell you what they are (the way that it works on Chrome)? I know that right now it just says "Reopen Last Closed Tab" or something similar.

If I want to reopen the fourth newest closed tab, for instance, I don't want to have to press Cmd+Z and reopen the other three as well.

Can you disable internal display when an external one is attached to your MacBook Pro (or any other MacBook)?
