Sorry, man...wrong move on replyingI still don't think I said that![]()
@dosdude1 When I run the post install patcher, only the usb installer shows up in the drop down list, not the disk I installed Sierra to. Do you have any tips as to what I can do?

That won't work at this point, as the recovery partition can't be modified. I'm working on that, though.Command + R not work with MB Aluminum Late 2008 and macOS Sierra PB1.
Ok, well I've updated the tool... Just recompiled and uploaded pretty much. Couldn't really find anything wrong. One thing to make sure of is that the language on the system you're using to create the USB drive is set to English. Also, if it's not working on one particular USB drive, try it on another.Sorry, man...wrong move on replying![]()
Ok, one more possibility on what the issue could be. Go to your Finder menu, select "Go" then "Go to folder". Type "/Volumes", and make sure there's nothing there named "OS X Base System". If there is, unmount or delete it, then try running the tool again.@dosdude1...the language on my system is English and I tried it with my both external drives WD passport 320GB... it's not working and same thing, Prohibited sign on booting after patching macOS Sierra
Something is wrong if it's only taking like 3 minutes to patch. It should take much longer. Is it prompting you to enter your password? If it is, it should restore the Base System image and create a volume named OS X Base System. If that volume doesn't mount, the patching will fail.@dosdude1 ,Im reading the forum and I did that as well before booting a couple of times....Im downloading again the macOS sierra from the link you gave me, and Im going to try again with the patcher that you just updated.... what I dont understand is:
1. in your video you say the patching is complete in 15 to 20m depending of the drive, each time I patch it completes it in 3 minutes tops... is it normal?
2. I placed the install macOS sierra public beta in the applications folder, shall I patch it directly from the dmg?
3. why is the patching completing correctly and then I cant boot from the OSX base system?
brother.. is siri working fine ?? check multiple times ... battery status also not changing .. for my aluminum ..View attachment 639744 Many Tanks Dosdude1, only with youi patcher v. 2,5, my macbook alluminium late 2008 with macOS Sierra.

Ok, can you run the patch again, and when it completes, open Terminal and type "diskutil list". Send me a screenshot of the output.yes, thats what its concerning me...again patched in 3 min....it asks me the password, creates the volume OSX Base System and it mounts ...I just tried again with the updated patch and the new download of Sierra of the link that you provide me and it's exactly the same situation, Prohibited sign on booting the OSX Base System...despite of unmount everything before I boot...dunno what to do anymore![]()

Good question... I would like to know the answer tooI've a question. When a new update of Sierra comes out from the store we need to re download the full iso and re patching it or we can do the update from the store without any problem ? thanks in advance and thank you so much for your hard workI've got an iMac early 2008 24"
Huh, the drive is there... That's really weird. Can you try doing it one more time, but this time send me the output of "ls -al /Volumes"?Again asks password, patches in less than 3m and mounts...here u have it, m8View attachment 639762View attachment 639763

Ok, can you download the latest version (no number change, but just uploaded) and try again? http://dosdude1.com/sierra/macOS Sierra Patcher.zip
No, it should use about 5 GB.
