I have macOS Sierra Recovery HD available to update on Appstore ... For sure Im getting updates, but but no sign of PB2 yet...any reason to be concerned?

In case that I cant update PB1 to PB2 by the AppStore...and If I do it manually, will Dosdude1 macOS Sierra patcher work with PB2?

Well, I tried to install the update with the pkg files, but it doesn't worked, since it is not possible to install this files individually. I've moved the files to Library/Updates folder and created an index.plist, but App Store is still not showing anything.

Okay - I tried to sign up for the beta again, went to the app store and magically Sierra Preview Beta 2 was available roughly 667 meg file - under a minute to download - maybe 10 minutes to load ...

How did you "sign up for the beta again"?
No, I "tried" to sign up again ... but it just had me log in again.
When I went to the app store I saw an OX Server upgrade (prob El Capitan) I have avoided for 2 days - and a few moments later I clicked the App Store link to check for new updates, and THEN the beta 2 showed up.
I have not installed any patches since the original flash to 5,1 upgrade a few weeks back.
But my machine "looks" like an "authorized 5,1 machine, so maybe that was it.
I even pulled the nvidia ST120 card over the weekend and put a newer nvidia GTX285 mac video card in -
(tho I still need to load the newer Airport/bluetooth card ...)

For those of you (everyone, pretty much) having issues with App Store System Updates, I think the best solution at this time is to just wait for the final release, and install these incremental updates (Public Beta 2, etc) manually by downloading and installing the PKG file from Apple (if it's even available). Once the final release has come, I'll begin working on figuring out a method for reliable system updates, if it ends up not working out-of-the-box.

What command / URL did you use to download the update PB2 files manually?
[doublepost=1469061948][/doublepost]Does anyone have a link to the Public Beta 2 PKG update files so I can download directly without the app store?

I don't know if I can post the link here, but you can find it searching for "mac OS Sierra CatalogURL". The update is composed with four pkg files that you can find inside CatalogURL. Sadly, I didn't found any way to install them outside App Store, since the system apparently blocks the manually installation.
[doublepost=1469062947][/doublepost]Just for curiosity, Apple updates the full package installer with the new compilations? Or they're still on the first beta? Maybe it's possible to update "reinstalling" every time using the tool...

Check out osxwifi.com - that is where I got mine from and it works perfectly.

Thank you! I ordered a new WiFi/Bluetooth 4.0 card from them for my 2009 Mac Pro when Wifi died with the Sierra Public beta. Its very fussy fiddly bits getting that card installed ... and those micro-connectors, oy vey! But its in now and I do have working WiFi again now. And OSXWiFi sent very nice printed directions in the box!

AirDrop (works with bluetooth) shows in my Applications now!

"About this Mac" now shows this info with the new card!

For dosdude1;

The second tool that you released about a month ago still works for me. I used it after updating to DP 3 for my MBP 5,1.

I used the steps in post # 1051 to do the update. #1051

That patcher needs to be updated but I still need to find where the hardware check is that's blocking the updates.

Do you know the update identifier for PB2? Dev3 is 031-68147. If I know the PB2, I might be able to find the hardware check for you.

I just re-downloaded from the App Store the beta installer and it matches exactly to beta 1, so it doesn't look like they offer Beta 2 as a full installer.

It will work OOB, there was the same problem with El Capitan beta on Mac pro I think. It is limited by board ID so that the update doesn't appear, yet fail to install... AFTER wasting gigabytes of data.

I found the updates folder inside /var/folders/zz and them searched for "031-68146". There is a dist file for the update, so I've open it, deleted my Mac model from the unsupported list, put the motherboard ID on the supported list, changed every "false" to "true" and saved. I've just opened the App Store and the PB 2 is there.

I presume that the path is random in every Mac, but mine is: /private/var/folders/zz/zyxvpxvq6csfxvn_n00000s0000068/C/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.SUCatalogDataManager/r/031-68146
[doublepost=1469072066][/doublepost]In this folder, I've modified the "031-68146.pt.dist".
