here: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/131878969334?rmvSB=true

or this here a card from mac mini mide 2010:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/252228974327?rmvSB=true

an here another:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/251889770761?rmvSB=true

i have search on this site: http://picclick.ca/?q=mac+mini and found all this devices.

I once have a question about a possible replacement of the WiFi-Bluetooth card, what is important? only the connector from the ribbon cable on an alternate card suits (the antenna connector could itself adapt accordingly if other plugs are thicker or Düner) or is in the Mac mini 3.1 any registered what in EFI, the other cards may not function. This is a question for the experts who are familiar with it better.

I tried to update my Mac Pro 3.1 with dosdude1 patch but it fail. I made an installer in a USB hard drive (with the last installer and the GM) but when I want to boot from it, my computer start and then shut down. Somebody know where the problem is ?
Many (myself included) have successfully upgraded their pro 3,1 using the procedures here many times.
You don't provide much to go on...

Questions:

- describe your hardware a bit
- describe your current OS a bit (Yosemite, El Capitan, Sierra previews....what?)
- can you boot from that USB hard drive?
- if you have a spare USB stick, try this:
  • make sure you have enough free space on your system disk. Sierra installer needs space + recovery partition
  • run disk utility repair and permissions. make sure your system checks out.
  • backup your system. make sure its good.
  • reboot
  • download dosude's latest utility and record the version number
  • follow the instructions to prepare a usb boot stick
  • run the utility to prepare your usb boot disk
  • again follow the instructions and attempt another install

P

I assume the Sierra installer updates the 10.11 recovery partition to 10.12? I'm gonna update when the final release comes out..if I can acquire an image.

It'll always be available on the App Store, and I'll always have a link to download it from if you don't have a supported machine to use.

Dosdude1 - with regard to the sound issue - on both iMac 8,1 is there anything I can try to sort it out as its unusable whenever anything sound related is needed thanks
Given that no-one else with your system had reported a similar problem, you really should consider two options:
1) There was a problem with the installation that is producing these results (upgrade vs clean install)
2) There's a problem with your hardware that Sierra is highlighting

If you have a USB drive with sufficient capacity, I'd recommend doing a Sierra install to it (again, using dosdude1's patcher, as it has to be patched to allow your system), then see if the clean install also has those audio problems you're experiencing.

If it doesn't, it's settings that have migrated to your current configuration from your prior install (whether El Cap or one of the beta's.)

Cool, yeah, I only have the one MacBook Pro (5,3) and I'm unable to download the Sierra installer, so thank you in the future for keeping it available! Now that kick ass torrents is gone, it's not so easy to find stuff..

Actually, my 24" iMac 8,1 has audio issues... Volume just won't change at all, even though it indicates it on the screen. I haven't been able to find a solution yet.

Oho! Damn - read back - it was a 2009 iMac that someone was reporting was ok, not the same model.
Mind you, you guys also have the brcm4321 issue to deal with.

What's the audio chipset in that model? (haven't found that spec). Do you know which kext is being loaded for audio?

I need guide... I did try looking at dosdude1 guideline but currently I'm on PB 7 and I have download the GM. I want to just update from it instead of clean installed. I read through dosdude1 guide seems like it's a clean installed. anyone can guide me how to update and not clean installed. Thanks in advance.

Just disregard the step where you partition the HD or erase the HD. Once you've created the patched macOS Sierra installer, just run the installer as normal and select your current HD as the destination. Once installed remember to reboot to the installer USB and run the post installation patch. Then boot to the new OS on your HD.

What is the difference between the two methods offered by @dosdude1's and @parrotgeek1's scripts?

I understand that with @dosdude1 you'd have to wipe your existing drive? but what if I want to keep my existing data I have on my drive/partition and upgrade to Sierra, does using @parrotgeek1's script do that?
Nope, you don't need to erase your drive (see Kroo's message just above yours?)

Hello everybody!

I have problems creating a bootable USB stick using dosdude1's patch in order to install the Sierra GM!

I have already used the patch ( the further versions ) in order to install the Beta and there were not any problems.

Now using the same USB stick(s), it will not boot from the stick. Tried several times and ways, no chance!

Has anybody an idea, what could be the problem or how I can solve it?

Thanks to all!

Either your USB stick is having issues or there's a problem with the installer that you downloaded. Try a different USB stick first, if the problem persists, re-download the GM from the app store.

Ok, thanks, i will try it.

But I already tried 3 sticks, which were working well with the further patch. And I also downloaded the GM twice, once from dosdude1's link without success.

But maybe I will have luck this time :)

Heh. Well, you should have mentioned that first. What is it doing when you boot up? You select the USB from the boot menu, then what?

And...this IS the same system you already had the Sierra beta running on, right?

Also, make sure you're using the latest version of the tool, Version 4.0.4.

Yes, it is the same system the beta is running.

I cannot select the USB, because i even do not reach the boot menu. If i try to start the boot menu, just the "stop" sign will be shown and i must restart the system.

There is a strange behavior depending using the patch in order to create the boot usb - i am formatting the stick as OS extended ( journaled and GUI ), but during the creation it seems to be changed to OS extended without journaling.

What??? Umm. You ARE holding down the Option key as you're booting up (immediately after pressing the power button, don't release it until after you see the Apple logo), right?

SORRY!

I am so stupid :-D

I just hold down each time the wrong key during the booting, even i know which one to hold!

... and i don't recognized it till now!

Thanks @fischersd and @dosdude1 and sorry for driving you crazy!

There is a new Sierra GM Build released today (16A322 vs 16A319).
