Pretty bummed out that I'm one of the unlucky few that has FCPX crashing constantly :( (High Sierra GM)

Happy to report that since deleting & reinstalling FCPX I haven’t got a crash since while running the app for over 24 hours straight. Lots of imports and exports, & library management. Fingers crossed

I a similar issue. I have the 27" HP ENVY and connecting over USB-C my external monitor is no longer recognized at all. The USB-C cable charges the MacBook of course, and the monitor detects that there is a device connected, but there is no signal from the MBP to the monitor, and it just immediately goes to sleep.

Let us hope they fix it soon.
USB-C works for me however DisplayPort does not work

I'm use Input Source (Vietnamese-> Simple Telex ). New tab Safari -it's lag, freezer. I can't use cmd +A to select All text.

Resolved
Airfoil and Airfoil Satelite were the problems. Uninstalled both, cleaned the system, restarted and It works perfectly. I have reinstalled only the Airfoil and it still works. I did not install satelite though.

Hi
I think I having the same issue cant seem to resolve it. Can you clarify what exactly you did to remove and clean up?

Thanks!

when shutdown my Mac installed high sierRA gm version -- Mac goes into black screen without shutting down - what will be the problem -- I had disabled sip to install -intalled , total finder, Mac cleanse , Adblock , forecast , adobe reader , parallel , radio siclence, one password

can any one tell me why Mac is going into a black screen and not shutting down -- I have to press the power button to shut down--
I see a black screen with a white bar when after signing the password -

I'm in the process of encoding my video library with Handbrake, which my MBA has done flawlessly with Sierra, but right after updating to High Sierra, the Mac completely freezes after a few hours, nothing left but holding down the power button for 5 seconds.

MacBook White Mid 2010: internal trackpad is not recognised in System Preferences on beta 5. All of the gestures are working fine though

I have the same problem on MBP mid 2010, but the bug comes on early betas, and apple dont fix it on GM

Ultimately High Sierra has performed pretty horribly on my system. I recently purchased a 2017 MacBook Pro fully maxed out: 3.1GHZ Kaby Lake, 16GB, 2TB SSD, 4GB VRAM, etc - I did a migration initially from a late 2013 Retina MBP (That particular laptop had a clean install in June so it wasn't too piled up with any lurking spiders etc.) - I'm really hoping this is just a rare case with it being still "beta". But in the years I've installed Beta OS on my system I've never had such poor performance. Basic things make my fan come on. Even iTunes is laggy. Finder is slow. This computer performs worse than my 2013MBP. I tried a reinstall as well which didn't help with anything. What would be the best way to perform a clean install of tomorrow's final release on a system that has already High Sierra GM/APFS on it? (Even though I feel it may not help much and actually inconvenience me insanely). Only thing I care about at the moment is my iTunes library, & Photos library. Everything else can be reinstalled pretty peacefully. I'll probably try an upgrade first just to see if that helps. Would I still get the App Store software update notification to install the final release when it becomes available tomorrow? Anyone else have any similar experience with the GM on a computer that beyond meets the requirements? Any solutions? Listening to the fan go nuts while I'm typing this message.

Mine doesn't sound quite as bad as yours, but yes, I'm generally disappointed... I have a pretty much maxed out 2016 15" touch bar, I upgraded to the GM as I was desperate for a reformat and I wish I didn't. Performance isn't great, I have noticed bugs, experiencing lots of random issues and battery life seems worse.

I think I'm going to do another clean install with the official release, not that I'm expecting any improvements as there are no reports of late bug fixes?

I'm assuming if they made any late changes we would get a GM2?

Where will you be transferring your stuff in the meantime? To an HFS based external hard drive?

Yes, I've still got everything backed up from my first HS install... Assuming that drive still works I won't need to do anything.

Hi all,

Just installed the official release of Sierra High and now i have a problem.
I use a Samsung soundbar to play music from my 2015 iMac through Bluetooth and now it keeps disconnecting after a couple of seconds.
Anybody else have this problem ??

Anyone having trouble copying files to usb drives?

Can copy a 3Gb file off a fat formatted usb drive (32 and 64Gb Sandisk usb stick) and delete it, but it won’t let me copy it back. Multiple 2-3Gb files on different usb sticks.

On GM install.

Obv fine before install as I copied the files on there 8n the first place!

upgraded a mini (late 2012) with two SSDs - one 1TB and one 500Gb.
the 1TB was boot disk and it updated fine and is now running APFS. However, the 500Gb disk is now not seen by disk utility. It contained a bootable Carbon Copy backup of 1TB disk before upgrade, but even in Recovery mode it is not seen.
1TB is OWC Electra 6G and I think the 500Gb is the same, but can't remember.
Anyone know of a way to see this disk, short of removal. I don't need to preserve contents as I have other backups.

I have graphical bugs on High Sierra when using the integrated graphics (Intel HD Graphics 4000 in my case) - red gradient bug on menus, slow bookmark folder opening/closing on Safari. These disappear when forcing the use of the high performance GPU via Energy Saver settings. Bug report submitted to Apple.

Macbook Pro 15" Retina, early 2013.

Driving me nuts but YouTube videos are no longer 'selected' when a page is loaded thus if you try and fast forward via teh arrow keys it does not work. Have to pause/play the video and then fast forward.

Very annoying as it is an added step to fast forward through those stupid openings people put in front of their videos.
