Do we need to format Time Machine Backup Disks to the new format to get around the restoring files error? It sounds like we can back up now, but restoring files is an issues for some. I'm just wondering what to expect

Well, I just discovered my AirPods don't work with my Mac anymore... WTF. I won't be downgrading to Sierra again just because of this but this IS a total bummer. My Mac shows them as being connected but nothing plays. When I try to play a song or video, it does not play or it freezes, then switches back to internal speakers...

Hi all,

Just installed the official release of Sierra High and now i have a problem.
I use a Samsung soundbar to play music from my 2015 iMac through Bluetooth and now it keeps disconnecting after a couple of seconds.
Anybody else have this problem ??

Tried "Forget this device" and connect to it again? Normally, this would solve the problem

Interested aswell.

Also, I'm running HS on a rMBP 2015 13". No problems so far, animations are finally snappy and not laggy, but I'm noticing that it runs much warmer than Sierra... Maybe I should wait a few days right ? it has been a huge under the hood update.

I am going to restore my iMac late 2017. Tonight. The Mac feels a little laggy when waking up and last night it woke from its power nap as normal but for some reason the screen backlight came on but no desktop image was displayed. Woke it up myself and then popped it to sleep.

There is something about it which I can’t put my finger on is that the os just feels buggy and laggy. Think I will wait for either a .1 or .2 update first before installing again.

Just as well I didn’t install it on my server as it would have broken the server!

I can't open my downloaded books within the iBooks app anymore. It tells me that they were purchased / downloaded by a different Apple ID but that shouldn't be the case (especially because I only have one Apple ID and this is also the only one I used on that system). Does anyone know how I could solve that problem?

I tried signing off and on again. I also tried deauthorizing and authorizing the system again. My last try would be deleting and downloading all the books but I would like to avoid that if possible. I would be thankful for some advise.

Well, this is just priceless! :) Someone on the software distribution night crew having some fun with us?
Limited time only! Upgrade your High Sierra to El Capitan!!! :D

No I don't think so. I have my TM on external SSD and it left it alone and it seems fine.

Airfoil and Airfoil Satelite were the problems. Uninstalled both, cleaned the system, restarted and It works perfectly. I have reinstalled only the Airfoil and it still works. I did not install satelite though.

Hi, I have this same issue, uninstalled Airfoil and Satellites, restarted, but I still have the issue. What do you mean by "cleaned the system"?

There seems to be an issue with the lid of the late 2016 MBP and the use of external displays in High Sierra.

When closing the lid and opening it back again, the external display blinks all yellow and the internal display all red.
I have to reboot to get back into the system.

When rebooting the internal display shows some strange graphical artefacts.

I am having an issue with the Sennheiser PC 373D headset and not having the Input show up under sound. I can hear the sound but cannot use the microphone attached to the headset since the iMac does not see the input method. I have already tried unplugging and replugging, resetting SMC and PRAM, power cycling, etc and nothing seems to work. Any ideas on why it all of a sudden after updating to High Sierra not work?

WTF the Maximum / Minimum Zoom amount in Accessibility is completely missing! I have bad eyes and need to zoom to a certain level to read smaller texts. Anyone know where it is or if there's a Terminal command to set Maximum Zoom magnification? It was under 'More Options' in Accessibility → Zoom till Sierra.

Appreciate any help, thanks!

I have two major issues with Finder since "upgrading" from 10.12.6 to 10.13.

The first one is that thumbnail previews for Microsoft Office files are missing at random (some files have, while others don't have a thumbnail preview; newly created files after the update lack a thumbnail as well). At the same time, in the "File Info" window the preview for Office files is basically an extremely blurry image, making it unusable. The furthermore applies also to iWork files. Curiously, the QuickLook functionality works properly and you can still preview all of these types of files, however, it's kind of hard to navigate around folders and find your files when a major part of your thumbnails have suddenly disappeared. I have tried various troubleshooting methods such as reinstalling MS Office, clearing Finder's preferences and clearing QuickLook's preferences, but to no avail.

The second issue I have is with the "Recents" and is so annoying that I almost want to smash my MacBook with a hammer and get a Windows computer instead. A just modified file does not always automatically and immediately appear at the top of "Recents". It could take minutes or even hours for the newly modified file to appear on top as it should. Meanwhile, when going to the respective folder, you can see that the file has been modified and if sorting is set by "Date Modified" it will be displayed on top. Relaunching Finder doesn't help at all. This has never been an issue with "All my files" in Sierra and earlier editions of the OS. You would think that macOS would be mature enough that its most fundamental application would work fine, but I guess High Sierra is going to be another round of disappointments.

Anyone else experiencing the bug where you wake from sleep and the graphics performance for openGL goes down dramatically until you reboot? This was an old bug back in the day and I've been experiencing in on all the High Sierra betas on my rMBP with Radeon 455. The intel GPU is unaffected.

I installed High Sierra yesterday I'm having this issue as well. After my 2016 rMBP (Radeon 460) has been asleep for a while, OpenGL performance is terrible and running anything like a game that directly uses OpenGL (e.g. Guild Wars 2) not only has about half the performance it did before, but it lags the entire OS. Restarting fixes it. Really, really annoying.

Edit: Have submitted a radar for it, 34677832 if anyone else is having the same issue and wants to reference it when submitting their own radar.

I habe noticed one bug in Sierra so far. Randomly when I open the lid on my rMBP 2015 13” after sleep mode it will wake up and show some glitchy multicolor stuff and then goes back to normal. It lasts 1 second, so maybe is some kind of bug with the integrated graphics

Only issue so far is that the text on the "Click to exit Full Screen" page when you have a screen playing video is all grayed out.

Anyone seeing an issue where they cannot switch between full screen apps consistently? I have multiple displays and right now cannot switch full screen apps at all (or any desktops) or bring up expose. Just non-responsive.

EDIT: Reset SMC and PRAM and seems ok so far

Anyone else having network issues?

Just upgraded to HS on my MBP 13" TB - straight away I've got no network access, HTTP or Apps won't work.

Web browser just gets an instant "ERR_ACCESS_DENIED" message.

No worries, I'll do some testing - ping is fine, as is DNS (nslookup), so I'll just try to telnet to something.

WHERE THE F* HAS telnet GONE?

Okay, I'll use SSH - instant "Operation not permitted" response.

Uninstall AV (BitDefender) and reboot, no change. Reboot again with PRAM reset, no change.

Tried Ethernet, different Wifi network & a hotspot from my phone - nothing works.

Wireshark capture of the Wireless shows my DNS requests & responses, but no HTTP traffic when I try to open a website from a browser - bloody confusing????

HTTPS traffic does seem to show up a bit in a capture, but still doesn't work.

Just to top it all off, I'm typing this from my Win8 VM under VMware Fusion on the same MBP & there's no network issues at all!

Anyone?

EDIT: Also, TouchID is no longer working! But fixed by (another) reboot.

Same here on a 15'' mid 2015 rMBP. The system is responsive as usual, memory pressure is pretty much always <20%, but the WindowServer process just keep on hogging memory a bit at a time.
Actually since no one seemed to be reporting anything like this these past few days I started thinking it was just me, and planning to perform a clean install, so I'm "glad" to know someone else noticed as well.

I upgraded to High Sierra and i noticed then when i choose a folder with pictures to run as my desktop background, in desktop and screensaver, it doesn't change in the order that i have the pictures set in, it just changes randomly and i can't get it to change in order like i used to be able too.

There are 2 options "Change Pictures" and it gives you a timeframe to choose from, from 5 seconds to everyday and below that there is a random order option but it doesn't seem to matter because the pictures change randomly no matter where its set.

Anyone else notice this and know how to get it to change in order and not randomly?

It was definitely a software firewall of some kind - activity monitor showed the HTTP traffic from Chrome wasn't even hitting "the network".

F U very much Intego Internet Suite, which was "removed" years ago but still had a lot of files & processes clogging up my system - removed manually from a bunch of locations (Library, etc) & a reboot - now network connectivity is back.'

What a PITA! But hope this helps anyone else with a similar issue :)

Exactly the same bug on my 2015 13". I remember something similar in some early versions of 10.12 but was fixed later.
