Sorry noob here can't figure out to post a new thread. Thanks to dosdude1 and others that make this patch possible for our clunkers Apple deems useless working for a while longer. I had MacBook Pro 5,5 and iMac10,1 working with beta 2 with patch 5 or 6 don't remember. Since then I can't get it working again with beta 3 + any patch. Always boot up and crash. Only option is to restart/shutdown. Tried 3 diff. USB and even SSD. Please help. I can't figure out to get log file.
btw, I have downloaded mojave image 3 times using patch, all the same results. When try to download from apple appstore only get 19MB installer.
Are you using the latest macOS Mojave patcher b12 the link on the OP

Yes patcher b12. Multiple downloads from link on OP. even went back all the way to b7. Both MacBook Pro and iMac behave exactly the same. Once installer comes up, select language, crash.
Never gets to the point where I can select disk to install/format.

Why doesn't it? It is so much faster
[doublepost=1532200575][/doublepost]Why did someone say the UI glitches are gone in beta 4 if they're not? Who was that?

Ah, you simply repeated someone else’s claim. I already reverted the wiki post edit so it’s all good.

Is your installer version 14.0.14?

yes. appreciate your responses Julian. I just can't think of any diff when I got it working once on both systems with beta2 image. Unfortunately I wipe my working USB installer because I had faith in newer installer to work.

Have you tried recreating the installer? Reinstalling the patcher or the macOS installer?

Probably ancient history by now but after a really slow (18 hours) migration of my 2TB High Sierra setup and an hour or so allowing various permissions and sorting iCloud, I've finally successfully updated my Mac Pro 3.1 to Mojave with full graphics acceleration.

What surprised me was how nippy it is even on the old 5900 drive I had to use, compared to High Sierra on a 7200. I'm looking forward to the final release now

Well done. Sit yourself down, have a break, and try not be bothered by all the bugs that using a beta software gets you.

Yes, multiple diff USB from 16G to 64G, downloaded multiple patchers, multiple macOS installers. I have tried any way I can think of but no luck. Previous installed beta 2 still boots up and works fine. I just want to wipe clean and install latest macOS.

You should report this to dosdude1 (just mention him in a post with your issue explanation). I have no idea how I can help you. I’m sorry.

are you trying to install on a internal or external ssd or hdd

MacOS Mojave works perfectly on my MacBook Pro 13" from Late 2011 (8.1). Everything works, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, etc...

Night mode is responsive and well designed, no "artifacts" have occured. The system is fluid and has the usual beta bugs. Siri is functional too. Here's a screenshot of my machine.

Hi - the new installer works. Maybe we can help if you give a few more details:

- which machine are you trying to reimage? You have two.
- Do they both boot fine to beta 2?
- are you re-creating your usb patcher on a Mojave beta or on another stable machine with High Sierra or lower?
- Which version of the patcher and which Mojave Release?
- How far do you get when you re-boot with the usb stick? Do you see the small side menu with post-install?

-MacBook Pro 5,5 and iMac 10,1
-Both work with beta 2 and MacBook Pro still boots/working. iMac wipe and trying to install beta 3. I can't re-created what was working because I deleted b2 image and not sure patcher version, believe b5/b6. did try b6 with beta3 image same.
-creating patcher with HS and re-format USB every time
-b12 and also tried older all the way back to b6. all the same results
-yes I see the side bar with languages selection. Once select 'English' and continue it crash. every single time on both systems.
Very appreciate every one here trying to help.

Ok.

- let's forget about older patcher versions. stick to the latest i think it is b12 (download a new one from page 1 just in case)
- which beta are you trying to install? Can you make sure you have dev beta 4 or public beta 3?
- on your stable HS machine:
- make sure you have the right Mojave beta: called "Install macOS Mojave Beta" it should be over 5GB in size
- connect a clean reformatted USB stick (your 16Gb should work fine) - set the volume name to something easy to recognize
- disconnect any other usb devices you have hooked up (so you don't make a mistake selecting volumes in patcher)
- start the patcher (b12) and re-create your USB stick per instructions
- it takes a while - wait till it says done (even though it may look like it is stalled)
- reboot with Option key and select the USB and try it again.
- good luck.

Don’t forget that the usb has to be formatted as Mac OS Extended Journaled.

I have done at least a dozen times now exact order you describe with multiple USB drives, download patchers and beta image with name as you mentioned. I even tried APFS format USB just to see if it makes any diff. all no go. always crash the same exact way. not giving up though. Image I get is 5.75G using patcher to download version 14.0.14.

Don't APFS format your usb (?) keep it as HFS+ as @0403979 suggested.
Is the machine you are upgrading APFS?
