Ok. I'm just paranoid about anything that can potentially gather even more info than they already have ;) . Plus I think Siri is only really designed for modern "supported" macs. Moving "Hey Siri" to the T2 chip is a strong indication of that.

What do you mean about staying in the "dark" about OpenGL?

I meant about the legacy unsupported (here supported) OpenGL video cards, hoping that they will not change something meaningful in future Metal API requirements.

edit:

About the developing/using of the future apps Metal-oriented I really don't care, since I use mainly apps developed years ago.

Anyway any last version app developed for HS 10.13.6 will be good for Mojave in OpenGL/CL mode.

They have officially deprecated OpenGL and OpenCL frameworks, but they will still ship with Mojave when it is released. That means you get the "deprecated - no longer supported" stock response from Apple engineering now. Sad, but they've been trying to dump OpenGL for over 10 years (remember QuickDraw?) . I just hope they at least open source the entire thing since they're done with it. But Apple+OpenGL is dead. Metal requirements are sure to evolve even faster now as its all becoming even more proprietary.

You never know Siri could be gathering info on what we modify or patch to get Mojave running on our unsupported Macs :(
Oh, you can be sure that marketing is keenly interested in who, what and how Siri is being used. So they have to capture the "signature" of Siri's clients. I have no doubt about that. All part of telemetry. How they anonymize that data and whether they will ever use it for nefarious means is up for debate .

Meanwhile I'm researching how to properly disable it on Mojave. I'm not sure if sudo launchctl unload -wF <path/to/plist> is enough.

would like NOT to download the DP5 file twice. does anyone know where the file is downloaded to, so one can copy it and use it to update another macOS installation - especially as a bootable USB drive? i have two other laptops... thanks.

From Software Update? Or from Mojave Patcher? If you use Software Update, you will have to download it for each machine. In Mojave Patcher, you specify the location to which it downloads the installer app.

Mojave Patcher will need an update before it can make a bootable USB drive with the DP5 installer. This will be done momentarily.

Do I still need this update to the Mojave Patcher or can I use "Software Update" from system preferences. I just checked through the latter and it says I have the latest (enrolled via the Developer Seed Program). Mahalo.

Edit: @dosdude1, I have and ran your version 2.0.1 Mojave Patcher.
Edit2: Correction on the Mojave Patcher version ~ It should be 1.0.2.

DP5 hasn't shown up yet here in Canada on System Update. I'm on a MBP 5,4...hopefully soon!

My machines aren't seeing the update through Software Update yet either. I'm assuming it will show up in a couple hours (seems to be some sort of time delay based on location/time zone).

I prefer to clean install for every new beta since I’m not actually using it as my main OS.

PS: The reason for that is the UI glitches.

3.08 gb update on my iMac 9,1 dev beta 5
My Beta 5 Installer is 5.88GB version 14.0.15

It seems it vary by machine model, since my DL size is different too from the others mine 3,89 GB.
I am updating from a MBP supported Mac however.

pre-edit:
I guess the size is based on your main system language locale.
Some different language could have different add-ons.
I think to those that download not showed in "Software Update" prefpane is not related to the timezone but to the enrollment with a dev account done from a supported machine.

edit:
They added more than ten new wallpapers, amazing.

Interesting. Never thought the full Installers would vary in size by machine model. The last beta 4 was also a little over 5GB. This is on my HS APFS 2017 laptop.
