Try this: Already patched Night Shift Corebrightness file
My patched binary file is based on cbpatcher by dosdude1.

It has worked till Mojave beta 9, I can't find a reason why it shouldn't work for beta 10 too.
You'd be the first to test it on Mojave beta 10.

Don't worry this file cannot destroy your Mac, it was correctly codesigned.
Will this work in 10.13.6?
[doublepost=1536093701][/doublepost]This is from Apple:

" macOS apps that use standard AppKit colors and are rebuilt with the macOS Mojave SDK will automatically appear in Dark Mode when the user turns on the setting.

For High Sierra 10.13.6 use this instead: High Sierra Night Shift patcher based on pikeralpha method

The only thing I noticed when it went into phase 2 of the boot process black screen white Apple logo it stayed black for a few minutes nothing changed in light mode or dark
Are you running a HDD or SSD? A few minute hang time on a SSD is definitely a glitch, on an old HDD it can be expected from time to time.

Thank you, this worked for me on my PB8 MBP. I'm waiting for the PB9 to be released so I can test it again. But I'm sure it will work.

I appreciate this quote of yours on the post regarding the CoreBrightness patched file - "everyone has the right to the night patch" - and may I add "irrespective of status, gender, race, creed".

Thanks again @jackluke.

Public Beta 9 is out as an update. it seems the Mojave installer app is not available, at least yet, until now, things were the other way around. The update seems to have needed more time to install then before and the OS runs much slower now.

I have had only one issue booting up on my iMac 9,1 APFS I used the Mojave patcher to download the newest beta update the Mojave patcher and installed over DP9and my MacBook 5,2 on hfs booted with no glitches

My MBP5,5 is still showing Public Beta 8. Installed on an external SSD formatted APFS.

So I am not sure how your PB9 update showed. Anyways, still waiting patiently.

Upgraded from DP9 to DP10 my iMac 10,1 using Software Update from System Preferences. The installation was rather fast. Had again the endless boot loop. Solved using the usual, booting from the USB stick with the Mojave Patcher. Open Terminal
Code:
rm -r /Volumes/Mojave/SystemLibrary/Extensions/*IOUSB*
cp -a /Volumes/macOS/SystemLibrary/Extensions/*IOUSB* /Volumes/Mojave/System/Library/Extensions/
Then close Terminal. Run Mojave Post Install tool and reinstall only USB related patches. Reboot with force cache rebuild.

Good suprise with DP10: my iSight is again working

For night Shift i applied

After unziping the downloaded file :

Code:
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine CoreBrightness

Then I installed it :
Code:
sudo cp CoreBrightness /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreBrightness.framework/Versions/A/

Night Shift started to work immediately. The only glitch is that i can only use with Custom Schedule. Trying to set it to "Sunset to Sunrise", opens a window asking location for time zone to be enabled. Opening Privacy Preferences does not solve as Time Zone & System Customisation is already checked

The Developer seeds pretty much lead the Public Beta seeds by a day.

I understand. I was just referring to @Vyzantion's post above regarding PB9 already out. So it made me wonder if my system preferences | software update is having an issue. I may have to go thru the mojave patch process (download latest beta/install/run macos post install/patch update). It's just a tedious process but no qualms if I have to go that route. Thanks.

Another painless update thru Software Update, only patch I had to run was audio, new OS seems okay, so far no problems with any apps I have run on 2010 iMac w/SSD. Did not Patch Legacy Video, yes no acceleration but no tears either and could run as daily driver with ho hum apps. Anything ie; Photo, Video editing, etc definitely a no. At least I know what apps I can & cannot run under Mojave. So far every app I run under HS runs on Mojave.

Edit; As dosdude1 has said without graphic acceleration on 2010-2011 iMacs, system runs in overdrive, runs hotter than normal, manageable but probably not recommended.

How did you correctly codesign it?
After Xcode Command Line Tools are installed:
Code:
sudo codesign -f -s - <path_to_mac_binary_exec>

@dosdude1 I still have a question;
Is it possible to block specific system files (kext, framework, etc) to not be changed upon macOS update?
For example, preventing pre-installed /S*/L*/E*/AppleHDA.kext to be replaced by Update Process. Thanks.

Try reinstalling the Apple public beta utility on OSX Daily its says the public beta is out

Thanks @TimothyR734

I followed your recommendation (reinstalling Public Beta Utility).

Screen Shot 2018-09-04 at 6.32.04 PM.png

As you can see, it started downloading a 6 gb file. Thinking it might be the full sized beta (not patched), I interrupted the download and stopped.

I may just have to follow @dosdude1's patch and post install processes.

That's not an upgrade... That's the old crappy Atheros card from a 2006/2007 model. That's why it doesn't work.

Can you link me to the wireless airport card that could work with a 7,1 mid 2010 Mac Book Pro? Mine used to work up to 10.13.4 then stopped working after 10.13.5 and until the Mojave beta 10.14, with hardware not installed x-mark on wifi status bar. Let me know, cheers and keep up the good work mate.

The WiFi card in that system works natively in both High Sierra and Mojave. I'd open the system and verify that the WiFi card cable is connected properly to the logic board (which is the smaller of the two cables connecting to the display, next to the optical drive). The card in these systems is not upgradeable.

DB 9 caused my MacBook Pro 6,2's fans to run full speed and the temp seemed to really get hot. Also, photos.app could cause the computer to kernel panic from time to time. Just updated to DB 10 through the settings app and everything worked perfectly. I was preparing to post install patch from USB upon install, however it booted right into OSX. I did notice the fans immediately slowed down and the computer started cooling down. However, audio wasn't available so I repatched from the patcher app and rebooted. All is working well again. Thanks again @dosdude1 for all your work!

@dosdude1 My MacBookPro 7,1 loses access to my bottom RAM slot after rebooting, is the slot broken? Seems to come back randomly. Now I only have 2GB, also have when my Mac is in sleep it can't wake, I have to force shut it down?
