"I also have 2 Blackbooks with 5,2 logic boards in them. Did you break the screw posts off the base of the white bottom casing and screw them to the back of the heatsink before installing the board? Also there was a patch from High Sierra that may/not work. I should try Mojave on mine http://dosdude1.com/sierra/bkltpatch.sh.zip"

I used self tapping machine screws on the posts that didn't line up - screwed them into the aluminum sleeve that lines the plastic post then vacuumed and dusted to remove any particles.

No Gold Master today?

I'm starting to believe that the "News and Updates" insiders, during the web page updating, have done a typing mistake, most probably build 18A389 is the GM.

edit:
If I knew, I would have updated on September 12th.

Probably, if not then we only have wednesday for the GM but that would leave only 4 days before the final release.

"Re-install the Partial Keyboard/Trackpad patch, and Backlight Control Patch using Patch Updater, and it should work fully."

Ended up wiping and doing a clean install then used Patch Updater - it worked. Thanks for all your work and consulting. You should create a new OS that can replace macOS for when Apple no longer sells desktops and laptops.

OK here are two screenshots showing my Crucial drive on my MacBook Pro 2010 7,1 let me know what you think. It has the Nividia chipset. My link speed is 3 Gigabit and negotiated link speed is 3 Gigabit.

Noticed that TRIM Support is No. Does that mean TRIM is not enabled or that it can't be enabled on that drive?

I bet you guys are checking for updates every minute on the minute :D to confirm who is on first :p

Who ever comes first should get a Trophy Point on this site. I haven't seen nor noticed any user receiving a trophy point (not even the well deserved @dosdude1). Do you know who did and what exactly have they done to deserve one? Thanks.

I assumed it was a built-in feature of the forum software that was left unused but forgot to hide altogether. That would explain why nobody has them and they aren't mentioned anywhere.

If I guessed right, do I get one? :)

Fair. I'm impressed every time. My manual re-installs (still on HFS+) don't stand a chance!

Are you still on HFS+ with MacBook7,1 natively supported APFS ?
You know, if you like you can keep the whole HFS+ disk GUID structure, and for example splitting a partition creating a container for APFS, then inside that container your main APFS Volume, but preserving the main disk as HFS+, I mean you can have an APFS inside a HFS+, I do have that and it's perfectly working, no conflicts, but honestly HFS+ is still much stable and preferable, especially in disk utility features.

edit:
The funny part, assuming that the "FAT32 EFI partition" is always disk0s1, your main HFS+ disk will be seen as disk0s2, while the APFS container scheme (namely a previous HFS+ disk0s3) as disk1 and the main APFS Volume inside as disk1s1 and not only, inside there will be all the hidden partitions: Preboot (disk1s2), Recovery (disk1s3) and VM (disk1s4), viewable/mountable only through Terminal with "diskutil list" and "diskutil mount /dev/disk1sY"

Is there possibly a consolidated place to read specifically about 3,1 and Mojave?

Have the bullet points, but interested in more fine details, and don't come across many talking about it so far.

Assuming that you are already running patched High Sierra, there aren't that many differences. If you upgraded already to a BCM94322MC based AirPort Extreme card, the supplied drivers in Mojave work fine. If you don't have a metal compatible Nvidia card like the GTX 680 installed, you will need to install the legacy video drivers for cards like the ATI HD2600 XT.

I think DB11 smells and tastes like GM candidate to me. At this point, I think cautious timing with other key releases is the primary reason Mojave GM is taking a back seat. The frameworks look pretty stable already. We can't forget that a lot of premium 3rd party products like Adobe Microsoft and NVidia also have to get their ducks in a row...

Many of us have 3,1s. A forum search for 3,1 or 3.1 may help. Otherwise it's pretty smooth if you have a compatible wifi and metal card. Lots of good options for you here.
