Hello guys, I have a quick question. Is it possible to use HandOff and Universal Clipboard on a patched Mac (in my case MacBook 5,2). If it is please tell me how :) (System Preferences does not show me the option)

Thanks!

Should work with the continuity activation tool and a BT dongle.

Hello guys, first: thank to all those who made this possible, second: I have a problem and I wish that you could help me, I clean installed macOS (10.14.0) and applied update from System Preferences(10.14.1), then when I tried to boot from the USB to run the post install fix, it won't boot it just keeps loading like the pic bellow.

I formatted the USB and downloaded the latest patcher 1.2.3(I use macOS Mojave-Build 18A391 to apply the patch into the USB), and after that it still won't boot and just keep loading like the pic bellow.

so what would you advise me to do?
(should I format the usb to GUID partition map or Apple partition map? I already used MBR)- I of course formatted it into MacOS extended Journaled-
I hope you can help me

Tanks!

Hold Command+V when you turn it on. Post the log output here so we can debug what's happening.

Do you think there’s any way to do the opposite? I want to get Leopard running on my MB7,1, just for fun.
VirtualBox.

Snow Leopard will run natively, though. (Even though the computer came with Lion)

Macbook 8,1 here

Notes app doesn't work (just crashes on opening) and dark theme resets to normal from time to time. 10.14.1, all patches are up to date.

Assuming you mean MacBookPro8,1? I don't think MacBook8,1 exists.

Sounds like a reinstall might be in order, the dark theme resetting glitch hasn't been reported with anybody else.

If Notes keeps crashing, post the crash report. It runs on my MacBook7,1 so Metal isn't a dependency.

There's no way I can copy drivers or something?

I haven't noticed any other problems, though on 10.14 it would sometimes fail to load file and folder icons. If I recall correctly this happened after it had been asleep for a while and I'd woken it up, so a restart would usually resolve the issue, but it happened often enough to be annoying. I haven't noticed that behavior with 10.14.1 yet but I've been in the habit of shutting it down rather than putting it to sleep, so I'll test it out and let you know if it repeats. Before Mojave I ran 10.13 on the same MacBook5,1 and it worked beautifully. If I have any persistent issues with Mojave I'd have no problem "downgrading" to High Sierra, other than missing out on the new News and Stocks and Voice Memos apps...and the latest emojis of course!
Thanks!
My 5,1 has been working great in 10.12, I'm glad that 10,13 is still an option if 10.14 doesn't work that well.

Can you elaborate more please?
when I boot to flash drive, I press Command+V then? what do I do next? (as it does not log into flash drive just keep loading)
Hold Command+V as you select the drive in the boot menu. This should put it in verbose mode, showing text messages of what's happening as it boots. That'll give us clues as to what's going wrong.

Drivers from a newer system won't generally work on an older one. Maybe the ones from Snow Leopard will work on Leopard, but I haven't tried it. I believe a 10.5.x install disc will KP on a MB7,1 though, I tried it once a few years ago.

With some effort, you might get Leopard working. I doubt much time has been put into figuring it out.

Hello everybody
Mayday mayday :-(
I've "tried" to Patch the BootROM of a MacBook Pro 5,3.
All the process seems to went right (I also check the chip on the mother board) but I can not boot !
I have beeps and the LED is blinking.
What can I do ?
I really need your help !

Hello everyone owners of Macbook7,1 (and I guess of any C2D Penryn Mac) with Mojave beta 4, I do have a weird issue, everything is working, except into System Preferences when I try to open some elements I got this message:

Preferences Error
"You can’t open
File.prefpane because it doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac."

Where File.prefpane is any of: Keyboard/Mouse/Trackpad

I have tried replacing them from a previous HS version but it doesn't worked, I mean they have the same behavior.

edit:
Another weird thing is when using "dark mode", opening System Preferences, the "Users & groups" and "Accessibility" panes after opened (they only) turn back in a "light mode" window, while overall is still in dark mode.

edit2:
It occurs even on a supported Mac booting from the same Mojave beta 4 external SSD, while instead booting from internal SSD Mojave beta 2 it doesn't occur.

Maybe since those are all usb input devices it's something related to the manual IOUSB*** kext patching or to Mojave beta 4? Hoping is beta 4 general issue.

i just had this same thing happen to me. only on 10,13 i posted about it on that thread the only fix i seen was to do some thing i dont know what. to get it all to work with the catch of no more night shift. that workaround don't work for me as it was working 100% tell i discovered it today.

whats not working

keyboard, trackpad, and mouse preference panes. they all now apparently don't work on Intel macs. just to test any one know if there is a way to remove the nightshift patch ?

How can I re program the rom chip? I have the dump which I hope is good.
An other solution, is someone able to flash it for me?
Where can I found a spare part ?

Log for Verbose Mode

I'm using the verbose boot mode - "sudo nvram boot-args="-no_compat_check -v"" on my Mojave unsupported MBP. Where (what folder and file) can I see and review the verbose boot log?

Thanks.

I did it and showed me messages but how to save it? also it keeps on executing where do I know that this is enough as it just keep loading and won't open?
I apologies as I am not of expert I hope you can elaborate more :)

-I tried a usb with High Sierra OS installation on it and it booted normally, just can't do so with the patched one

I had the same problem but on High Sierra OS I searched and tried the solutions on the web but with no use so I formatted the drive.

Did the patch finish? As many posted it can take a while. Did you try SMC and or NVRAM reset?
Yes the patch finished with the successful message. It took about 15 minutes as said.
I tried smc and nvram reset without success.
Thank you for your suggestions.

Ps excuse my writting, I’m French.

It appears that a tweak or re-work of the legacy video patch is going to be required for the 8,2 when 10.14.2 is released, as it no longer disables the discrete AMD GPU.

I was able to seamlessly perform an OTA update via System Preferences Software Update the APFS formatted partition of an external SSD from 10.14.1 to 10.14.2 B3 without the necessity of post-install patching, and noted that the discrete AMD 6490M GPU of my 8,2 was indicated as being used instead of the Intel HD3000 (elevated temperatures around the GPU appeared to confirm this). Curiosity led me to apply the appropriate post-install patches for the 8,2 to the volume, to see if the Legacy Video Patch would have any affect. It didn't.

Can I get Night Mode on my MacBook Pro 2011?

If you are referring to "Night Shift", the answer is yes.

Hello... again,
I have found this ebay store
https://www.ebay.com/str/bioschipstore
any other ideas and or advices?

People who's changed the BootROM Chip, where did you find the chip?
If I want to reprogram it, what do I need ? @dosdude1 on your youtube I've seen some chip programmer. Am I right ?

I don't know if it is allowed to post his URL. If not, I'll remove it.
Cheers,
I bought mine from ebay and soldered it myself

Might depend on the model or maybe on the built of HS?
Perhaps.
Got my cables today and it still works on old MBP4,1 under Mojave. Great.
We could even connect to a Freescale eval board.

Might also be of interest to the rest here: The tool "LineIn" can mux input to output in any combination, so it´s great to play through from digital in to internal speakers etc.

I know, this is pretty amazing. You can even connect your iPhone (Lightning required) and use it to stream music through your mac (if you have some nice speakers connected to your mac for example).

Just go to Utilities, Audio MIDI Setup and enable your iPhone. After that you can select it as an input source (Trusted iPhone - Mac connection required).

Hi all. I have the GM installed on a Late 2008 aluminium Macbook 5,1 working great. However, I still can't do any updates! I have the latest patcher 1.2.3 and tried updating to 10.14.2 beta 3 from system preferences and still get stuck on the white and apple logo bootscreen. The loading bar goes all the way and hangs.

Hello to everyone on this forum.
I upgraded to MacOS Mojave my MacBook Pro 8.2 late 2011 and everything works fine.
Great patch. Congratulations to the team.
The only problem I have is only the battery draining.
No one is perfect.
