English version: Luck-br has 10.14.0 running fine but can't get v1.2.3 of the patch to work for 10.14.1 or 10.14.2. Thye've tried several USB drives, so they don't think that is the problem. Screenshots above.

It is normal to update via OTA without the patch, however it is necessary to reapply the post-install patch so that the system does not receive Kernel Panic.

Após reinstalar o Sierra consegui gravar pendrive. Agora consegui atualizar para Mojave 10.14.2. Tudo bem agora.

Hybrid Mode update for 10.14.2 is released

v1.4 is available here.

Release Notes and Installation Instructions here. Previous posts on the subject are always helpful.

NOTE: this is purely a compatibility release. These patches (as stated often) are NOT backwards compatible and not recommended if you are playing with the latest 10.14.3 betas.

Enjoy (file issues in the github repo)

Thanks !

Can anyone explain to me the difference between flat mode and hybrid mode? If this has already been explained, I'm sorry, but I do not feel the courage to search the 500 pages, and the search on the thread does not give me anything :(

Flat = Finder notransparence, menubar no transparence (dock transparence, Notification Center transparence)
Hybrid = Finder transparence, Dock transparence, Notification Center transparence (menubar no transparence)

Thank you very much @pkouame and the rest of the team. That's working for me.

This is going to be a great deal of work over the lifetime of 10.14 – isn't it?

[Sarcasm ON] Are you hiring? How much is the minimum wage? [Sarcasm OFF]

Thank you. See all the able collaborators/testers here and cited on the github home page.

"High Mojave" (10.15) will probably need the same care, so this patch (in other forms) will still be necessary for Light Mode lovers. If HS is any indication, we should expect at least half a dozen "official" Mojave patches...

There is no problem: Hybrid zip only has two files!

Read the detailed instructions on the site. Installation is very simple: unzip - backup two files - copy two files - reboot.

what about "CoreUI" there is no file to replace

In hybrid mode there 2 files to replace :

•HIToolboxHybrid-18C54-Fat-v1.4
•CoreUIHybrid-18C54-Fat-v1.4

  • For HIToolbox : /S*/L*/Frameworks/Carbon.framework/Frameworks/HIToolbox.framework/Versions/Current/HIToolbox
  • For CoreUI: /S*/L*/PrivateFrameworks/CoreUI.framework/Versions/Current/CoreUI

Thank you very much @pkouame. Now a quick question. Is it possible to completely disappear the black line frame surrounding every window in the dark mode? Without it things will look very neat and clean. Also like this all dark transparencies will look like the Dark mode transparencies in Windows 10 1809.

Interesting. I'm sure it's possible to alter the frame/border and even color. Off the top of my head, you could trace the code that triggers High Contrast in Accessibility as it plays with just those kinds of settings. Mostly in AppKit I believe.

On a fresh update (14.1 and 14.2), done with the correct way of updating (through a new USB stick) and before applying any of the 2 modes you can see in the right click pop-ups from the dock some sides having black borders an others without. Without the black border the pop-up looks just stunning. Same is for every element that has the black border frame. Very sleek look.

Thanks!
My 5,1 has been working great in 10.12, I'm glad that 10,13 is still an option if 10.14 doesn't work that well.

FYI: I did run into one problem yesterday with my MacBook5,1 (currently running 10.14.1): I inserted a recent DVD into the built-in optical drive, but it wouldn't play. It did recognize the disc as a DVD, and auto-launched the DVD player app, but it didn't start auto-playing the DVD main menu as it usually would, and it didn't respond when I clicked the Play and Menu buttons. I didn't try playing a DVD when I was running the patched version of 10.14.0, so I don't know if this is a new or existing bug. But I did try playing the DVD on an officially supported Mac running Mojave and it worked fine.

Do you have any idea why DVDs might not respond/play under patched versions of Mojave, @dosdude1 ?

Kind of confused. Been waiting for patcher 1.2.4 to install OS 14.2 but I see that many have already installed this OS. Will patcher 1.2.3 install OS 14.2 without issue? Thanks again.
