Even closer. I´d bet on max. 200km distance.
I can send you the list of kexts or the kexts in a zip file, but I do not want to bloat things up with unnecessary or outdated versions that are not really needed for the 4,1. But I´m on it right now so this can be done today. Stay tuned. Thanks!

When you prepared all-in stuffs ready for Macbook4,1 would be great if you upload also the 10.14 prelinkedkernel obtained, but here on macrumors there is a size upload limit, so it should be splitted in parts.

I'll build one for the installer. I'm pretty sure the 10.14.0 works for all installers. I'd usually do one for each version but for these exceptional devices I simply can't.

Hello,
I have installed Mojave on my early 2008 mbp, all good, even better now the WiFi works, the only issue is the trackpad, there’s no touch click, or more importantly, no right click. Is there a fix for this?
Will the Magic Trackpad 2 work if I buy a Bluetooth 4 USB? Alternatively, I’d there a version of OSX after snow Leopard that supports the macbook pro 4.1? Thanks for your help :)

MacBook 4,1: Officially supported up to 10.7.5 (as of today runs 10.14.4 inofficially)
MacBook Pro 4,1: Officially supported up to 10.11.6 (runs 10.14.4 inofficially perfectly fine, incl. touchpad and right click. Perhaps you have to enable it as secondary click?)
And yes, USB or bluetooth external trackpads, magic mice, etc. will work!

As soon as I have the USB kexts I'd declare it officially supported. (At least on my tool.)

Exciting.
Here we go: Full (10.14.4 b4 differential) kext package for MB 4,1 - link to dropbox archive. Will be removed as soon as we have a confirmed fully working patcher...

https://www.dropbox.com/s/61cbwxy49qsn3jl/MB4,1 extensions.zip?dl=0

(I am not sure if the USBInjectAll.kext is really needed or a leftover from my experiments yesterday - will check later. At the moment, it is loaded at startup but at least does not interfere in a bad way).

Edit
USBInjectAll is not needed and can be left out.

These are all different from those of other devices correct?
I have not thoroughly checked on a binary diff or version basis, so if you encounter same version(s) of kext(s) that you already have on a non-patched or dosdude1-patched system, then omit them by all means.
It is just what I have added from various sources to get the MB4,1 running...

Do the tags have a meaning? Where do I put these? Should I use with the Lion audio drivers or these ones from an unknown version?

Should I stick with the Lion audio kexts or use these ones from an unknown version?
I´d like to use the proven audio kexts from perhaps two os versions...
The color tags were originally an indicator of how severe the outcome would be in case of non-inclusion in a prelinked kernel and cache. They were set by Collin Mistr in his USB beta archive as far as I recall. The USBInjectAll.kext is derived from the hackintosh scene ;-)
I´m happy that I did not have to exercise Clover experiments and bootrom bricks on a real mac ;-)

Hi all,

I am on a Mac Pro 3,1 with an unflashed 750 Ti, running Sierra 10.12.6. Whatever I do, I can't boot from a usb drive. I can't even use single user mode. I used mojave patcher from dosdude and while I am able to select the usb drive from startup disk on system preferences nothing happens when the computer restarts except for a black screen. I tried 3 times and waited from 15 to 20 minutes and still nothing. In order to do a clean install of macOS Mojave, is my ONLY OPTION to put back my original EFI-flashed GPU and after the installation of Mojave change the GPU again ? I ordered a used Nvidia Quadro k5000 which is officially metal supported. I just need some guidance regarding the steps I need to follow in order to do a clean install of macOS Mojave on my PCIe AHCI SSD. Thank You, In Advance.

I've just updated my tool. It should work semi-perfectly on the MacBook4,1 now.
Thank you, Julian!
I´ll give it a try within a couple of days and provide feedback (I'm sure there will be some quirks to be ironed out).
But first I´ll clone the working system from my MB 4,1 to a spare drive to have a safe backup.
I assume your patcher works with the latest vanilla 10.14.3 installer?

Please let me know if you find any issues and I'll get them worked out as soon as possible. I would recommend cloning since I can only test on a MacBook7,1 and there may undiscovered issues. My patcher works with any installer from 10.12.0 all the way up to 10.14.3 supplemental although at the moment, only Mojave is supported on the MacBook4,1. Don't forget to run the unpatch tool and reinstall before running my patch tool. This will get rid of all the residual files from dosdude1's patcher.

The only features missing from my patcher that dosdude1's has is obviously a GUI (which I have no plans to implement due to lack of knowledge and lack of requirement) and the patcher updater tool (I'm planning a similar update detection feature but no eta at the moment, I'm afraid any patching updates will have to be done from a usb.

I do however have many features that dosdude1 does not. For example, live package patching (meaning your installer will always have the up to date system components that will patched on the spot), an unpatching tool (useful for switching patchers or to a supported device), a transparency tool (allowing you to fix transparency related issues easily, courtesy of SpiraMira and testheit), support for update package patching, support for multiple versions, support for simple installer creation of any version, support for apfs recovery partitions (courtesy of jackluke), now support for the MacBook4,1, and many more features.

Have I earned a spot on the credits list yet?

I´d advocate that entry in the "hall of fame" for the work done at least. All the more, should the patcher work for MB 4,1 - well see in a couple of hours / days ;-)

btw, here´s a link to an actual recording of video playback on the MB 4,1 with Mojave (way better than back in the days of unaccelerated Yosemite on MB4,1 - Apple seems to have increased the efficiency of their decoders while transiting away from OpenGL?!). No dropped choppy frames any more, even with 720p or 1080p streams.

Make sure to watch it after download or switch to 720HD if streaming directly from dropbox! Pls. excuse the remaining artifacts, 1280x800 is grainy to the iPhone X camera... real outcome is so much better!

You also deserve a spot in the hall of fame. Your dedication to what seemed to be impossible is amazing. Well done for all your time and effort. The speed of this is really amazing. I could see myself using this for light web browsing. I wonder if I can get a relatively cheap black MacBook here to use for fun. As for those who say I copied stuff. I sure did. I copied ideas and thoughts but I executed them with my own code. I have built up so much more in this than any copying could have achieved. I have spent hours and hours coding intrecit code to mount an apfs recovery volume. I have put in a lot of implementational work but I greatly appreciate the amazing research that has allowed me to do so. Thank you all for your amazing discoveries.

I have an old MacBook 2,1 flying around. If only 10.11 would work the same way 10.14 performs on your 4,1 I would be more than happy.
Well done you two! I'm impressed!
I’m not saying I didn’t do anything but I didn’t actually have to do much work to implement this.

Oh I've been there. But the performance is really nothing one would enjoy. It's sluggish and not nice at all.
I mean it looks nice if you just stare at the desktop and don't do anything, but I guess that's not the goal.
