this is only for 10.14.4?
What about 10.14.3?

I could use some help I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro 13” 8,1. I have 10.14.3 beta running fine. Installed 10.14.4 and it boots in the system using the directions in the post m however I don’t have any accelerated graphics. If I apply the patches after running install.sh then it will boot to where the spinning wheel freezes. I did have the intel HD3000 Kext for 1024 upgrade installed and working before I upgraded. When it reboots that is back to 512. Putting back the Kext doesn’t have any affect on acceleration. One thing I noticed when installing install.sh and entering password the terminal showed no such files found and that was it.

Thx you I followed those instruction but no graphics acceleration. It boots and runs though. Did the install the way its described in the post for 10.14.4
Did you re-install the Legacy Video Card Patch afterwards?

Yes and when I did that with the patcher update in utilities it would only boot to where the spinner froze
[doublepost=1552090261][/doublepost]did it this way and it all worked as described but no acceleration of video.

The 1024 MB for HD3000 kext is a hex byte modification that allow to share more RAM quantity, I did kext already modified for that, give me a while to find my post: IntelHD3000 Mojave/HighSierra all VRAM combinations

just install through Terminal those kext and following the dosdude1's 10.14.4accel patch and others tips, you will get video acceleration on that machine.

Ok thank you I got it to work. If I try and change the Graphics from 512MB to 1024 then it hangs. Other than that it works perfect. Any thoughts on that?

Only thing not working is the Activity monitor, GPU History and Istat GPU reports Zero for GPU.

Absolutely loving the support from you guys for installing Mojave in these older Macs. They've got so much more life left in them!

I've been doing some experimenting on my 13" MBP 8.1. I'm trying to install on an external drive to play around with it. However I can't get the patches to work (no sound or graphics acceleration - Intel HD). Funnily enough the patches install fine if I dual boot but i don't have the space to maintain this. I got the patches working on an old external HDD via USB too but this drive is ..... incredibly slow. I'm trying to install onto a flash drive or SD Card, I just can't get the patches to install.

Am I missing something? Even applying the patches manually (if possible) would be good! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

So just wanted to update incase anyone comes cross similar issues. I managed to find a solution, it seemed the videocard patch wouldn't install from the Mojave installer only when trying to patch to SD card or USB Flash. So after install I manually copied the all the files files from the post install application within the Mojave installer (folder named intelarrandalegrapics), to the system/library/extensions folder and all is well, full graphics acceleration restored! (Intel HD)

Can't explain why it would install normally when on a USB external HDD but not an SD card/flash drive though. Anyway I hope this helps anyone else who is stuck in a similar situation.

Alright, got everything figured out! To get acceleration working under 10.14.4 with a non-Metal GPU, just download this archive, extract it, cd into the extracted directory using Terminal, and then run ./install.sh. Please ensure you have the Legacy Video Card Patch installed properly (you can re-apply it with the post-install patch, or re-install it using Patch Updater after running the script just to be sure). After rebooting, you should now have full graphics acceleration!

I'm thrilled to be working with a stable clean install of 10.4.3 and the patch and wi-fi all work wonderfully. Thank you @parrotgeek1 for your brilliant work!

But, I need to take advantage of my Nvidia Fermi Quattro 4000 card for use with Adobe apps, especially Lightroom CC 2019. Unless Nvidia writes some drivers, it seems that card will never be supported under Mojave. So, I am building a new High Sierra boot drive.

My question is the need to still do the "-- Note: Make sure SIP is disabled on the system you intend to install High Sierra on. If it's not or you're unsure, just boot into your Recovery partition of your currently installed copy of OS X, open Terminal, and run "csrutil disable". process.

The updated patch tool seemed to eliminate the need to do this with Mojave, but wasn't sure if it's still required with High Sierra? Does the latest patch tool eliminate the need to go through the disable SIP process with High Sierra? Thanks again!

SIP does not need to be disabled manually with High Sierra Patcher either, I added that in later versions. Also, you should be able to get your Quadro working in Mojave by applying the Legacy Video Card Patch in the post-install tool.

Thanks. I should have clarified this. The reason for the SIP question is that the instruction page still has it included, but I figured that since the Mojave updater has a patch option, that it's not necessary anymore, but it wasn't documented, so I wasn't entirely sure.

Mojave does run well on my 3,1. A bit laggy with graphics, but the Legacy Video Card Patch works brilliantly! My issue is that my work requires GPU Acceleration, so it seems, at the present time, that the only solution is to run High Sierra. Do you think there is a way to get GPU acceleration on non-metal GPUs in the future? That would allow users to have GPU acceleration under Mojave. Buying another GPU card is almost as expensive as a new Mac Mini, which would outperform my Mac Pro, so it doesn't make sense to me, so I'd like to stick with my Fermi 4000 card.

Other apps that seem to work fine with the Mojave patch on my Mac Pro 3,1 are: EyeTV, SoftRaid, Apple Mail, Amarra Luxe, Amarra SQ, Decibel, Korg Gateway, Adobe Lightroom CC (no GPU acceleration), Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe InDesign CC, Adobe Bridge CC, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Camera RAW, and Silicone Dust HomeRun HD, among others.

It's truly amazing what you have accomplished.

The whole point of the Legacy Video Card patch is to enable acceleration with non-Metal video cards. So if you have it installed, you should have full acceleration (with transparency, smooth animations, etc).

can the 2011 mbp get transparency though on dark mode without the weird corners? or which devices you talking about?

Deleting the platformsupport file will also work. Please tell me what version these kexts are from. I could add preliminary MB4,1 support to my patcher if you want?
That support in your patcher would be welcome, as others drop out and I seem to be on my own here otherwise.
The kexts (as far as I remember) are from Yosemite or earlier - cannot be sure as I took them from a patched 10.10.5 system and not from vanilla installation.

I checked the version numbers, though - hope that helps as well:
AppleHDA.kext is v. 2.1.7 (2011)
IOAudioFamily.kext is v. 1.8.9 (2012)

I assume you meant 10.14.3 (which makes only 2 microgram more sense than 10.13.3).
The script is not needed for 10.14.3 as OpenGL in combination with the window server still works as in all previous patches. Only for 10.14.4 the situation changed. I had the same error outputs when I tried this on my machines, so I copied the bundle files manually to their locations in /Frameworks and /PrivateFrameworks as indicated in the script (that you can open/edit with textedit i.e.).
Correct the file attributes/permissions afterwards and you should be fine running 10.14.4 then.

Those two kexts are the only ones required on top of the rest? The issue is how to set it up and configure the screen sharing without keyboard support? Maybe I could include some plists for sharing settings and maybe a default user account. Any idea where I could find the files that determine wether an account is present and set up?

Yes, instead of the kexts that the legacy audio patch uses.
Good idea with the preset user account, but I fear it´s too complicated. Instead, swapping drives to complete the setup (i.e. with Teleport) seems way easier. I´ll gather more experience when I can finally try the USB card with the right cable set in the MB 4,1 - in that case, the Lacie kexts would be fine to be included in your patcher. I´ll keep you posted! ;-)

I’ll have to do some testing on the user issue. I’ll also look at the versions of the kexts. Is there any other model like the macbook4,1 or is it just the macbook4,1 that kinda works but isn’t supported?

I guess the whole bunch of iMac and MacMinis that could run Mojave after a processor swap (for SSE4) would be in that league, potentially. Have a MacMini 2,1 here where I´ll try to find out if a processor is available for that socket and if it could be under-clocked to 667MHz FSB instead of 800MHz. Found nothing definitive on the net, so will try myself...

I’ll just add an option in the custom model selection for developer testing.

I posted this in another thread but I'll try it here, too...

I have been slowly working on getting my 12,1 21.5" iMac working and have finally gotten some success!! I had a dead AMD video card so as a replacement, I ordered this card on ebay:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Preci...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

I got the x-mount drilled out, installed the card, and after being so anxious I forgot to install the memory, installed the memory and the machine is booting up into High Sierra just fine. I've been running it since last night and have had zero issues (knock on wood). My issue, though...

Obviously this card doesn't show display upon initial boot until the OS loading screen comes up and I want to install Mojave. I have downloaded the Mojave patcher and created a USB drive with the installer on it but since I have no display until the loading screen, I cannot access the boot drive selection screen. So my questions is: how do I install Mojave on this machine if I can't access/see the boot selection screen?

Boot into High Sierra, open System Preferences, click Startup Disk, and select a disk to startup from.
