Am I the only one that cannot find Mojave Patcher 1.3.0?

It's still at http://dosdude1.com/mojave/
...right after the line "• A copy of the tool - Download:"

The specific URL to Mojave Patcher 1.3.0 is:
https://ipfs.io/ipfs/QmT7r7bnuXqkx93voJZJwQeXMVa9zZPTakcWHZp1rsRsVN/macOS Mojave Patcher.dmg

[doublepost=1553639944][/doublepost]I was able to get my Macbook5,2 (Mid 2009) backlight buttons to work again today by installing the patch posted by @dosdude1 in message 11156. But if this patch has been included in all versions of his Patch Updater since December 2018, and is included in Mojave Patcher 1.3.0, I'm curious why it didn't work after I updated to 10.14.4 using that latest version of Mojave Patcher, even after I reinstalled the patches using Patch Updater? For what it's worth, the version of 'Backlight Control Patch' I see listed in Patch Updater is version 1 (meaning, I guess, it's the second version since dosdude1 counts versions as starting at zero).

After update 10.14 => 10.14.4 Telegram Desktop started looking like this (screenshot attached) both for dark and light theme.

No changes were made to the app after update, and it had all controls visible on 10.14. What could cause this issue? And is there a way to fix it?
Telegram (not Telegram Desktop) from App Store still works fine on 10.14.4, but I'd rather use Telegram Desktop.

macOS Patcher has been updated with full installer support for 10.14.4 including on the MacBook4,1, the Siri patch for 10.14.4, and some minor bug fixes and improvements.
Did some testing with today´s version of your script, installer 10.14.4 final and MacBook 4,1.
Good news: The patch creates a bootable installer that runs on MB 4,1.
Still not so good: The outcome of the installation boots on MB4,1, but has wrong prelinked kernel (does not contain the USB fixes) and shortly after initializing the window manager crashes/reboots (as if C2D fix and/or HS telemetry plugin are not there).

Took the drive to another working Mac,
did one round of dosdude1-installer post patch (for MB 5,2 without audio, USB, graphics patches), supplied the MB4,1 specific kexts and rebuilt the prelinked kernel.
Drive back into MB4,1 -> now it boots to the finder desktop.

Did you manage to find a way to update just the patcher without re-installing the Mojave image? I managed to break my MacBook by updating without reading that the patcher needed to be updated first, and now I can’t update my USB thumb drive with the new version of the patcher because I have no MacBook to do it on :-(

Can you boot into single user mode using CMD+S? Maybe you could try the command that I use to get into recovery.

sudo nvram boot-args="-no_compat_check”

If you can't boot at all you might be able to load up into your existing USB installer and type that into terminal, reboot and try again? Worth a shot!

APFS does not work when upgrading from 10.14.3 (via System Update) to 10.14.4 and neither does doing a fresh install when using v1.3.0 of @dosdude1 Mojave Patcher do do a clean/fresh install. I ran the post install both normally and with forced cache rebuild but all it does is boot to a grey screen and then boot back into the USB installer.

@telepati stated that using HFS does but I can confirm that APFS does not work on my MBP 5, 4.

Can you please supply that prelinkedkernel for me? I could build it but this would save me a step.

EDIT: I went ahead and did this myself. I got it to boot following your steps above, then had to install parrotgeek's wifi fix, which built yet another prelinked kernel. Wifi now works. The machine still silently panics upon reboot, but everything seems to work ok.

Hey thanks very much for the suggestion. So, I can boot into single user mode, but then entering that line still doesn’t let me boot into recovery or safe mode, as when I try to boot into safe mode all I get is the ‘resticted’ icon… I don’t know if that’s what you are trying to suggest? Right now, I can still boot from the Mojave patcher USB, at least to the Mojave install screen, but I have no way to update whatever it is in the patcher that will hopefully get my system booting again because I don’t have access to another Mac with which to update or create a completely new USB drive…

I have a Windows machine but obviously this can’t read/write to my Mojave patcher drive… I’m wondering if I install Paragon or something that will let me read/write to the stick, whether I will be able to update the Mojave patchier from there?
[doublepost=1553647261][/doublepost]So I’m limited to working on a Windows machine for this, and I’m trying to update the patcher tool so that I can get my Mac working again…

I’ve managed to get access to the DMG containing the latest version of the patcher, and also the USB stick containing the old version of the patcher/Mojave install image…

Can anyone tell me where to drag the updated files to overwrite my old patcher? Or is this simply not possible via Windows machine?!

I downloaded the new Patcher (1.30)(THANK YOU!!) and out habit use it to get the update to put it all in my files, then grabbed my Patcher Flash Drive and just continued to redo it to the new system. Later that evening I sat down with my MacBook Pro 7,1 that I have been "Frankensteining" and up dated it. When all done it took forever to boot up. And once up it was really wonky. I needed to use it to test a WLAN so I used it for a while and it was slow. I shut it down and thought I'd try it again later. I have encountered later yet, but soon . . . I just may put Sierra on it since it's running so well on my MacPro 3,1 and run with it. But I do have a partition on the 3,1 that I started to install 10.14 on, stopped and focused on the laptop. I may try to take the MacPro to 10.14.4 Official and see what happens. But if the laptop stays wonky, it's going to Sierra.

EDIT: clean install to 10.14.4 on MacBookPro5,2 works but is not stable. Looks like legacy video patch is not working. Computer randomly kernel panics/reboots. I have tried rebuilding cache.

Updated my 5,1 Mini to 10.14.4 earlier today, did a clean install and everything is working well and smoothly, other than that Siri bug. I never use the News.app so I don't know how that's going but I assume it is the same for me.

Now my own MacBook Pro Late 2011 won’t boot after I rebooted it. I’m not sure if it’s a bad SSD or what.

It wasn't yesterday when I got my copy . . . . I did check the Version Notes and saw that 1.30 was added and what was done.
EDIT: I am a dummy... page just needed to be refreshed.

I saw notes too but the link remains to patcher 1.2.3. In any case, I am going back to 10.14.3... 10.14.4 patching needs work.

I faced the same problem(using your same machine), but I did this:

(dosdude1) suggested it on page 498 and you can download the patch on page 497.

The Patch
Alright, got everything figured out! To get acceleration working under 10.14.4 with a non-Metal GPU, just download this archive, extract it, cd into the extracted directory using Terminal, and then run ./install.sh. Please ensure you have the Legacy Video Card Patch installed properly (you can re-apply it with the post-install patch, or re-install it using Patch Updater after running the script just to be sure). After rebooting, you should now have full graphics acceleration!

View attachment 824764

The Instructions
No, it must be installed after 10.14.4 is installed. What you can do is boot Single User mode (hold Command + S at startup), then at the prompt, run the following:

Code:
/sbin/mount -uw /
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHD3000*.*
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelHDGraphics*.*
rm -R /System/Library/Extensions/GeForceTesla*.*
exit

That should get 10.14.4 to boot. Then, apply the patch I posted above, and afterwards, re-apply the Legacy Video Card Patch by booting off your USB installer and running the post-install tool (or you can use Patch Updater to re-install it). Reboot again, and it should boot with full video acceleration.

I hope it helps you.

As not to give the wrong impression. The two links there now go to the proper file that was posted yesterday.

You just need to refresh the webpage, the pre-updated version is probably cached in your browser.

finally got 10.4.4 installed using the Mojave Patcher link on page 1 of the thread it was a bit nerve wrecking at first as my iMac 9,1 rebooted several times as I was quite quick enough to install the backlight patch but got all the updated patches installed and all is good Thank you dosdude1-2 :) and Spira's hybrid 18C54 patches still work as well

Does this patch also work on a Mid 2009 Macbook (5,2), which has an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB GPU? I know that the image accompanying @dosdude1's original post announcing this patch (post 12406, on page 497) shows "About This Mac" from a Late 2009 Macbook (6,1) which has an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, but is there anything about the 5,2 Macbook that prevents this from working? I've updated to 10.14.4 using Mojave Patcher 1.3.0, but (while in Light Mode) when I turn on transparency (System Preferences > Accessibility > Display > [deselect] Reduce transparency), which I thought was one way to test if your GPU is running in accelerated mode, I still get a dark gray menu bar, gray non-transparent pulldown menus, etc. Am I wrong to assume this patch is bundled into Mojave Patcher 1.3.0?

Edit:
I found that I get transparent pulldown menus when I turn on Dark Mode in the General prefpane, but as I say above, not when in Light Mode, even with the Accessibility prefpane's "Reduce transparency" option turned off. Is this normal, or does this mean that graphics acceleration is active on my Macbook only when it's running in Dark Mode? I don't actually want transparent menus, which is one reason I don't normally use Dark Mode, but I'd like graphics acceleration to be working in Light Mode too.

That would seem a likely explanation except I visited your site with a computer that I had never used before (I guess the old saying about "assumption being the mother of all F-ups applies). I am sure it was something simple like that.

Still, I cannot get a stable macOS 10.14.4 install on MacBookPro5,2. Computer boots but seems to kernel panic after about 5 mins. I have since reverted to macOS 10.14.3 and it works flawlessly.

can you get in your desktop my iMac is a 2009 model and it rebooted after logging in it took me several times to finally get the install the backlight patch once that was installed it booted normally and then I installed the Siri patch no issues now. try again if you see the backlight patch update try getting it installed

Thanks for the suggestion. I was able to boot to desktop and install patches on MBP5,2. I don't remember seeing a backlight patch but I installed everything that the patch updater offered (including the Siri patch). Also, while camera works in 10.14.3 it did not work in 10.14.4.

The only usb kexts missing is usbinjectall that you asked me to remove. You can go into my patch files and look at all of them with -MB4 appended. Those are the MB4 specific kexts. The prelinkedkernel is always rebuilt and the telemetry is always removed. The only thing I can do is fix something that you tell me to fix. This isn’t clear enough and I can’t do any testing so I can’t anything at the moment.

This is a stupid question but it’s not clear to me. Did you run the patch command after installation?

dosdude1's Patch Updater launched itself about 20 minutes ago, and displayed the latest patches for Siri and iSight, so I installed them (Mid 2009 Macbook 5,2). Siri now works fine (thank you!), but my iSight camera still doesn't work (Photo Booth doesn't see it), but from what I understand, it may not be possible to get the iSight camera on this model to work with a patched, unsupported version of MacOS, at least versions after 10.12(?).
