I've installed on my patched MBA an "MacBook Pro Supplemental Update for T2 chips", something like that, and now the machine is utterly slow. :(
There's something I can do before reinstall the whole system again?

if you have the current macOS Mojave patcher you can try and reinstall 10.14.5 without losing your data and see if that works and then go to utilities folder open your terminal and use this
softwareupdate --ignore "MacBook Pro Supplemental Update" command c then in terminal hit command v

Guys stop being perverts! The latest fastest most stable operating system you wanna stop at is ELCapitan. It's still usable in 2019 and a couple years ahead. Your old hardware isn't meant for the newest not lightweight but heavy buggy systems. I'm telling you I'd love to install Mac OS X lion on my pimped MacBook pro early 2011 but the thing is the software that I need like Fcpx 10.3.4 where I can do easy video editing with increased vram from 512 to 1024mb and it's enough for me for now... Browsing and stuff works well. The latest browsers are supported. What do I need more? The system stable responsive af. That apple policy kills me but I'm strong enough to not play its game. I ain't guys killing the thread. I'm giving my recommendation to those who doubt and is a newbie /beginner or don't have time to mess with all the crap who wanna enjoy the productivity and stability. Please guys don't throw stones at me who is addicted and stuff). I appreciate all the work done...

You know I would respect an opinion like this, but your ridiculously bad choice of wording and demeaning tone puts every tiny bit of respect anybody may have for you right in the garbage.

There are plenty of other aims than yours that lead people to continued OS upgrading. I'm one of these.

I'm sorry for hurting you. Didn't mean anything bad. No offense please. You're cool!

I am a beginner but I don't just listen to recommendations from anybody who gives it. It takes a lot of hard work to get people to listen to your recommendations. You seem to entirely miss that point.

Hi,
I have an early 2008 mac pro 3,1 with an asus nvidia gtx680 (metal compatible and flashed 4 mac). Mojave 10.14.4. I'm experiencing the following issue: the mac pro doesn't wake after suspend, i only get black screen; That force me to shutdown the machine by pressing and holding power button. This is not the end of story, now i'm not be able to power on the mac. the power switch button become inactif for a while. I should unplug the power cord; wait for a moment,i think more than 5 minutes, then plug it (it's like resetting smc but the machine need more time). Now i can boot and i find the mojave desktop in the state as it was resuming from the early suspend.
Question: is this related to mojave in unsupported mac, or a hardware issue ? As far as i know this is not the case with El capitan but i should test again. Thanks in advance.
p.s : following "pmset -g" i'm in 0 hibernatemode.

I've never seen that on my MacPro 3,1 using patched 10.14.5 with EVGA GTX-680 flashed to the official EVGA Mac ROMs. While I don't explicitly sleep the machine, the energy savings sleeps it after an hour and it always wakes without issue.

It really depends on how heavily patched the system needs to be. For Mojave, a MacPro 3,1 with a supported WiFi card and a metal compatible EVGA GTX-680 is rock solid.

On an APFS file system. It is possible to create a manual snapshot using a single Terminal command:

tmutil snapshot

to list the snapshots ->
tmutil listlocalsnapsots /

typing in tmutil gives broad list of options.

To restore and More info see:
https://www.lifewire.com/roll-back-apfs-snapshots-4154969

Might be useful when patching systems, take a snapshot before and after a change is made and have an option to restore it.

My 2008 Mac Pro runs newer OS’ just as well as El Cap. I’ve also developed five iOS apps On it. It has three screens including 4k. It has 2TB SSD. 8TB HD 48GB RAM. metal, brand new 680 card. 4k res can interpolate to a 5k res. Kinda like a stretcher res. Looks great. More work space.

It’s fast as Dirt. And everyone Dirt how fast dirt is.

I have bought a dozen Macs and three PCs. And it’s to a time where I can’t keep replacing boxes. I even sold supported hardware because my unsupported Macs ran circles around them.

There are even computer shops online and all they do is rebuild 2012 Mac Pros for video editing and anyone else who wants to buy a fully loaded box without having to config it themselves.

So the huge fan of the Dos Dude 1.
I am having some issues updating to Mojave to OX.14.5

Basically, I am currently running 14.3 on a Mid-2009 MBP I am using an SSD and installed a clean copy of Mojave in the winter with the new AFPS formatting.

Anyway, I try to do the 14.5 updates and it gets stuck in a boot loop. I have been able to use an older version of the patch tool on the USB drive to at least get Time Machine backup to the last instance before I tried updating.

I have tried to create a new USB drive using the latest 1.3.3 patcher tool and is not showing up in Boot Management.

It is possible I am missing something in my procedures or do I need to try using an earlier version of the patch tool say 1.3.0?

Wondering if anybody has had this glitch and if they fixed it.

First off, I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this thread and especially dosdude for breathing new life into my MP3,1 GTX680 production box. I'm currently running Mojave 10.14.5 booting from a SSD PCIe card. All of the latest Mojave patchers and APFS Rom patch have been installed. The machine is working amazingly well.
I have a couple questions however.

After every startup, I get prompted to install Netkas' "AMD Metal Driver SSE4.1 Patch". This is the only patch I have not installed and hesitant to do so without a clarification first. Even though I don't have an AMD GPU, should I install the patch? Will it affect my GTX680 or any performance of my machine? It's running so good now.

The other thing I want to mention is 2 or 3 times now after waking from sleep, I get a full pixel snow on one monitor while the second display is fine. Anyone else having this issue? Any solutions?

I appreciate any info on these questions. Thanks

The "AMD Metal Driver SSE4.1 Patch", if applied, will only patch AMD drivers so it will have no impact on your GTX-680.

I don't tolerate an attitude like this and I don't think I'm the only one. If you don't like what we're doing, then don't come to this thread.

@pkouame apologies if this has already been covered, I have tried searching! But what's the situation of applying your hybrid patches to gain a transparent menu bar in light mode?

I agree, this thread is for the full support of keeping our systems up-to-date regardless of what Apple's policies are. If one disagrees, they should not be here. The work being done here is fantastic.

A new version of macOS Patcher will soon be released with Catalina support (come join us on that adventure here). This version will still provide support for macOS Mojave but contains some changes to bundled utilities system that I'd like to detail here as I have done on the Catalina thread.

Note for macOS Patcher 3 and future versions: Starting with macOS Patcher 3, transutil will no longer be included with macOS Patcher. It will be available separately and will support all patchers for Mojave and Catalina. Another utility by the name of apfsutil be made available shortly for switching between APFS volumes for users of the APFS system patch. This utility will support macOS Patcher and support status for other patchers will be announced later. And finally, I will soon start to develop a new utility specifically for macOS Patcher, called, macOS Patcher Subsystem. This utility will also be available separately but for macOS Patcher only. macOS Patcher Subsystem (MPS), will have the ability to detect system updates, system patches that have been overwritten, and will offer updates to patches and to MPS itself. It will also allow the reinstallation of patches (including macOS Patcher Subsystem itself), without the need of the macOS installer drive.

These utilities will not be preinstalled as the aim of macOS Patcher is to give more freedom to the user by expanding their choice of operating systems. And including utilities that a user may not need or want is contradicting that. These utilities will all be open source as is macOS Patcher and will have their own GitHub page and download zips. Install scripts will be available for these utilities and they will be installed with the intent to be easily removable by the user. This can be done either manually or via an uninstall script that will also be there for download.

macOS Patcher 3 will not remove the current utilities by default, instead this will be done via an optional upgrade script that will be released along with macOS Patcher 3. I will also be releasing restore scripts individually for all past versions of macOS Patcher since macOS Patcher 1.0 to allow users to remove patcher files for their specific version of macOS Patcher. These restore scripts will also include the latest improvements in the visual design and code structure of my scripts. Users of the Users of macOS Patcher 1 are encouraged to download the restore script for their version of macOS Patcher, when it is released, and follow the instructions on the RMC website for restoring before they use a newer version of macOS Patcher.

I hope these changes will be beneficial to everyone and I'm excited to provide support for Catalina shortly and make my patcher and its utilities more open and to give more choice to the user about the software they install on their machine.

I'm wondering if someone here can help me. I followed the advice in here to upgrade from 10.14.4 to 10.14.5 (making a new installer usb with patcher so it doesn't just keep rebooting). It did the update on my mid 2010 MBP (7.1) but now there are some video artifacts and sound is disabled. I've run the post install software twice and it still persists. Not sure how to fix this now and I didn't have any of these issues on 10.14.4

More success.
iMac11,2 .6Devb2 via OTA, post-install Patcher 1.3.3., post-post install three more patches via Updater, reboot, ran Maintenance 2.5.4, now this Beta runs like .5 except 32-bit apps definitely start slower, the old missing animations in PhotoBooth persists, News seems solid, did not try +. All this on a APFS HDD. Boots drama-free, runs solid, no KPs or weirdness of any kind. The iOS apps run dependably, so far. And Safari, no quirks, yet. The display looks gorgeous w/transparency in full resolution, a little over 1/3rd bright. All KB functions intact.

Truly amazing work by dosdude1 and the global cohorts.

I have the same hardware as you and I have no problem in 10.14.5, it is even more stable and very approximate of 10.14.3. The only thing you need to do is to apply post-install without selecting any USB patch, iSight and it will be fine.

I found with my Mac book pro 8,1 to get sound working I had to put a check mark in the box to rebuild the cache on reboot. I believe that was the option...(you will the check box before you reboot)

I've tried to install Mojave 10.14.5 with dosdude1 patcher 1.3.3 on my Mac Pro 3.1. Everything work great with my GTX 680. When I applied "AMD Metal Driver SSE4.1" patch and install Vega 56 on my Mac Pro 3.1. Now, I'm stuck at login screen and cannot login to my desktop. Did anyone got the same issue?
