I do not know the exact name of the macOS Mojave 10.14.6 Supplemental Update, in order to paste it.
@dosdude1 It seems the Mojave install app from the app store has not been updated with the supplemental update. Or not?

If you have a supported Mac, the App Store will pull down 14.6.03 rather than the original 14.6.02.

Just like its shown in Preferences/Software Update (if you're already on 10.14.6) ...

If I remember correctly, it was called 'macOS Mojave 10.14.6 Supplemental Update'

Also have a look at this: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207251

Ever since installing 10.14.6 on my macbook pro 5,5 it gets really hot and the fans run constantly. Is there anywhere i can download the full 10.14.5 installer and go back?

In case somebody finds it interesting. I am using my MacBook5,1 to download Install macOS Mojave App from the AppStore. Is it an old news that you don't need a supported Mac to do it, that I somehow missed?

I inadvertently erased (due to diskutility errors) my internal SSD containing an APFS volume with Mojave 10.14.6 on it. So I tried to reinstall Mojave on it using @dosdude1's Mojave Patcher 1.3.3. First, I tried to do a time machine restore, but it says the MBP5,3 does not support the existing backup. My guess is that this is due to APFS ROM patch not being applied. So I did I fresh install and after maybe an hour or so, says that it cannot be installed on it.

Can you please tell me some options to try and install or reinstall Mojave again? Thanks a lot.

My MacBook5,1 can download Mojave and High Sierra from the App Store but unable to download El Capitan. Isn't it ironic?

APFS ROM patch is not going to help you with a Time Machine full system restore as it does not provide you with a "native native" APFS support.
You should be able to go back in the beginning and install Mojave from scratch like you did the first time.

Mac Pro 3.1 here. Already had installed the 10.14.6 update before, this supplemental update was done via OTA. No post installation patches were necessary in my case, the Mac started flawlessly, but this time interestingly without the startup sound.

Exactly the same story here on my Mac Pro 3,1. Supplemental update via OTA, ten minutes work and no post install necessary. I didn't hear the starting sound either but I will reboot just to test that.........
[doublepost=1564825510][/doublepost]Startup sound is back on first reboot after the successful update.

Hello everyone !

Just reporting that OTA update from 10.14.5 to 10.14.6 (18G87) with Mojave Patcher version 1.3.3 executed without troubles.
- System Preferences/Software Update: to download and start installation
- Holding Option key at restart after software update to boot from USB stick
- Apply the patches for my machine, iMac 10,1
IMG_6068.jpg

After reboot and first login with an administrator account I was prompted to update some patches. I accepted the update and restart.
So far all seems alright, iSight is working with photoBooth and Skype.

Once again thanks to all contributors of patches and Colin for his tool. Also thanks to all brave early adopters of the latest version that gave me confidence in a smooth update.

Sounds like you're using a 2018+ Mac, with the awful, terribly-implemented T2 chip. If so, what you'll have to do is boot the system into Recovery Mode, and use the Startup Security utility to enable external device booting, and disable the useless "security" features. Once done, boot back into your main OS, and then the tool should be able to make a drive successfully.
Correct. Thank you.

MacBook Pro mid-2010 13” (with 16gb RAM and 500gb SSD mods) running 10.14.5 with patcher 1.3.3 installed - failed to update to 10.14.6 using both approaches:

1) created a new patcher usb stick (presuming it would write 10.14.6 there), booted from it, performed in-place upgrade (installed OS on top of existing volume), booted from stick again and patched, attempted to boot normally - and it never booted, progress bar runs fast approx til the middle, then slows down, sloooowly reaches the end but never disappears nor screen changes
2) tried OTA, which went ok, booted from patcher stick, applied patches, attempted to boot normally - to the same result as above

any ideas what goes wrong, or how to diagnose it?

cheers.

Hello,

Thank you very much for this information.

I have a MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010) with Mac OSX High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G5019) and I want to update to Mojave.

The USB disk is ready and it was created with the macOS Mojave Patcher but, when I reboot the MacBook Pro with the Option Key and select the USB disk I get a forbidden sign.

Can you please help me?

Thanks and best regards,

Adelmo

Hello,

Anyone? Can someone help?

Thanks.

Typing this from my MBP4,1 / 10.14.5 / Atheros Wi-Fi. When I upgrade to 10.14.6, I lose Wi-Fi even though I've applied the DosDude's "Legacy Platform Compatibility" patch and "Legacy Atheros WiFi" patch. Wi-Fi works fine in 10.14.5 (using now) but doesn't when I upgrade.

Time to purchase Broadcom Wi-Fi as I've read in numerous other posts, or should my Atheros Wi-Fi still work in 10.14.6 if it was working in 10.14.5?

It has been updated.
To check this go to:
"About this Mac", "System Report", "Software", "System Version".
It should be 18G87 (10.14.6.3), the anterior version was 18G84 (i think it was 10.14.6.2)
Another way to check the version, write in terminal: sw_vers
If you've already have a USB stick done go to:
"Install mojaveOS", "Show Packet Contents", "Contents", open "version.plist"
with TextEdit and here you'll see it, it should be:<string>14.6.03</string>

He just wants to remove the 10.14.6 Supplemental Update from appearing in the Software Updates.

Oh yes, now I see.
This will only possible by reinstalling the 10.4.6.2 version imho.
Now the problem will be to get the previous version.

Got a problem:
MBP 5,3 (SSD) won't shut down since 10.14.6. and the 10.14.6.3 update didn't changed this situation.
Any ideas?
Problem solved!
Just do cache deleting dance via terminal:
  1. rm -rf ~/Library/Caches/*
  2. rm -rf ~/Library/Saved\ Application\ State/*
  3. sudo rm -rf /Library/Caches/*
  4. sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Caches/*
  5. atsutil databases -removeUser
  6. sudo atsutil databases -remove
  7. sudo atsutil server -shutdown
  8. sudo atsutil server -ping
  9. sudo rm -rf /var/folders/*
After performing the last Terminal command, Restart.
