You can download any version of macOS from the App Store. Apple provides the links on its support pages.

I am not sure what I am doing wrong but it says El Capitan is not available. I might need to install Mavericks or Yosemite first in order to get El Capitan(I tried to do it from the Snow Leopard but it says that for security reasons you can't access or update your billing info from the old Mac OS X). Keep in mind that El Capitan is Mac OS X, but even Sierra while being macOS is still hard to get.

@dosdude1

I was thinking about suggesting an update for the Mojave patcher, for users with an iMac 2010-2011 with upgraded Metal GPU.
Maybe it's an good idea, like catalina patcher has now I think, to disable legacy video patcher by default.. ?
So to apply this also for Mojave patcher in a future release.. ?

This would greatly help all of us iMac users out there I think...

I think it is as easy as un-ticking the box next to the Legacy Video Card patch. Done.
Besides there is no way a patcher can know that you upgraded your video card.

That is an option, but like with the new catalina patcher its disabled by default now.
Also most of these imac users would upgrade their gpu anyway, since running mojave on those amd cards is running crap anyway..
Ive seen several user posts in the imac 2011 video csrd upgrade thread who forgot to deselect this legacy video card patch.
There is also no way to undo this patch other than completly reinstalling macos, so have it off by default like in catalina is great if you ask me..

I see what you mean. I mostly have MacBooks(with integrated cards) in mind and for a second there I stupidly imagined that iMacs can have an integrated cards too.

My MacBook5,1 can download Mojave and High Sierra from the App Store but unable to download El Capitan. Isn't it ironic?
[doublepost=1564807817][/doublepost]

APFS ROM patch is not going to help you with a Time Machine full system restore as it does not provide you with a "native native" APFS support.
You should be able to go back in the beginning and install Mojave from scratch like you did the first time.

Well, I did try to install from scratch, and I couldn't with the message "macOS could not be installed on your computer. No packages were eligible for install. Contact the software manufacturer ...".

Weird, I've had Mojave installed on this unsupported device before.
[doublepost=1564859378][/doublepost]
I inadvertently erased (due to diskutility errors) my internal SSD containing an APFS volume with Mojave 10.14.6 on it. So I tried to reinstall Mojave on it using @dosdude1's Mojave Patcher 1.3.3. First, I tried to do a time machine restore, but it says the MBP5,3 does not support the existing backup. My guess is that this is due to APFS ROM patch not being applied. So I did I fresh install and after maybe an hour or so, says that it cannot be installed on it.

Can you please tell me some options to try and install or reinstall Mojave again? Thanks a lot.

No dice for fresh install using @dosdude1's Mojave Patcher 1.3.3.

Did you check that system date is correct?

Oh yes, now I see.
This will only possible by reinstalling the 10.4.6.2 version imho.
Now the problem will be to get the previous version.
On this Hackintosh, supplemental updates on the dosdude1 Mojave cause a nasty issue. They manage to get installed, but after that the OS runs about ten times slower then before, it is unsuable. If the the Mojave install has been updated from the App Store, I can download it and re-create the installation pen drive, then reinstall it, to get the final Mojave. But on App Store it says the app has not been updated. If the app shall not be updates, I need a precise Terminal command to make the OS forget the update. I would prefer the first option, if available, but it seems it is not. I have already lost a lot of time today reinstalling Mojave.

"Can You Uninstall Apple Software Updates?

Apple provides an option to automatically download updates to your software in the background and install them. Unfortunately, Apple does not provide an option to revert to previous versions after this has occurred. Once an update has been installed, prior versions of the software are generally unavailable.

Restore Applications From Backup

The best way to revert to a prior version of an updated application is to restore it from a previous backup of your hard drive, such as the one created by Time Machine. This can also be used to reverse updates to your Mac OS X, but only if you restore your entire hard drive. You must copy any new files off of the drive before you restore it however, otherwise they will disappear.

Prevent Future Automatic Updates

Turn off the automatic update feature for better control over future updates to your Mac. In Mac OS X, open System Preferences from the Dock or the Apple menu, then click on the "App Store" preference pane. Uncheck the boxes next to "Download newly available updates in the background" and "Install app updates." You can also turn off "Install system data files and security updates" to keep your copy of Mojave just the way it is."

That's all I can tell you.
If you don't have a backup, you are screwed.
Is there life beyond a backup? Maybe, but in another form.
Pralaya is comin'.

Are you sure you just didn't give it enough time after installing to "settle down". Every machine I've installed the patcher on takes a good 10 minutes on a fast machine (30-40 minutes sometimes on really old slow machines, even longer if the hard drive is iffy) to re-index everything and basically become usable again. Several reboots (which take forever, especially on non-SSD drives) can be required as well. Just a thought...

iMac 8,1
Re-downloaded 10.14.6 (18G87 from the App Store 6.05GB)
Used the latest Mojave Patcher to create an updated USB thumb drive...
Working perfectly!

Hi everybody,
10.14.6 supplemental update (18G87) performed successfully on MBP5,3 with "macOSUpd10.14.6Supplemental.pkg" without any patching.

Capture d’écran 2019-08-03 à 14.33.30.png

After updating iMac8,1 with "macOSUpd10.14.6Supplemental.pkg" the system was very slow even after patched patches.
I had to recreate a USB key with a complete Patch Installer 10.14.6 with an additional built-in update and re-install the complete system.
After the first boot the system was OK but after re-applying patches with "Patch Updater.app" the system became very slow, more than 15 minutes to display the desktop ...

It was more than an hour in total, with lots of error messages on the last part of the boot process, just before Waiting for DSMOS and finishing with DSMOS has arrives. The GUI loaded in about 10 minutes instead of 10 seconds the least and that happened every time I restarted the machine. On major updates, things are fine, only smaller, supplemental updates bring this issue. It is not the first time.
One possible cause, if FakeSMC is to blame (It seems to be a DSMOS issue.), the system definitions for the Hackintosh set by the Clover Bootloader (that disguise the Hackintosh into a supported Mac model) may get in conflict with some dosdude1 patches, that seem to have a different strategy of putting the unsupported Mac model into the list of supported ones. Since this is a Hackintosh, that type of patch would be redundant the least, perhaps even harmful on a Hackintosh. I do not know.

So, you downloaded the Mojave app from the App Store with the supplemtal update already in?

Yes, if you re-download Mojave from the App Store, you will have all the updates, all in one, including the supplemental update.

Did you check your purchases from the App Store? Checking from Sierra, I can download El Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion and Lion. You can download Sierra through the Patcher Tool for Sierra on Unsupported Macs just don't patch the installer if you're using it on a Sierra supported Mac.

You probably don't see it right now but this is actually an indication of something positive. Apple recently seems to "give back to the old fans" as some things started to work OOB on unsupported Macs. Quite a few people mentioned that they did not have to re-patch anything after the 10.14.6 Supplemental Update. So keep in mind that the patches can start working against you as updates roll in. It would be wise after the update to check first if something started working OOB before applying patches.
The primary benefit of the Mojave patcher(for my MacBook5,1 at least) is only seen when doing a clean install. All I really need from the Mojave installer is to bypass the checks and allow an installation on APFS on a machine that does not support APFS natively.

We are mostly talking first time downloads here. Actually when I downloaded Mojave and High Sierra from the App Store they did not appear in "Purchased" afterwards, so something is changing.

What gpu are you MP3,1 users using?

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 2 GB (Connected to a 43" Series 5 TCL 4k TV - 3840x2160) - can't see display until booted
NVIDIA GeForce GT 640 1 GB (Connected to a 24" 1920x1200 monitor) - can see Apple logo on boot
