Typing this from my MBP4,1 / 10.14.5 / Atheros Wi-Fi. When I upgrade to 10.14.6, I lose Wi-Fi even though I've applied the DosDude's "Legacy Platform Compatibility" patch and "Legacy Atheros WiFi" patch. Wi-Fi works fine in 10.14.5 (using now) but doesn't when I upgrade.

Time to purchase Broadcom Wi-Fi as I've read in numerous other posts, or should my Atheros Wi-Fi still work in 10.14.6 if it was working in 10.14.5?

I suspect this was a dumb question that's been answered a million times. Sorry about that. Does anyone have an Atheros Wi-Fi card that was working in 10.14.5 and no longer works in 10.14.6? If so, did you buy a new card or is there a fix?

You probably don't see it right now but this is actually an indication of something positive. Apple recently seems to "give back to the old fans" as some things started to work OOB on unsupported Macs. Quite a few people mentioned that they did not have to re-patch anything after the 10.14.6 Supplemental Update. So keep in mind that the patches can start working against you as updates roll in. It would be wise after the update to check first if something started working OOB before applying patches.
The primary benefit of the Mojave patcher(for my MacBook5,1 at least) is only seen when doing a clean install. All I really need from the Mojave installer is to bypass the checks and allow an installation on APFS on a machine that does not support APFS natively.

We are mostly talking first time downloads here. Actually when I downloaded Mojave and High Sierra from the App Store they did not appear in "Purchased" afterwards, so something is changing.

Correct. Apple has changed their policy concerning downloading older OS's. I found this out when I purchased my 18,3 iMac that came with High Sierra, instead of Mojave. The support person said they stopped or at least made it difficult to upload older OS's as an encouragement to stay with the latest versions today. She said I could download Sierra, HS and Mojave, but my previous downloads may not be available.

When Apple introduced Sierra they stopped the OS appearing in the Purchased section of the App Store, you could still download earlier OS's if you had downloaded them previously. With Mojave no previously downloaded OS's appear in your Account> Purchased section.

If the App Store detects that your Mac can upgrade higher than El Capitan you are refused the download of El Capitan.

This is correct.

Re-installing the Legacy Atheros WiFi Patch using Patch Updater should resolve that issue.

Not a complete answer but I upgraded my WiFi to a brand new Apple Broadcom BCM94322MC WiFe PCIe card for $9.50 off eBay last November before the "Legacy WiFi card" patch was released... and it's worked flawlessly. Not sure it's worth $9.50 of your time to try to continue to use an even older "legacy" PCIe WiFi card...

I am working on reverting my MacBook Air 4,1 to HighSierra to and testing performance. It seems that the memory load often grinds it to a halt - memory pressure in Activity Monitor. Safari really gives it a hit.

Hi All, I need some assistance to an issue - that might be simple - but I cannot find the solution.
I have a MacBookPro8,2 running 10.14.6 with latest patches.

Whenever I put the computer to sleep, either by closing the lid og by selecting sleep - I cannot wake it again.
I do get the backlights in the keys, but the screen stays black.

This seems to have started with Legacy Graphics driver version 7. IIRC it was good with version 6.

Is there a solution to this?

Answering my own question.

Copying the AMDRadeon kextx from /.AMD[something] into /System/Library/Extensions - APART from the 3000 kext. Loading the 3000 kext _after_ login - and you have brightness control, sleep and hibernation working again.

Hi, today I've got a Night Shift update on my MP3,1
After restarting, another message says to re-apply the nightshift patch again... and again,... and again...
What I should do?

Same here upipes. Tell patcher to ignore the update to stop it coming back for now. I am sure there is a glitch with the patcher that dosdude1 will get on top of soon.

I haven't tried installing an update over a previous version, I just downloaded the new InstallESD.dmg (from a URL I found in the software catalog) and redid the process outlined in my manual patch tutorial completely from scratch.
[doublepost=1531355146][/doublepost]I fixed iSight camera on MacBook7,1.

As well as replacing IOUSBHostFamily.kext, you need to also replace IOUSBFamily.kext.

There may be other fallout from this, nothing that I've seen yet but backup the old file & be careful!

Hello I have Macbook Pro 17" 2011 8,3 running mojave patcher everything works the AMD gpu has been disabled and I have done the sleep wake modification on the board.

I see where I need to add and remove .Kext file to make the isight work ? Green light pops up and still dark , if I boot into high sierra the isight will work then.

IOUSBHostFamily.kext
--IOUSBFamily.kext.
are these the kext I need to pull from high sierra and delete and replace in mojave ?
I really have no idea how to do this I see programs like easykext pro I think I would use this .

Can someone simplify how to to swap these kexts please and exactly what kext are needed .
Thank you.

I have the same problem on an iMac 11,1 (27 inch, Late 2009), 2.8GHz Intel Core i7, 12 GB, ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB and tried 2 reboots, reinstalling all patches and rebooting, Onyx Maintenance and 2 further reboots to no avail.

So for now I have set Don't Remind me Again option in the System Patches Overwritten warning notification.

Thanks!

Installed 10.14.6 supplemental update last night on my MBP 4,1, since then hibernatemode 25 isn't working. When I put it to sleep, it looks like it goes into the regular "mode 3" sleep. I can't use normal sleep because my secondary drive ejects and disconnects after waking from sleep, but doesn't when I use hibernate. Any thoughts?

Hi all, I have just installed the 10.14.6 update on my MacPro 3.1
After the reboot, I have wrong click the Legacy Video Cards flag during the patch process and now the MacPro 3.1 boot without Metal (I have an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2 GB).
How can I restore the correct video drivers?

Thanks

You'll need to reinstall from the patched usb full installer in order to get back the Mojave version of those frameworks. Note that if you redownload the Mojave full installer which has the 14.6.03 version, you won't need to install the supplemental update as it is embedded in that version.

Use your USB Patcher installer to install Mojave again, it doesn't matter if it is a lower version than 10.14.6,
once it is installed boot back to the USB and select the patches remembering not to select the Legacy Video Patch. Then boot back to the Mac and download 10.14.6 Update, boot back to USB select the patches again and boot back to your Mac.

Or you could just download the full Mojave 10.14.6 installer make a new USB installer so you only have to do the procedure once, if you see what I mean.

My laser printer is quite old as well(they don't make them anymore):

10.14.5 or 10.14.6 should not make any difference in my opinion. It was definitely safe to update my MacBook5,1 to 10.14.6. I don't even have a Mojave patcher anymore.

Thank you so much for your concern, I updated, patched and everything went fine, but still when I connect my printer it won't prompt downloading drivers window.

Have a look at this article, https://computers.tutsplus.com/tutorials/how-to-hibernate-a-mac--cms-23235
which discusses changing the hibernate settings.
