most likely Apple took into account some sleep for 8 hours so that leaves 16 hours so the dynamic changes every to hours as mine has changed

It's the same reasoning I did when generated the catalinadynamic.heic (I created the latest json pic change after 2 a.m. and then restart from the first about after 8:00 a.m. with changes every 2-3 hours), but in some way also with the Mojave.heic (16 pictures) apple probably already reserved 8 hours (16+8=24h) for sleeping.

For me I like both light and dark mode and watching the changes during the day maybe it is possible to create a script running in the automator using the 4 dark macOS Catalina Desktop pictures while in dark mode

I don't think are from the link I found on Github but maybe

Of course they're not from the link you found on Github, I was just joking, because the current Catalina.heic is 187 MB, that means 23 MB per picture, so they should be to fit a 4-5k or even 8k display resolution with the highest pixel range.

I only meant that they chosen exactly 8 pictures for the HEIC, and some are slightly similar to the github ones. But no comparison, the apple ones are much better.

Try a different USB stick. I had one that generated various errors and even failed to install on a supported iMac13,1.
I have tried to boot from Clover on the CD, failed. Even tried to install from the pen drive, booting from the CD, not the pen drive itself, it got the same error. What does mean Still waiting for root device? What is that root deivice in the error? Not the pen drive, since it happens after the installation was suppose to be finished. Perhasp the apfs driver in Catalina does not fit in my drive? Or perhaps Catalina requires a SSD and old HDDs (more then 10 years old) are not supported to the new partition scheme with two main partitions? Anyway< i have accidentaly erased the Catalina install app when I formated the drive, now I need to reinstall Mojave again to get it, to try another pen drive. A lot, lot of work, not much time on my hands. The pen drive I use for Catalina, anyway, worked fine for installing Mojave, I do not think it is faulty, my guess it that the HDD itself has more to do with it. But it worth a try. It would like to avoid any major hardware upgrade for now, for financial reasons. The Catalina kernel itself works on this CPU, so there has to ba a solution.

I would, but unfortunately there's no way for me to check whether or not the ROM patch is applied, and a popup would add confusion for "normal" users.

Maybe just a resume window that list all the selected options before press the start button?
It's only a resume screenshot that permit to check one last time.

Thanks

catalina beta 8 total of gorgeous 9 Catalina dynamic wallpapers.

Only Catalina.heic is dynamic, the other seven even if with .heic extension are static.

Also as @avz noticed, apple has created two duplicates of Catalina.heic naming "Catalina Day.heic" and "Catalina Night.heic", but they contain exactly the same 8 pictures with same file size 187 MB.

Recap, there are:

7 new static Catalina wallpapers (with an heic extension)
One dynamic Catalina heic wallpaper (that contains 8 "different" pictures)

Total: 15 Catalina wallpapers

edit:
Just copy/paste this from a Catalina Terminal, and you'll notice what I meant:
open /System/Library/Desktop\ Pictures/Catalina.heic

You can right click on thumbnails and "Export As" jpg.

Anybody else is having an issue with the trackpad not being recognised in System Preferences? It is actually working but I am unable to change the settings. Any possible solutions/kexts?
Dynamic Catalina Wallpaper seems to be working for me even in Dark Mode.

I am trying to install Catalina on a 2011 Mac Mini. Unfortunatelly the USB installer creation fails every time with an "error occured while restoring BaseSystem.dmg"

The log says:

I am trying to create the installer on a different Mac which is a supported system already running Catalina Beta 8.

Any help appreciated! I searched this topic for any workaround on this. It seems like I am not the only one with this problem, but no solution so far.

Thank you!

UPDATE
This must be a new Catalina issue. I fired up a Mojave virtual machine and it allowed me to create an installer with no problems.
