Maybe you used that disk in your hackintosh before...
I doubt that, it was installed way before.

Either way: I apparently uninstalled it already, following the instructions found on another post in this forum.
I just typed in this command: diskutil mount /dev/disk0s1 to mount the EFI, and just deleted the entire EFI folder, then rebooted it.

But now... I have a different problem. I‘ll attach pictures.

This happens as soon as I start the boot. The first one has been happening for a while, but the very glitchy ones happen when I boot to the SD card with the Catalina Installer. Damnit! I tried resolving it with a PRAM and SMC reset, but it‘s not doing the trick. Any idea?

Hi,
you don't lose thunderbolt functionality except you won't be able to connect external display I believe.
Ah, so this is the reason why I can't connect to my TV anymore ? Really I didn't realize the relation between the eGPU and thunderbolt port. Any suggestion to have the connection up again ? Anyway, thanks to raise this point up!

Aha!
I did another couple of PRAM resets (who knows, maybe it helped), booted onto recovery HD and repaired the permissions for my SSD. Reboot into bootloader, and onto CatInstaller with success. Formatted the partition to APFS and trying the installation again now. Hoping for the best.

EDIT: Great! Got the High Sierra installer working, installed on a partition, created a new Catalina Patcher USB right from that system, and installed Catalina after a new format on that partition. Working great now after system setup!

yeah, maybe if you add what system, configuration, GPU, etc… it helps
No telepatic powers here, still.
Hi *******,
sorry I describe this in previous post when I share other bugs.

So, again:

I did a new, fresh installation of 10.15.1 on MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2010) with graphics cards:
- NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 256 MB
- Intel HD Graphics 288 MB
with dosdude1 patcher (1.2.3).

So far I experience such problems:
  • PDF on QuickView and Preview show often without all images
  • Google Maps is very slow, practically useless (tested on Safari 13.0.3 and Firefox)
  • No "Photos" tab in Photos.app
  • Some glitches on windows/dialogs corners
  • On Intel graphic mouse cursor slows down when hover on links (I must turn off auto graphic switching to stay on NVidia)
  • I can't change Wallpaper from Preference panel - it's empty, gray empty window.

Thanks
Bero

Mojave is compatible with no-metal graphics card? will you develop a kext to make them compatible in Catalina?
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking. We've already got working patches to run Catalina with (mostly) full acceleration on all non-Metal GPUs that work under Mojave. This forces the system to use OpenGL though; actually writing a Metal driver for our old cards would be extremely hard. (Although another user made some progress patching the Intel 4000 driver to work on Intel 3000 series -- @oliveira131, how is that going?)
[automerge]1574348206[/automerge]
Is AE server a part of Catalina? It appeared in the Security/Privacy>Accessibility CP. Not there in Mojave. Looks dubious?
Not that I know of, is it maybe an Adobe thing? I've seen some Creative Suite stuff adding itself to that list in the past. You could try find / 2>&1 | grep -i "ae server" and see if it turns up anything (this will be slow).

Tnx for the tip. Here is what came up. in man8

Installed this on my MBP 4.1 today, just to see what it was like.
Painless install, with the only glaring issue being the keyboard backlight not working, as others had mentioned.

Amazed that this 11 year old machine is running Catalina and mostly working, even with the original wifi card put back in! It's just a generic web browser, so not really got any solid words on performance.
Awesome work from everyone involved with the installer and patches.

Cool, I guess it's a normal process then. Apple events can be a wide range of things so I guess that one of them required access to that for whatever reason. Maybe you were scripting something that caused that?

The date it appeared was the initial Catalina install, no scripting involved.

Thanks for sharing your wisdom. Much appreciated.

In any event, it was deselected and deleted from the list which includes bash as a selection. So far, everything still works.

I have seen that in mine to AE server maybe they are going to update the WWDC app for Mac to the Developer App like iPhone or the Apple Events app :)
[automerge]1574361915[/automerge] The swu patch works thank you pinarek :)

Last time I tested this, the updates showed up fine, but would not successfully install. Let me know if it works now.

Let me guess... 2011 15" or 17" MacBook Pro? If so, your GPU is failing. This will continue to happen more, until the system no longer boots at all. The AMD GPU has to be disabled for Catalina to run properly, though, so it's no big loss. Not to mention the AMD 6xxx series GPUs are so bad, they're not much better than the integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000.

Hey there, I been having some problems running Catalina on my Mac Pro 3.1. I upgraded my Mojave build and found that my GTX 780Ti will no longer output to a display where as the original GT120 still works fine. I also tried using a Mac edition GTX 680 which will work but with no GPU acceleration, so many visual artefacts and choppy animations (see image). With a fresh installation all three GPU’s work fine but only at 1080p, nothing will display if plug the 680 or the 780Ti into a 4K monitor. Does anyone know how to fix my original build and if it's possible to run a 4K resolution on a 3.1 Mac with Catalina?

Here with this in Terminal: swupatch.sh

Wait, this dosdude1 script has a date modified of may 2017, so it was written for 10.12 Sierra, assuming it downloads an older version of Czo's SUVMMFaker.dylib, therefore the Sierra's swupatch.sh works on Catalina ?

When you download an macOS Update where does it download to I need to free the space since it can't install :)

the OTA stage1 update downloaded here:

/Volumes/CatalinaDataAPFSLabel/Library/Updates/

the OTA stage2 installer extracted here:

/Volumes/CatalinaDataAPFSLabel/macOS Install Data/

I underline "Data" because the Catalina "System" Volume is kept unlocked in order to be overwritten by the new files.

Tried the "Sierra's swupatch.sh" and I get this output (I am still on 10.15.0):
softwareupdate -l Software Update Tool Finding available software Software Update found the following new or updated software: * Label: macOS 10.15.1 Update-10.15.1 Title: macOS 10.15.1 Update, Version: 10.15.1, Size: 4383838K, Recommended: YES, Action: restart,

But can't test further since I have low disk space too, considering I need 4,5 gb for the OTA, then about 7 gb for the extracted ota packages and at least other 15 gb for upgrading Catalina system, can't test it now.

I was about to reply more o less the same. The pitty is, no external displays and no Windows bootcamp. But that´s a minimal sacrifice.

GTX 680 should work like a charm.

I ALWAYS have a spare Volume with a basic, older version of macOS.

That was happening to my Early 2011 Mac Book Pro. One of the sockets for the RAM is damaged. I only use one now and those visual glitches are gone.
