and @burtsevmax try this, boot again from your 10.15.4 with CMD+S (single user mode shell) and type:

Code:
mount -uw /
mount -uw /System/Volumes/Data
chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/
chmod -R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/
kextcache -i /
kcditto
reboot

if "kextcache -i /" fails then you have AMFI enabled, but at this point I don't know how to disable it other than previous methods.

edit:

If the previous still don't work, another try from single user mode: update_dyld_shared_cache -force

As @jhowarth noticed that plist was already present in the new 10.15.4 patcher, so you replaced essentially the same file that was already there, then the boot issues you are encountering should be not related to AMFI or library validation. Even if the verbose messages seems that.

"defaults read or write" work only from a booted Catalina GUI with a logged-in user, from another macOS or a single user mode or recovery terminal they are ineffective because the Catalina com.apple.domains don't work from there.

You are right cause I already tried and said this file does not exist.

Clearly "AMFI enabled" prevents the kextcache to rebuild, so you and @burtsevmax boot from the USB Catalina Patcher and retry to re-apply your machine post-install patches a couple of times selecting "Force rebuild cache".

Also @hvds and @TimothyR734 during 10.15.4 beta updates had AMFI issues even if they correctly disable it through all known methods, it should be something else that triggers AMFI checks again.

Just release version 1.3.2 of Catalina Patcher, which should fix the AMFI issue some people have been getting.

What exactly is the change? I ask because my MacPro 3,1 with GTX680 is running fine with "sudo defaults read /Library/Preferences/com.apple.security.libraryvalidation.plist DisableLibraryValidation" showing "1". Are you switching methods for disabling AMFI or just fixing the setting of that plist?

That plist seems to be hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't (as we've seen here). I've now switched to using DisableLibraryValidation.kext, which should work 100% of the time.

So will existing installations need to be reinstalled to absorb that change or will it be applied by Patch Updater?

It shouldn't matter. If it works with the plist, it should stay working. New installs done with the latest patcher will install DisableLibraryValidation.kext.

Well, looks like it doesn't work with the kext either. This is super annoying. Going to have to release another update.

Hello evrybody

Successfully installed 10.15.4 on my iMac 10,1 (21" late 2009).
I dowloaded dosdude patcher 1.3.1, and Install Catalina from AppStore to create an USB install key. I booted from this USB stick and performed a re-install of OS. At the end of installation, I hold option key so that i can boot again from the USB stick and proceed to the post-install proposed for my machine. Then rebooted. Patch Update asked me to reinstall Night Shift patch, which I did and restarted again. So far all seems ok. Photos does not seem to need changing of resolution, my local http server looks alright after re-editing httpd.conf, Time Machine operational, Music app working.

Probably because it's a "plist preference" for all users /Library/Preferences/ but works when a Mac user is already created (after an update installation for example), but seems starting from a new install 10.15.4 that plist is ineffective if a new user is not yet settled, however DisableLibraryValidation.kext should work, even if I read some reported that it causes issues to the Music.app and maybe some other.

Yeah, it definitely does cause issues... Ugh. Maybe if I set it in /System/Library/Preferences it will work.

I'm gonna try updating my 5,1 with RX 580 from 10.15.2 to 10.15.4 via "install to this machine." Fingers crossed... This is my first update without a flashed card, but I have my flashed R9 if I need it. Not yet, apparently.

Just downloaded and got version 1.3.0?

Hey guys! I tried to install macOS 10.15.4 Catalina from Dosdude1 on an Unsupported Mac without usb drive!
Install method: Install to this machine!
Now my Mac is stuck with the bar and logo full and the system is not responding!! What's the solution for this?! I already tried to reboot with option key but its not working for me! Thanks for your time! ps:I don't have any other mac machine available to create another usb method!
As I said, do NOT install 10.15.4 yet! There are still issues I need to work out.

Did you install with a patched 10.15.4 installer created with Catalina Patcher 1.3.2? I installed on my MacPro 3,1 with GTX680 using Catalina Patcher 1.3.1 and Music runs just fine.
[automerge]1585161266[/automerge]
This is because you used 1.3.2 of Catalina Patcher, which still isn't working, unfortunately. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

Are there any reports of 1.3.1 being problematic under Metal graphics?

I know is not a proper method, but if the machines don't install the legacy video patch (the other post-install patches can be installed), 10.15.4 will boot and allow the welcome screen on a clean install unsupported mac, then from Catalina desktop if use the ASentientBot libraryvalidation.plist and after apply the legacy video patch it should work.

Anyway seems that apple on purpose added these security checks on SkyLight and CoreDisplay, because this AMFI check is mainly about "non-metal" frameworks.
