Hello!

Can somebody post a working link to Dosdude1´s macOS Catalina Patcher 1.3.1 or send me a copy of it?

I did already install it on an Mac 5.1 and Catalina 15.4 it worked well, but I crashed it by myself ... real stupid :-(

:-D

Please help me and give me another try :-D

Bonsoir,

I'll try a new install of 10.15.4 using @dosdude1 1.3.5. patcher.

As a fact, with the previous install with 1.3.1. patcher, I have a problem on exit from standby :

Perhaps my VPN (I use VyprVPN) ?
Any other ideas ?

Many thanks,

Serviteur,

What machine? If dual-nVidia system, use only the high performance graphics (set from Energy Saver prefpane), and this issue won't occur.

Finally, I have gotten all 10.15.4 issues FIXED in Catalina Patcher, mainly thanks to @ASentientBot's patched boot.efi file keeping SIP disabled! Catalina Patcher version 1.3.5 has now been released with full 10.15.4 support.

So does this imply that folks using the APFS ROM patch (instead of the APFS patch) in combination with the legacy graphics patches weren't seeing the boot problems with a 10.15.4 installer patched with Catalina 1.3.1 (that has the plist method)? Also, is Catalina Patcher 1.3.5 basically Catalina Patcher 1.3.1 with a new boot.efi?

MP 3,1 with GTX 680 2 Go...nothing to say before 1.3.1 and 10.15.4.

I have no dual n-Vidia system and my energy saver prefpane do not mention "high performance graphic.

I have also BT4 with a "Sonnet" card and a Belkin BT4 Dongle (low energy).

APFS ROM patch has nothing to do with anything. The issue was SIPManager.kext wasn't sufficient for disabling SIP with Apple's new library validation changes. SIP being disabled via NVRAM worked fine, but that CANNOT be relied on, as a PRAM reset will cause an unbootable machine. Since you don't need the legacy video card patches, none of this affects you at all.

No idea in that case. I'd suggest doing a clean 10.15.4 install.

Nothing is running in your CPU? Here is typical. "deleted" is always one of the top five.

Hi @K two
here also on MP5,1 10.15.4 (19G266) 0% CPU usage for "deleted" like @serafin79

Have you tried using Onyx, because I often had abnormal CPU usage after some Mojave upgrades which I resolved after using Onyx -> Maintenance.

Is it likely that 10.15.5 (when released) will cause a problem for those who were successful with 1.3.1 and didn’t therefoee have the install of boot.efi from 1.3.5 or would that be taken care of further down the line with your tool?

Did you ever understand why some machines were successful with 1.3.1?

Thanks

No, if you're already on 10.15.4 and it works fine, no need.

Successfully updated to 10.15.4 using Dosdude's 1.3.1 patcher (just before he announced 1.3.5) on my MacPro 3,1 with GTX680.

Anyone else seeing the "deleted" process running constantly in dot4? Not seen in dot3.

I am seeing the deleted process using CPU. It was using ~3% at first glance, but looking at it again I've seen it briefly climb above 50%.

A quick search suggested that iStat Menu's may be the culprit (though on an earlier version of macOS). I have that installed - tried disabling all modules it the iStat Menu settings, but to no effect.

The latest Catalina update seems to have brought some issues on my machine, altough this might have started earlier, one or two weeks ago, when APFS seemed to have gone corrupted and the OS been destroyed. I can not install any OS from USB, itself, neither Catalina, Mojave, or Ubuntu Linux. At some point, something goes wrong. Perhaps the USB function of the motherboard is broken. I have reseted the BIOS settings of my legacy Hackintosh, even did a CMOS reset by removing the battery for 10 minutes (It worked, because the clock was reseted.) From DVD things seem to work. I remember the dosdude1 patch included a function to create an iso file. Would it be theoreticly possible to burn that iso on a dual-layer DVD and install Catalina from it, if the USB install function seems compromised?

Thank you. Very helpful.🧐

Tried the same thing. Looking at the things connected, Skylight and Coredisplay are seen. A Legacy Video Patch issue?

Tried the same thing but uninstalled completely. Looking at what is connected. Skylight and Coredisplay are seen. On this Mini3,1 maybe Legacy Video Patch related?

Thanks so much dosdude1! That sure clears things up a lot. I now have a project to work on, either later on today or tomorrow.

My installation of patched 10.15.4 (from Catalina Patcher 1.3.1) on a MacPro 3,1 with GTX680 is a few days old now and the deleted process is at 0% CPU.

Machines with Metal graphics were immune to the issue in 1.3.1. Apparently dosdude1 hasn't pushed the updated SIPManager.kext via the Patch Updater app yet for the installations done with 1.3.1 yet.
