this was discussed earlier in the thread about permissions not being set for applications using the mic and camera. search the thread for tccplus wrapper
Checked too, same problem here, there’s no input on the system apps, like settings, quicktime etc...
I think it’s driver related, and if u check my first post with this problem, #29373606
i have problems with quality and volume levels too.

Does it makes sense to use the applehda from high sierra (i don’t know if it’s even possible, never tried)?

Hi!

I have a late 2009 iMac 27" (i5-760, HD4850) with two drives, one for High Sierra, and the another with Catalina (installed with Catalina Patcher). Everything works perfectly, except the audio.

With the same external speakers plugged in, the audio quality with high Sierra is much better (I can hear the difference easily), and the max volume is also higher(at the same volume level, eg.: 4bars, the HS is nearly two times louder than Catalina).
In high Sierra, the microphone is working perfectly, but in Catalina I can't make it work, no input at all.

Tried NVRAM reset, no luck.
Im kinda newbie to this community, is there a way maybe to use "my own" drivers from high Sierra in Catalina for the audio?
The 2009 iMac is very close to my iMac 2010.
I installed Catalina with DosDude1's Catalina Patcher.
Initially I didn't apply Legacy Audio patch nor Audio Volume Patch.
I got no sound nor mic input in Sound System Preferences.
After I later applied both, everything worked.
I am not sure whether the audio chip would be the same between our iMacs or whether there could be individual difference in the batch of chips employed over time.

I already did re-apply the patches, but no change. I don’t know if they’re the same or not :/

My apologies. Go to page 519 and read post #12964. format your installer drive in correct format and then make your installer.

Hi guys! I have a MacPro3,1 machine with Sierra 10.12.6 installed on a SSD and a software RAID 0 (for data only) with two WD Black drives created with Disk utility long ago (in Snow Leopard IIRC). Works fine till this day.

If I upgrade my SSD to Catalina will this RAID still work? Do I risk an array breakdown or data loss (I do have a backup). Thanks! :)

Hello all.
I have WIFI not working on MacbookAir4,1. It managed to connect a couple of times (after restart) and work. But then nothing. It sees the networks but when I try to connect to any network I always get "The network could not be found".
What I tried so far is to reapply Legacy WIFI patcher from dosdude1 http://dosdude1.com/catalina/patchupdates/legacyWifi.zip
but without success. It still does not work. Please any ideas are welcome

Thanks for all the help and support.

It is always helpful to know which unsupported Mac when asking for help? Can you boot back into the patcher USB?

Go to the Patch Updater in the Utilitiesƒ and make sure the Broadcom patch is installed, the legacy WI-FI patch is for Atheros chipsets, your Mac is Broadcom.

Afterthought - Since networks can be seen, go to Network Preferences and de-select Automatic Join and then remove your network from the selector, close rhe C/P and reboot. Then re-establish your network.

Don’t worry about it. I totally give up on it. I put it on eBay. Let someone else worry about it.
