Yep. First Big Sur for a couple of months, now Monterey. Flawless. N.B.: Monterey needs post-install patches on your MBP.Has anyone tried to install Monterery or Big Sur on a 2012 MacBook Pro non-retina
You cannot enable SIP and using a patched unsupported macOS at the same time.Does anyone know how to uninstall the SIP Disabler Patch ? I booted from a Catalina install USB stick, reinstalled all the usual patches except the SIP Disabler Patch, forced rebuild of caches and rebooted. After reboot, "Patch Updater" said the SIP Disabler Patch was still installed?
Is there a way to remove the SIP Disabler Patch (without reinstalling maCOS) ?
Look at the plist for the list of installed patches. Maybe it's not actually installed anymore? Maybe try to find how it was installed. Then you can see if it's installed.Does anyone know how to uninstall the SIP Disabler Patch ? I'm leaving mine on 11.6.1 for now. Works so much better than Catalina.Has anyone tried to install Monterery or Big Sur on a 2012 MacBook Pro non-retina ?
OK, thanks. That makes sense – I was worried that enabling SIP would cause problems. You cannot enable SIP and using a patched unsupported macOS at the same time.
But you may upgrade your GPU to a metal one (iMac11,1) and using OCLP you can have Catalina running with SIP enabled (because no patches are applied to the files system).
Code:Log file says: Validating target...done; Validating source...done; Could not unmount volume "/Volumes/cat" (Operation timed out)
Just a guess: GUID Partition Table instead of MBR?Hi all,
I'm trying to make installer on a USB (on mac mini 2011, to install it on the same).
I got strange error when installer starts "An error occurred while restoring BaseSystem.dmg. Ensure that your target installer volume is formatted as "macOS Extended (Journaled)" (HFS+), then try running the tool again." but mu USB (brend new) was just forrmatted on macOS Extended (Journaled)?!
Can anyone have similar experience and hot how to solve it?
Operation timed out usually means you have a slow flash drive and it simply didn't complete in time. What model Flash Drive are you using?Hi all,

Not impssible. Go to Library/Updates ƒ and delete everything in the folder and run CatalinaOTAfix, again. Make certain the OTA update fix button is applied early in the D/L. Install SU-008 as it contains all previous updates and is the release version.Re: Impossible install security updates after clean Install Catalina (19H2).
Hello all,
After clean Catalina install, impossible to install successfully security updates using as per instructions with CatalinaOTAfix as has been possible in prior install of Catalina (I had Big Sur but decided to revert back to Catalina). I get a continuous "loop" of what seems a successful install process of 005, 007, 008 security updates but when checking OS version update still remains 19H2. In System Report/Software/Installations I see the series of security installions I have executed. I have also tried installs in Safe Mode, wiping out the old system security database, cache clearing through terminal mode and reindexing spotlight and relaunching dock (both through terminal ) but no luck. Does any one have suggestions?
I have not been able to get CatalinaOTAswufix to work. Which instructions did you follow?A couple of quick delta updates courtesy of CatalinaOTAswufix, OC, @dosdude1 Catalina Patcher v.1.4.4 both in less than 30 minutes incl. post install patches and Force Cache Rebuild. Both also required MRT and Validation Patch updates. Build 19H1615 is now the release version and runs as expected without issues.
The instructions are built-in and very succinct, follow them closely. There appears to be a learning curve involved? See #14,965 if previouly failed.I have not been able to get CatalinaOTAswufix to wrk. Which instructions did you follow?

Hi Icubedjust updated my MacBook Pro 8,2 to 008. did you select the 'rebuild caches' option after performing the post-installation patches?
Reboot into the patcher USB not Catalina. Leave the Software Update CP untouched during the installation, does the macOS progress screen appear during the upgrade? Has NVRAM been reset? BootROM version?Hi Icubed
Once the update 008 installed I reboot to Catalina and patcher (1.44) never pops -up to ask reinstall of library validation, night shift, backlight as it usually does after update. That is , in my opinion because the system remains at 19H2 as if the 008 never happened.
