Look for the OpenCoreAPFSloader3 from jackluke you can install it on your Catalina Patcher or if you have a spare 1gb usb after creating the OpenCoreAPFSloaer boot into it and in the menu select nvram reset the will add the no-compat check and AMFI-get-out-of-the-way in the boot-args and disables the telemetry and if your going to be replacing Kext’s you need to add disable authenticated root to the boot-args as well

I replaced the AppleHDA & IO80211Family kexts with the High Sierra versions through a Big Sur USB recovery terminal, but I still have the same Wi-Fi/audio situation too.
I did kextcache -i / kmutil install --update-all kcditto but I presume now, that I have to do this from single-user mode. However, I'm getting error 66 when mounting system volume as writable — and I'm not sure how to disable/delete snapshot booting to circumvent the error.
I don't fully understand snapshots tbh…it's difficult to grip an understanding of.

Try to use my patched prelinkedkernel (this embedded telemetrap.kext , LegacyUSBInjector.kext, AppleHDA.kext and IO80211Family.kext, maybe also AAAMouSSE.kext ): patched prelinkedkernel.zip beta1

And replace it here: /Volumes/UUID-BigSur/System/Library/PrelinkedKernels/

together with this BigSur prelinkedkernel fix.zip

to copy here: /Volumes/UUID-BigSur/System/Library/CoreServices/

At reboot you could have also Sound and Wifi.

I didn’t get a KP when using patched BaseSystem with replaced boot.efi. (I got responsive LegacyUSB for the first time and didn’t work again for some reasons...) Can you send me the BootKernelExtension.kc file that you’re using for me to find out a different approach?

@jackluke Just reinstalled BS on internal SSD (I have read on forums that often It fails to boot from external USB) removed SIP, telemetry, compat-check... It boots, the screen becomes black from white, It continues loading, when the bar Is almost at the end of the run It crashes... ? Waiting for the official automatic patcher.

Have you tried USBOpenCoreAPFSloader3 ? Because it works even with BigSur sealed system and snaphot booting enabled, anyway you should use my prelinkedkernel method, as also explained in this post.

I doubt that an automatic patcher will be released soon for any Mac without video acceleration (and legacy IOUSB), and when BigSur System is sealed with snapshot booting is even harder to make an automatic patcher.

An automatic patcher is only "easier" for "Catalina supported Mac" or eventually "HighSierra APFS supported Mac" with a Metal GPU upgrade and upgraded Broadcom Wifi 802.11ac .

This seems like an excellent discovery. For sake of better understanding of the order of things, do I understand this right, that once you have the OS installed, you go on to fix 66, then you install extensions, then you bless the drive and reboot?

@Badruzeus on the other "non-mac hardware" forums are there any fixes for AppleACPICPU early kernel panic for booting the USB BigSur Installer (or installation) when using IntelHD Arrandale (or Arrandale i5 cpu) and i3 Clarkdale cpu ?

Because these Intel architecture are unable to boot the BigSur beta1 kernel , probably they need some DSDT fix.

I made many attempts but can't figure it out, unless AAPL on BigSur beta 2 fixes this kp.

I have a late 2013 iMac, so how do I go about getting BiG Sur when its released, my iMac is very fast still has SSD and good amount of ram.

Would I need to go down an unofficial route to get the new OSX or will Apple still give me the option of installing it?

If I decided to stay on Catlaina would I still get security/fixes via apple update.

Sorry for noob questions, but this will be first time I have had an apple device not supported.

Thanks

If your device isn't supported officially Apple won't offer further upgrades. If you run Catalina they'll give you another 2 years of "Security updates".

Yes, I have, but maybe I'm missing something. I have used the same Catalina that I use to install for @ASentientBot patch, but your app won't accept any USB pendrive/external disk (GUI, macOS journaled formatted) Why?

My Macmini 4,1 works pefectly with Catalina (No-Metal graphic acceleration included) so I really hope that it will be possible to upgrate to Big Sur.

A couple hours ago I tested @ASentientBot's HaxLib.dylib from Hax3, and it inhibited volume sealing just like Hax2Lib.dylib.

By the way, v0.0.5 of my patcher is out now. It's possible that I'll just leave ease-of-use where it is now, for the time being, and see what I can do with my patcher regarding WiFi first. (v0.0.5 is already a huge advance over previous versions since it doesn't require a separate Hax download anymore.)

From your device list I don't notice any USB flash drive plugged, if your "Install macOS Beta" is a BigSur installer then try to make USBopencore selecting it and use this option "Near an USB device without erasing"

Does BootKernelExtensions.kc contain AAAMouSSE.kext or not? Is unclear what 'maybe also AAAMouSSE.kext' means for Patched BootKernelExtensions.kc beta1.

Maybe later I'll try to make a new BootKernelExtensions.kc with LegacyUSB, but I should use the stock BigSur /System/Library/Extensions/, I included the patched IO80211Family.kext because wanted to add also Wifi in the recovery (as it worked for Catalina Recovery), in any macOS Recovery there is "Get Help Online" aka a Safari browser from where you can also download files.

I guess I included it too, don't know how to extract a .kc kernelcache, not sure if I included too the GeForceTesla.kext .

Try this: patched BootKernelExtensions.kc beta1 with legacy usb

it contains all the stock BigSur beta1 Extensions with the addition of parrotgeek1 LegacyUSBInjector.kext and Syncretic telemetrap.kext .

its a drag and Drop
marvelInjectos is just an exemple of draging kext

Its not test on unsupported Mac I wait for @TimothyR734 result
so don't use

Sorry for my English, in my iMac late 2012 macOS 11 is working very well. The only thing that does not work is the wifi, what file would I have to download and where to replace it to activate it? I have tried a Wifi AC USB and it works! but I don't have AirDrop and Handoff, I imagine these devices are not compatible to have AirDrop and Handoff. I would like to activate the wifi of the Mac to see if I have AirDrop and Handoff available. Thank you very much.
