That is if you want to still use NVIDIA. What about using only Iris Pro graphics isn't that possible?
I am asking because I want to disable NVIDIA for heat management and installing Monterey 12.1 without the drivers would be the perfect solution.
AFAIK, even if you disable the dGPU, it's still being powered. On my 2011 MBP with failed dGPU, I disabled it and also removed the resistor (R8911) that powers it.

OTA updated this machine from 11.6/OCLP 0.3.1 to 12.0.1: foolishly didn't babysit the process, and when I came back to the Mac, it was unresponsive with a black screen. Performed a hard restart, and since then it's been fine (I ran Disk Utility over it afterwards just to be safe). Except... I use a Magic Trackpad (first version), set with "Tap to Click", and since updating, it doesn't always recognise when I tap it (maybe once every 20 taps). I've since installed OCLP 0.3.2N, and it's possibly slightly better, but not quantifiably. It's far from being a deal-breaker, but I wondered if anyone has a similar issue, and possibly a solution? My thanks to everyone involved with these projects of keeping older Macs up to date.
The OCLP patching for BRCM2046 Macs on Monterey does not fully support Apple B/T devices. The Apple B/T KB has issues, as well. To fix the lack of tap with the Apple Trackpad, de-selecting and re-selecting the option in the Trackpad CP worked here for awhile.

Thanks to everyone who answered my questions, and of course Mr Macintosh and Open core team! All installed but the only issue I'm having is Safari crashing and that causes a full system freeze and have to manually reboot, happened 3 times already today. Had a read through from page 90 on here but can't see any mention. Did I miss the post or is this just a current bug?

The cascading Webkit crash goes away in 12.1b ;)

I am using gswitch to force graphics usage, but KODI for instance initializes on the dGPU and if gswitch has Intel forced it will output a black screen. If there are no drivers for NVIDIA during boot theoretically the dGPU has to be disabled and even if it is powered the power draw should be minimal.

Installed fine on my MacBook Air from 2012 however I can't connect to my HomePod. Anyone else know how to fix this?

I found this out as well I believe on my Mini. My bluetooth preference pane opens but will not even allow me to turn bluetooth on currently. Ug. It was in fact working with devices synced prior to OS 12 until OCLP 0.3.1 even though the toggle was inop, now all is inop.

Hey guys! I just wondering if there is any update from @dosdude1 for his new project - Monterey patch!
Do we know when and will be released yet?
I think that he has done a remarkable job in the past and I hope hearing news from
Him soon!
Sorry for my bad English !
Cheers ?

Hi, all.
When I turn my iMac 14.2 with Monterey and OCLP 0.3.2 on, I see such a screen, by default EFI starts, but then nothing happens and the system does not boot. Can I achieve a normal boot macos?

Thank you

After pressing Enter key or double clicking on the EFI, what's the next screen? You should see your MACHD icon.

I think you have to Control-click the arrow on the EFI partition to make it the default boot partition. Also, you have to change, Set BootPicker Mode to False in the patcher.

I think this is wrong EFI because after clicking it nothing happens and I see the empty screen.
Try to do a NVRAM reset: There are 2 ways to reset NVRAM. Try the option+ cmd + P + R first.

P.S. Just updated my iMac10,1 from 12.0.1 to 12.1b over the air. All went good without any issue with the latest OCLP 0.3.2 RDRAND fix. The safari froze up once after about 1hr. After that it seems running well although it's a tad slower than Big Sur, and much more slower than Catalina when typing. And my beloved Messages app still runs very sluggish. So this will remain a test system only and I will be back to Catalina with my Core-2-Duo CPU and non-metal graphics card iMac10,1? Such is life?

Nothing changed
Try to boot up with a newly built OCLP EFI from a USB stick, then select your MACHD.
You will need to hold down the Alt/option key immediately after turning on and select the EFI on the USB, which will have a different look compared to the existing internal EFI.
If still not working, it's the time to reinstall Monterey macOS.
