MBP4,1 Early 2008 17-inch -- successfully updated from 12.5b1 to 12.5b2 via OCLP 0.4.6n of today June 1st.

Will report, if and which flaws occur. the latest changes khronokernel has made to OCLP solved a harsh problem of system crashes that persisted trough all betas of 12.3, 12.4 and 12.5. the only stable version being 12.3.1, thus the back port by khronokernel of libs. I cannot thank him enough for his outstanding work, helping us all out.

Just wondering if I can expect the same on my 13" rMBP late 2013. I'm currently running Big Sur. This comment is a year old, still running faster and are you happy with it?
I've never used Big Sur but I recently jumped to Monterey and I'd say it's at least as fast as Catalina on my 13" rMBP late 2013.

Successful upgrade to Monterey 12.4 (21F79), using OCLP 0.4.6n.
System appears to be a little bit more stable, but freezing yet.
Let's see if RAM upgrade can solve my freezings in next week.

Where to download 046
The direct download links should not be posted. As on the page shown above, viewers should be directed to that page.
Most people will probably find using 0.4.5 (link shown below) is best.

the question was where to download Opencore legacy Patcher 046 N ?
There is no such download link but you can only use it when running the software from the sources as described on the OLCP Github page (in case you never read it there, before).

Reason is simple:
The access is limited to developers or users with a developer alike back ground just because supporting the developer versions within the public became impossible in the past. So please wait until you get access to released software.

This morning I had the full screen on my 2011 MBP 8,2 with OCLP 4.5 on 12.4 screen turn red all of a sudden. After I rebooted I noticed my AMD dgpu was listed - I had not noticed that before but I don't always check.

A few versions and OS updates back I had disabled it via nvram. Not to clear on how or when it came back and if that was the cause of the red screen. The MBP seems to be running fine now however should I disable the dgpu again? Are there any other setting in OCLP developer I should enable or disable. Thanks!

The NVRAM entries will go away after a single NVRAM (PRAM) reset. So in case you are not sure if the (known to fail) AMD 6490 is still working properly disable it and keep it disabled on the long run. Guess the OCLP guide explains how to maintain this.

Found the procedure to disable the known to fail discrete graphics chip in the online guide. I have a late 2011 MBP8,2 with the AMD HD 6750 & the HD 3000 graphics. Never knew it could be updated to Monterey (incredible work by the OCLP devs!). That MBP is still running High Sierra. Do you think it is better to try Big Sur first or go directly to Monterey?

Hi friends, I am trying to install MacOS 12.4 (21F79) on my old Macbook pro 7.1 (2010 model). I created a installation flashdisk with Opencore 4.4.5 and then I tried to install on an external hard drive (USB 2.0) but almost at the end of the installation, everything remains on the apple logo with the words: "Time remaining less than a minute". I've been waiting for several hours and the situation doesn't seem to change. Currently in my internal SSD I have Catalina installed and it works fine, what do you think I can do? Thanks everyone for your help!

This is covered on the troubleshooting page of OCLP: You "just" have to wait until the installation has finished.

I went ahead and disabled it again - just not sure how it changed or got wiped out from nvram on its own since I had not done it - the laptop is just kept on and open all the time with the screen saver on when not in use. I have just simply rebooted a few times since 12.4 and OCLP 4.5 update. Also, I never tried any other OS on this laptop - just went from High Sierra to Monterey - very happy with it by the way.

That's really strange, because these grey blocks had been around for months!
It is true for Monterey, but under Catalina(!) on the same hardware (MBP 5.3) MS Word 16.61 works properly relating to transparency of selected text. I don't believe that in Monterey such functionality is impossible because of metal problematic. After extraordinary successful efforts of developers to launch Monterrey on unsupported Macs it should be "must have" functionality!

Apple changed a lot on the way from Mojave to Monterey when it comes to patching/altering a system. Additionally patching (i.e. using older macOS software parts) became more and more difficult because these older parts simply became incompatible with new releases. So one cannot extrapolate from the simple world of Catalina patching to the complex situation on Monterey.

If you need such a "must have" functionality you simply have to buy a more recent Mac, at least from 2012 or newer. This is a bitter truth.

You have no idea how much work the people put into this more and more fragile OpenGL back patching project and what new problems they faced with each new Big Sur an Monterey beta version...

If you want to believe something you found the wrong place here!
Edit: You could have simply asked why it works on Catalina and not on Monterey.

For two days I have been trying to get different versions of MacOS on my 2010 MacPro 5,1 with OCLP 0.4.5

Start-ROM-versie: 144.0.0.0.0
SMC-versie (system): 1.39f11
SMC-versie (processor): 1.39f11
Chipsetmodel: NVIDIA Quadro K2000
Fabrikant: NVIDIA (0x10de)
devicecode: 0x0ffe
Revisioncode: 0x00a2
ROM-revisie: 3738
Metal: supported, functionset macOS GPUFamily1 v4
Diagnostic info: passed

MacOs Catalina will not install, after boot get a black screen.
MacOS Big Sur get to the point of installing and than a black screen.
Mac OS Monterey gets to 96% installation, reboots 2 times and than black screen.
According to Dortania Github I had to do some spoofing and set SMBios to minimal to make OS believe it is version 7,1
I've been trying for two days in total 24 times, but it doesnt work for me.
Is there a way to make it possible to install Monterey or should I wait for a new OCLP

Check the GUI for developer MXM settings and pick NVIDIA, pick minimal spoofing and do not mess around with any other settings.

Run OCLP on the MacPro5,1 with exactly the same hardware installed you are planning to use and create the new OpenCore EFI.

Hope this works out.

I'm running a MBP4.1 2008 15-inch model. With Big Sur it had Bluetooth working with Monterey BT will not switch on. Does BT work on your system?
