I created a user account and it also beachballs. So, this seems to be a general issue on your machine and /or OS installation, since it's not limited to a single process.
Might be related to graphics patches for older GPUs possibly needed for your machine.
You might try to create a fresh new user account and see whether it happens there as well

Update the GPU in your iMac 2010 - you can have unpatched Monterey and full application support and surely/hopefully no such crashes.iMovie Termination Reason Namespace SIGNAL, Code 11 Segmentation fault 11
On my iMac (27-inch, Mid 2010) I try to make a project with iMovie but it seems to crash.
I run macOS Monterey installed with OCLP.
See the attachments for the error.
Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 11 Segmentation fault: 11
Is this an error that can somehow be fixed?
Are there settings in OCLP that can resolve this?
Maybe the SMBIOS Spoof Level?
Thanks in advance
You'll need an older version of iMovie, if you don't want to upgrade your GPU.iMovie Termination Reason Namespace SIGNAL, Code 11 Segmentation fault 11

Much more, indeed.Safari seems snappier.
Leaving High Sierra behind you left also some features only supported on more recent macOS versions by different hardware, like AirDrop & UC (needs BT/WiFi upgrade), AirPlay (needs different dGPU or better metal iGPU), Metal (needs metal dGPU), etc.Hello, was wondering if anyone has similar issue, I have installed monterey on imac 2009 and everything works great except I cannot mirror or airplay to apple tv or sonos, I was able to previously on high sierra natively, Is there something Im doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also have big sur running on 3 other 2009 imac and same problem.
no one any idea on the issue?i have a very strange issue with my iMac 2011 21.5". suddenly i cannot install monterey anymore. it always bootlopps in the volume sealing stage with a error reading
Thank you, Ill try an app out, appreciate feedback.Leaving High Sierra behind you left also some features only supported on more recent macOS versions by different hardware, like AirDrop & UC (needs BT/WiFi upgrade), AirPlay (needs different dGPU or better metal iGPU), Metal (needs metal dGPU), etc.
There are some third party software products offering similar features without hardware upgrades, free teleport for UC etc. The big search machine is your best friend here.
P.S.:
AirPlay to AppleTV remains broken even with an updated dGPU on Monterey as far as I can tell. Worked with all new AMD dGPU until Catalina.
About the dGPU change check the link in my signature.
You could do a secondary partition and just have both. Doesn't hurt especially for those one offs where you need native features from high Sierra....Hello, was wondering if anyone has similar issue, I have installed monterey on imac 2009 and everything works great except I cannot mirror or airplay to apple tv or sonos, I was able to previously on high sierra natively, Is there something Im doing wrong? Reset NVRAM. Start again from the top, boot efi, installer, disk utility, erase disk and then proceed with clean install.no one any idea on the issue?
Same thing, MacBook Pro 10,1, OCLP 0.5.2, dGPU disabled (dead 650M), using HD4000 with NVDAResman and NVDAStartup kexts loaded to enable screen brightness control. Not sure, but GPU might be somehow relevant to this issue.Anyone else seen this?
Since this weeks update to monterey (I also got a separate safari update). Safari is very slow on youtube. Its also started showing no google results in the dropdown which I remember from a previous update that got resolved.
Even typing this in is excruciatingly slow.
v0.5.2 of the patcher. macbook pro 9,2. All root patches applied.
thanks

That’s a known issue for USB 1.1 device (usually for HID i.e. keyboard). The work around is to connect the device via a USB 3.0 hub.Weird issue on Mac Pro 4,1 usbs don't function if plugged in while booted to the desktop. But If I shut down and plug in the usb device and then start Mac Pro they work fine. If I unplug that usb and plug back in they stop working until I reboot anyone run into this? Its all usb devices that I've tested so far. Latest open core installed....Tested in high Sierra and unable to reproduce the issue and work fine so I don't think its hardware only a problem in Monterey.
