Anyone updated to 12.6.4?
Yes, catastrophic. Patch fails, impossible to create a new snapshot. Safari bugs as reported above. Wait before doing this update!
edit : solved, it was a specific problem.

Too late. Everything works perfect for me.

Successful OTA upgrade. Everything works great including Safari 16.4 except...

Camo Studio isn't playing nicely with FaceTime. It's fine with other videoconferencing software, but if you were looking to Camo Studio to replicate Continuity Camera over FaceTime it's not happening on my machine. Caveat that I'm sticking with OCLP 0.4.11 on my iMac 14,1 for now because I'm not interested in a Ventura upgrade at this point.

(This was an issue in Monterey 12.6.3 as well as 12.6.4.)

12.6.4 update finishing as we speak... 2010 MBP (non-critical computer). Got through its first reboots, now 10 mins remaining.

Before starting I downloaded the new 0.6.2 and rebuilt/reinstalled Open Core in advance.

Rebooted to black screen with visible cursor, but moving the cursor after awhile woke up the login screen.

Logged in no problem. There was an OCLP message about needing root patches and said I was running 0.6.1 and to download the new version (?).

Saying OK opened Safari 16.4, which isn't displaying pages properly (switches repeatedly between web content and blank).

Opened the already installed 0.6.2 to run root patches (Nvidia Tesla and Intel Ironlake, and keyboard backlight.

Restarted, logged in. Safari is still not displaying pages properly, latest Firefox is fine.

Note: On my Ventura-upgraded 2013 MBA I use the Safari Technology Preview 16.4, no problem. Holding that computer at 13.2.1 for now due to AMFI.

Updated to 12.6.4 on my MBP 10,2 with delta OTA after reverting root patch. Everything is good, nothing seems broken. Also updated Safari to 16.4 and everything is fine, you just have to reinstall root patch for the WebKit patch.

Went back to Monterey a few days ago from Ventura, just too many things broken on HD4000 graphics, I guess this will be the last OS for my decade old machine.

Many things also broken in Mac pro 5,1 with Ventura. At least, we have support, I hope, till late next year.

Hi,

On my MBP 2011 -> no issue with 12.6.4 but big issue with Safari 16.4.
All pages are blank or not complete.
I tried to back to 16.3, but issues with loading the pages (nothing works).
I don't know how to get Safari without issues :
- go to Ventura (but known issue with the intel HD Graphics 3000)
- make a bootable USB with the full 12.6.4 to get a new Safari 16.3 (and never install 16.4)
Yep,

I have the same issue with my mid2010 21.5 iMac...

MBP4,1 Early 2008 17-inch updated to 12.6.4 via OCLP 0.6.3n.
The update didn't go through smoothly. After d/l the installer files via Softwareupdate, the machine was stuck. Reboot delivered the before used macOS 12.6.3, with 20GB invisible files added to my machine. Cleared the /library/updates folder, to no avail. Fired up Softwareupdate again, both updates macOS 12.6.4 and Safari 16.4 showed, but were not re-downloadable. the machine was from that point no longer restartable or to be shut-down, had to press on/off button on keyboard 5 secs. to shut it down the hard way. After repeating the above several times, finally the machine got updated to 12.6.4.

The 20GB of invisible residue files remain. How can I get rid of this?

Edit:
Sleep mode: works
Restart: doesn't work
Shut down: doesn't work
Safari 16.4: works

Edit#2:
the 20GB identify as "hidden space", which cannot be deleted.

I ran Disk Utilty and it found 11 snapshots, 1 named "com.apple.os.updates-XXX..." and 10 named "com.apple.bless-XXX..."

After 2 days of research, I found a solution, by replacing in sys_patch.py the path for mounting the system volume in r/w.

Instead of :
Code:
/System/Volumes/Update/mnt1
I chose a custom mount point :
Code:
/Users/myuser/Downloads/mnt1

edit: finally, I understood the origin of the problem: normally, this /System/Volumes/Update/mnt1 folder is empty when nothing is mounted on it. In my case, there was a whole system, I deleted everything and the problem is solved.

@roysterdoyster Another user reported that MBP4,1 must stay with 0CLP 0.6.2 for now. See here.
Thanks for pointing me to that post.
However, on my MBP4,1 OCLP 0.6.2 renders blank pages on Safari and does not solve the issues I described in detail above.

Edit: Today's OCLP 0.6.3n solved the problem of fail to Restart and Shut down.

@trifero

hey, did you update your HD4000 Mac mini (6,2) to Monterey 12.6.4?
If so, everything including safari is working okay? No problems?

I wanna update, but concerned after reading @sinbad21 ’s report…….

Hello, it was a specific problem. I had some junk files in folder /System/Volumes/Update/mnt1, so the patcher couldn't patch as it uses this folder as a mount point for writing on the system volume. The problem is solved now, and Monterey 12.6.4 runs fine. Concerning Safari 16.4, there are display problems with OCLP 0.6.2, but no problem with 0.6.3 beta.

Anyone updated to 12.6.4?
Yes, without any problems, also no Safari issues as described in other posts, on a Mac mini 6,1.
The steps I took:
1) Update Open Core patcher from 0.6.1 to 0.6.2
2) Build and install open core
3) Download macOS 12.6.4 and Safari 16.4 (around 11,5 GB in total) from System Preferences in macOS
4) Had dinner
5) Came back, download and install were finished
6) Installation of the Post Install Root patches

The only thing I noticed was between step 5 and 6 I received a message from the Open Core patcher app that I was still on 0.6.1 and that I needed to update. Same as @plugsnpixels in post #8559

Thanks it’s nice to hear that another HD 4000 machine had good results. I‘ll update in a few days.

I am curious, though, about the necessity of step 2 above. On my HD 4000 hackintosh running Monterey, I rarely update the boot loader. I do download the latest version of open core legacy patcher app, so that I’m able to install the latest version of the root patches…. But Even on a real unsupported Mac, I’m not sure how necessary it is to update the boot loader (build and install the open core EFI) before every update for Monterey updates this year and next. I know that Ventura probably needs to update the bootloader before version updates this year…..

You're welcome.
I thinks it's not necessary to update the boot loader every time there is a new version of OCLP.
I take a look at the changelog and if there are many changes I run the process.
It's an easy process and it doesn't take long.
And I don't think I harm the EFI partition or anything else of the Mac running this process.
