I'm having an error "A problem repeatedly occur" since I installed Safari 16.3. I tried to clean caches, installed java, clock, etc... and what worked was reinstalling Monterey 12.6.3 again which has safari 15.6.1, but when I upgraded to 16.3 again it started showing that error on every site again!.

On my unsupported MacBook Air (2013) I gave up on Safari. Now I use the Safari Technology Preview without issue, as well as FF/Chrome as needed.

Run the OCLP Post Install patch. WebKit needs to be patched again after installing Safari 16.

Hi, I am having the very same issue but with a Mac Pro 5,1. It worked once but I performed a clean install but I cannot install Monterey anymore.
Did you find a solution?

Hi I'm running Montery on MBP 10,1 using OCLP. Everything fine and done a couple of OTA updates since first upgrading and running post install root patches. After upgrading to OCLP 0.6.1 I have issues running post install patches (I should note that I ran "post install root patch" before running "build and install opencore" after first installing to 0.61 - not sure if this matters.
1) can't Copy from the log window hence I've not posted the full log
2) unable to build new kernel patch error domain=KMErrordomain code=71

Subsequently rebooted, ran "build and install opencore" (no errors/issues) rebooted but I'm still getting the same error when running "post install root patch". Any suggestions how to fix this?

Try this.
1. Download OCLP 0.6.1 from GitHub again.
2. Move downloaded file into program folder.
3. You will be asked if you want to replace the existing OpenCore Patcher. Click Replace.
4. Open the OpenCore-Patcher application.
5. Ran Post install Root Patch.

Thanks, I tried re-downloading and installing OCLP 0.6.1 to the applications folder instead. Still getting the same error. Still can't copy from the log so screen grabbed it instead:

I finally found what was happening.
It seems that some values were trapped in the NVRAM from an failed OTA update that I tried to Ventura. Try to reset the NVRAM using the key combination cmd + opt + R + P when powering on the computer and keep it pressed until you hear two chimes. Then retry the installation.

Hi everyone.
Since the former Monterey and now Ventura work excellently on my Late 2013 iMac, I'd like to ask a small question about my MacBook Pro 13" Mid 2010 (MacBookPro7,1).
I tried installing Monterey with OCLP 0.6.2 Night; so the MBP works fine and with Monterey it's even smoother than Catalina installed with the dosdude1 patch.
Unfortunately, however, with Monterey (and I believe also with Ventura) iMovie and Final Cut Pro X crash, like other Metal-based programs and I can't watch the movies purchased from AppleTV+ because the screen stays black. Also Photo Booth shows a black screen.
Can you kindly give me some suggestions and maybe a solution?
Thank you

Note: iMovie and FinalCut also don't work with Catalina installed with dosdude1's patch but in Catalina, however, I can get them to work using High Sierra versions.

Would it be possible to have a dual-boot situation on a 2013 iMac with OCLP/Monterey and Catalina alongside it?

I've successfully installed Monterey (was on Ventura, but prefer Monterey) and Big Sur with OCLP thanks to Mr Macintosh's YouTube videos, but for some reason, Adobe Acrobat Reader won't work after download and install. My work demand use of AAR for standardisation reasons when we share screens on Zoom (long story...) so was hoping to run Catalina solely for this purpose and use the Monterey install for all other tasks.

I dont think it will work well. Both patches work on hidden EFI drive and have different method of patching and it will crash your system.

Hi @SPJones! I also have an iMac late 2013 (i7 CPU 24GB RAM and nVidia GTX780M 4GB VRAM).

ONE
From what you say I deduce that you too, like I did, have dissociated the two disks of the Fusion Drive to replace the mechanical HD with an SSD.
If so, surely you can install Catalina on the internal 128GB Apple SSD! In fact, in my opinion... you have to install it because this way you will always be sure that your Mac will always be bootable even if Apple (as perhaps they are about to do) blocks Ventura in unsupported Macs via hidden security updates which is a new future feature of Ventua.
So Catalina will be useful at least while waiting for a new OCLP build to fix the problem.

TWO
Why do you say you're not with Ventura? Everything works fine for me and if you look for my previous post you will see that I explain how you can also activate the "Live Text" and the automatic removal of image backgrounds... In fact these functions are blocked by OCLP because in some Macs they cause blocks and KP, but our iMacs (at least mine) are immune to these problems.
For me, therefore, everything works in Ventura and not only Acrobat Reader, but also Acrobat Pro, Photoshop (latest 2023 version), etc.
All macOS system and all apps work 110% better than Catalina. Also Stage Manager works stupendly... Geekbench 6 tests are also outstanding and give equal or superior results to several 2019 and 2020 Macs…
A sign that Apple didn't make the most of the iMac hardware until Catalina or maybe they held hardware voluntary back...
The fact is that since - in theory - Ventura shouldn't work with my iMac, perhaps there are no more blocks in the macOS code and the Mac, therefore, fly...
[Note: the only application that doesn't work in Ventura is "Continuity Camera" and its equivalent app, Camo, also doesn't work, but it works great in Catalina].

Bye

:(

But thanks anyway! Do you think a Linux dual boot would work instead (alongside OCLP)?

Hi mate. Yes, I have a 500GB SSD in my iMac.

Glad to hear your setup is working well. I've had issues with Adobe Acrobat Reader with OCLP on both Ventura and Monterey. Ventura was giving me issues with lots of keyboard shortcuts not functioning and also causing apps to crash.

My thoughts were that if OCLP boot crashed I could simply do a recovery back to Catalina (which I've done before).

I simply want a system that'll run AAR!

Modern operating system on a USB2 connection? You must be kidding.
The only way to make it work is have two separate HDDs (SSD, obviously) with OC on one of them. You can actually disable most OpenCore functionality by setting the MinKernel/MaxKernel options (kexts will not be loaded if system is older than MinKernel or newer than MaxKernel). On the other hand, I don't think your Catalina setup will suffer if booted via OC.

From what I understand of OCLP boot process, kext are loaded from the OS volumes and not from the OCLP bootloader. OCLP just sets up the UEFI hardware profile for macOS.

My mid 2010 iMac is dual-booting Monterey and High Sierra without issues, with OCLP 0.6.1. I boot into High Sierra when I want to use Target Display Mode. Otherwise I boot into Monterey.

My iMac is upgraded with a Kepler GTX765M graphic card, 1TB of SSD driver and 20GB of RAM. Monterey and High Sierra are install on their separate APFS volumes.

Look into your /EFI/OC/Drivers :)

Great. Further proof this approach (OC boot to one of the systems) is viable.

Monterey and High Sierra are install on their separate APFS volumes.
OK, I'd call it "brave" but this may be the easiest way. However, in this very case this will call for shrinking the existing 500GB volume. 500GB is not a lot to begin with, so it may be more convenient to just add another disk.

Thanks guys, useful info.

Will play around with this when I have a bit of time and report back.

Until then, I'm going to try sneaking under the radar at work with Foxit. Seems mad to need to use AAR when Foxit does the same job. Or they could pay me more and I could just buy a newer machine... :p

Can't use Preview because it doesn't have a 'hand' tool! :(

If you check the misc section on the open core legacy patcher page within the support section they address your issue and have a solution.

the reason this is happening as this model is a legacy (non metal)accelerated Mac.

There’s no need to shrink. APFS volumes are created without any need for repartitioning. It can be removed anytime without affecting other modules. I used it to test out new installs.

My understanding is this is for OCLP bootloader’s use, not macOS. macOS need to load from its file system. That’s why there’s a need for post install patches. So in short, it’s safe AFAIK, to mix different macOS versions.
