Hi everyone, I installed latest Monterey with OCLP 0.61 on a MacBook Air 13" 2011 with Sandy Bridge CPU an Intel HD 3000 GPU. Everything works fine with the Non-Metal GPU Acceleration Patches except one very annoying problem. If I select text within MS Word I get a grey blurry selection and cannot see excatly, what I select. Has anyone a solution for that ? Unfortunately I have to work with MS Word a lot and it really bothers me. The problem doesN't occur within other text editors.
It is worth your while to search this thread first. You'll find a download link to 16.49.

I was prompted to upgrade Safari on my MacBookPro6,2 running Monterey 12.6.3. After the upgrade, my MBP6,2 (patched with OCLP 0.6.1) had issues with various websites. A reboot did not fix the issue. I re-applied the OCLP 0.6.1 post-install patches and the website issues were resolved. Note that OCLP did not prompt me to re-apply the post-install patches after the Safari upgrade.

Since safari is now an inseparable part of macOS, it stands to reason that one will need to reinstall the patches after a standalone security update or standalone safari update.

I replaced Catalina (Dosdude1) with OCLP 0.6.1 Monterey a few days ago. It actually runs very well, compliments to the developers.
I have now discovered an anomaly and a problem:
1. The beach ball does not spin.
2. Photo boot only delivers a black image, iSight camera lights up green and also works in Whats App

If someone would have a solution to Photo Boot it would be great.

Yesterday I built a dual boot with High Sierra. I added a volume and formatted it with Journaled Extended.
Would it work if I set up a boot camp with Windows 7 in this volume?
What do you think?
What is your system config?
On my cMP 5,1 with OCLP 6.1 and Monterey, Photo Booth runs fine. It might be trying to load another camera, check the camera selector. I use a Brio.
Windows 7 was the last BootCamp supported on my system. I upgraded to Windows 10 a long time ago and kept it current. I kept it on the BIOS Boot/Hyrbid MBR scheme on a disk with Mojave, which does live on AFPS.
Neither will boot properly under OCLP. It's option-boot.
I still have a DosDude Catalina, which runs essentially with only the hardware plist patched. Graphics and WiFI/BLE were updated years ago. Cloned that Volume Group and then installed Monterey over it as an upgrade.

Photo Booth is a known OCLP issue for non-metal GPU. See here. On my MBP6,2, Photo Booth video display works in Big Sur, but not Monterey and Ventura (as stated in the issue). Camera works fine in other apps like Zoom.

@TimmuJapan I did not need to re-apply OCLP post-install patches after upgrading Safari in Big Sur, so this was specific to Monterey.

I have just installed Monterey with OCLP on my 2011 MacBook Pro 15". It works great most of the time but I need to use Zoom and I can't get to approve Zoom to use the camera (Either internal or external USB camera). When I first start the meeting, the little green light flashes briefly but ten I get the message that I need to approve Zoom using the camera, when I click on System Prefs to allow it, Zoom doesn't show up on the apps that have requested camera access. I can't get the camera to work in Teams either although it just works in Face Time. Anyone had the same issue and fixed it? It is a non-metal card (Intel HD3000).

Thanks for this info @deeveedee!

I already was about to revert to a older System Backup, because of constant loading problems in Safari 16.3 (manually installed latest build 17614.4.6.11.6 from here) with various websites.

After re-applying Root Patches, all is back to normal again.

Installed 12.6.3 on my MBP 9,2 from previously running Catalina. It works fantastically, thank you to the OCLP team and for the previous help in this thread.

A 10/11 year old laptop still going strong (helped along with an SSD and extra RAM upgrade). I'm grateful that I can now continue receiving security updates.

One slight issue I have noticed is quite a bit of a long wait/hang after entering the login password. It reaches the login screen quickly and then seems to hang for a while after entering my password and then all of a sudden everything kicks into place.

Can't see anything about this specificaly on the OCLP documentation. I've tired searching but the keywords are a little too generic - the only results I'm getting regard slow boots prior to the login screen. Anyone with the same model or experiencing the same thing? Could just be the age of the laptop!

My MBPro 2012 has Monterey on one drive and get a slowish boot, then a kick!
you could bypass the password login and that can speed up things.
all my MacBooks don't have that log in set since i never bring them out anymore.

Hey everyone I have done some research and cannot seem to come to a resolution. I installed Monterey on my 5,1 with my 5870 and once it was installed I put in my rx 580 and it only shows up as 18mb of ram, hardware acceleration was not really working, and whenever I would click the top bar it would turn white for a second. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd start by re-installing OCLP with the RX 580 installed. The installs can change with different graphics cards. Not sure if you need post-install patches or not with this configuration.

I tried doing that and I get the open core boot loader but once I choose install Monterey it gets stuck halfway on the first Apple logo screen (black background white apple logo) that loads up the installer. I can’t seem to make it to the installer on the rx580.

I'm having major issues after updating to Safari 16.3 last night. Lots of lag on websites like macrumors, amazon, YouTube, etc. With videos changing to full screen or minimizing is super slow. But even browsing has serious lag to where Safari is currently unusable. As I type this message out, each keystroke is delayed by about 5 seconds. CPU usage shows 20% just typing. What could be the issue? Thanks!

You need to repatch your system with OCLP root patches again after a stand-alone safari update. It should be fine after you do that.

Thank you so much!! That seems to have fixed it, although I don't quite understand why... it didn't seem to be installing anything different that I could see in the log at least.

You don't need to reinstall Monterey, just rebuild and reinstall OCLP and then install any post-install patches.
