You should have asked before. DRM needs an AMD GCN dGPU, best choice for your system would be the AMD WX4130 - sometimes advertised as Radeon Pro 560 2GB, too (MXM slot type).
In truth, I had already bought it some time ago for another hp notebook to upgrade it, and then I didn't want to spend much, since this iMac is more of a hobby than anything else.
Anyway thanks again

Good evening everyone, I would like to share my experience hoping someone can help me solve the problem. I have a 27 inch Imac Late 2012 and until I had Ventura 13.2 and Open Core 0.6.1 everything worked divinely. Since I updated to 13.3 with Open Core 0.6.2 the real problems started. Unfortunately I was forced to reinstall everything from scratch because after doing both updates, the mac no longer started (and believe me, I really tried them all). I figured it out, but it was really complicated. The problem is not in Ventura 13.3 but in OCL 0.6.2. because (at least in my case) the installation of the graphics card drivers (nvidia kepler intel Intel Ivy Bridge driver) is bound to the deactivation of the AMFI. So far so good, but in doing so two problems have arisen. The first with App Preview which shows me a gray square when I open an image (even if the thumbnail looks great), but only with images in the sense that if I open a pdf file it works great. The second problem (much more serious in my opinion) is that VMWare Fusion does not load any image of any vm and does not allow the creation of any virtual machine (I read on some forums that the same thing happens on Parallel and other similar tools too) . Now I don't want to be argumentative but if everything was fine before, why did they make these changes creating these anomalies?
I hope someone has the patience to read the post and maybe give me some pointers to solve the problem.
Thank you all
Ale

@phaser32, the problem has to be in Ventura 13.3. Put simply, Ventura 13.3 introduced something that made it impossible for either OCLP 0.6.2 or 0.6.1 to make unsupported Macs run. V13.2.1 ran quite well with both OCLP versions. So, the only thing that's changed is V13.3 (and the problem started with the 1st beta). Now, I - as many others are doing - leave the developers to find a solution that would permit V13.3 installation to run smoothly instead of hanging if you don't go strictly according to the steps others have given. I am sure others will give better advice than I have - which is to wait. Mykola et al. have not failed us yet.

Hi,
on MacBook 2012 15", running Mac Ventura 13.2.1 and tested ventura 13.3 too.
the Intel HD 4000 is not stable enough :(, I call it beta. yes it works good but not 100% perfect!
and switching to nvidia 650M is fine and I really could not find an issue yet. but I will report if I find.

A simple example, take a look at this two screenshot between nvidia and intel HD 4000. Guess and spot it?!
nvidia 650m perfect.png
intel hd 4000 is beta.png

and this is why vmware does not work with intel HD 4000 in my opinion, the driver seems broken, but with nvidia 650M is fine.
I am running ventura 13.2.1 on MacBook 2012 15" and I am very happy to OpenCore developers and the friends to their nice job. well done! everyone :)

and yeah in ventura 13.3 neither those would work on vmware and others, as I see developers says because of disabled AMFI, and AMFI cannot be enabled yet in ventura 13.3 using current Opencore legacy 0.6.2 because of Apple's changes in mac Ventura 13.3

I Hope this is useful report ;)

I am still very surprised by seeing many bugs I see in macs recent OS changes. I only notice visual changes with preventing to run new apps to older macs.

I don't know why some people with Intel HD Graphics 4000 are having errors in Preview, here in Air 2012, everything is going well, I recommend reversing the root-patch, restarting, and applying the root-patch again.

I'm one of those people, 2012 MBP (9,2) with AMFI disabled, some apps are not working properly, revert back to 13.2.1 for now all issues are resolved.

After updating my iMac (2011 21,5" with m5100 gpu and i7 2600s cpu) from Monterey to Ventura, I run some Geekbench 6 benchmarks.

Whilst the CPU performance remained the same (about 733 in single core and 2100 in multi core), the GPU performance was significantly better. Increased about 1300 points(!). Does that have to do with the patches applied by the opencore team? Are they also improving performance?
Fyi in Monterey the m5100 needed no patches.

Hello to all,

Successful installation of Ventura 13.4 beta1 on iMac 13,2 (late 2012) and MacBook Pro 5,2 (Mid 2009)

iMac 13,2 installation:

The 13.4 beta 1 was released just about same day as 13.3 (final version). I skipped 13.3 (final) and opted to install 13.4 Beta1 over fully functional 13.3 RC.
Heeding posts from others (including HVDS), I first downloaded the latest Version of OCLP 0.6.3n (currently 4.2.23), and installed this OCLP Version to the disk, then applied root patches. I did not reboot the system before I downloaded OTA Ventura 13.4 beta1. Beta 1 installed without any problems and booted into the login screen. Once logged in I reapplied root patches and restarted the iMac. Reboot was uneventful with full graphic acceleration available; no apparent issues noted. Preview application displayed all compatible files without any problems.

MacBook Pro 5,2 installation:

Downloaded latest OCLP 0.6.3n (3.30.23 at the time) and installed it onto internal SSD (also applied patches).
Without restarting, I downloaded OTA Ventura 13.4 beta1 and let it go through the installation process. On final reboot I was greeted by "black screen". I restarted and booted onto the Monterey partition, reapplied latest OCLP 0.6.3n, then downloaded latest Kernel_Debug_Kit_13.4_build_22F5027f from apple developer website. While still in Monterey I installed KDK for 13.4, then rebooted and selected Ventura 13.4 beta1 as the start-up disk. This time machine booted fully into the login screen, then to desktop, but no drives/partitions were visible and applications would not launch.
I reset PRAM and, on reboot, all the drives/partitions "reappeared"; all tested applications were fully functional. WiFi was fully functional as well, but BlueTooth was inactive. "No hardware found" message when checking with BlueTooth explorer. I reset SMC, and on reboot BlueTooth, WiFi and all applications were fully functional.

A word of caution - Drop Box fails to sync on the C2D based machines running 13,4 beta1; it was fully functional under 13,3 system. There are also reports on the web that Drop Box fails to sync files on other Macs running Ventura.
On my iMac 13,2 running 13.4 beta1 Drop Box functions without issues.

Tremendous work by the developers.

Hope above data may be of help.

Reset PRAM doesn't work for MBP 4,1. Even after that nothing appear on desktop, no drives, applications....... It works with 0.6.2.

Hello, can someone tell me which version of OCLP and macOSX I have to install to make Acrobat Pro work? I currently have OCLP 0.6.2 and Ventura 13.3 installed on an Imac 11,3 with a 3.2 Ghz i3 processor, 8Gb RAM and AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB graphics and I can't get any version of Acrobat Pro to work

I’m curios about the performance with 4GB ram?
Let's just say that system startup takes a little longer, some apps take longer to open than others, in general usage it's close to macOS Mojave, and some things the same as using Catalina but faster than Big Sur and Monterey.

Geekbench GPU test scores have not been reproducible in my experience - just use something like the Valley benchmark for OpenGL scores and MetalBench 2.0 for Metal scores.
Geekbench simply doesn't allow for the GPU to "warmup" (leave low power states) before beginning to measure the speed.

I've also had problems with Message crashing after launch and Preview always displaying a blank windows contents; upon removing the root patch w/ OCLP, rebooting and letting it reinstall, Message works perfectly (maybe the splash screen w/ new features was the culprit?) and Preview works except for JPEG and PNG (so far).
P.S.: OCLP v0.6.3 nightly build as of right now, macOS 13.3

OCLP 0.6.2 - Ventura 13.3

Since the update to 13.3 Rekordbox, my DJ Software refuses to work, it opens up and closes immediately, here is a crash report:

Help very appreciated, can't revert to 13.2.1

Install 13.2.1 on a separate partition.

Other advise, do not update if you are unsure if needed application works or not!

13.3 was a non-starter on my Mac Mini 2012. I kept getting a flashing Menu bar and an unusable Finder. Installed 13.2.1 to a separate volume and migrated my apps and settings across. All seems to work except Mail refuses to start because it needs an upgrade as it seems to have migrated 13.3's libraries across. Is there an easy way to reinstall Mail.app?

I don't know if this has already been said, but there is a problem with the weather app in Ventura.
The app opens but shows/loads nothing.

The way to fix this is to go to Users/<username>/Library and delete the "weather" folder. Restart and then the app should work as intended.

Fyi, in order to see the User/<username>/Library folder (which is a hidden folder) you need to press shift+command+. (the last key in the shortcut is dot).

Not sure about getting Apple's Mail to work, but how about the now free version of Outlook? MS has made it free to download and use, on the App Store, search for Outlook.
