Not sure how technical you want the answer to be, but when checked, OCLP includes NVMeFix.kext in the OpenCore EFI. You can learn more about the kext here. As olad said, if you don't have an NVMe drive, it makes no difference.

For those who have upgraded their NVMe SSDs (and even their SATA SSDs), Macs and macOS can be picky about the manufacturer and model of the SSD. If you're having boot issues after upgrading an SSD and all attempts to fix have failed, it may be worth looking at the SSD. See this and this.
Thank you, thank you! My wife has a/an MBP12,1 (2015) that I replaced its 121Gb Apple SSD with an early NVME SSD from OWC. Every so often it would crash and the error would be the IONVME panic. I sought a solution everywhere and didn't get any, neither from OWC nor on the internet (probably because I didn't do a good search). Now I can revisit her laptop with a fresh insight. Thank you

@olad You are very welcome. It was a painful learning experience on my MBP6,2, requiring me to experiment with multiple SATA SSDs before finding ones that worked. The SSD compatibility issues can be observed for both NVMe and SATA SSDs.

For those who don't mind a more in-depth technical dive (if you don't want to know, don't read this), there is a SATA SSD quirk in the OC config.plist "Kernel > Quirks > ThirdPartyDrives" that is specifically for SATA SSDs (NOT for NVMe SSDs). As indicated in the Dortania Guide, this quirk "Applies vendor patches to IOAHCIBlockStorage.kext to enable native features for third-party drives, such as TRIM on SSDs or hibernation support on 10.15 and newer." There was a bug in this quirk (for Ventura 13.3) that has been fixed in OC 0.9.2.

@olad @deeveedee Thanks for your answers.
Okay, if that doesn't make a difference, then I'll leave it enabled as OCLP preset it for the MacBookPro 11,2.😉

Then I don't know what else it can be that my 15" rMBP, mid 2014 (base model) with macOS 13.3.1 always crashes to the LogIn page (cursor jumps to left-up at the same time).🤷‍♂️😔

Would be very thankful🤗 if someone of you OCLP experts could have a look at the crash reports (see here: #5,377). Maybe you have some ideas for a solution?
Just a thought, did you remember to spoof your laptop after installing OCLP? I myself use an unsupported MBP11,4 (15", 2015); post-install OCLP advised that it be spoofed to MBP14,3 (which is supported by Apple for Ventura). Thereafter it worked flawlessly

13.2.1 with 0.6.5
fix
Remove background works with revblock=auto

13.3.1 and 13.4.1 beta
no issues at all
Only need is to check with Nvidia following rendering with paGes
-import images
-continuinity camera wifi auto detect no cable
hope is fixed
-Ax2 emulator rapid secuirty fix for 2013 model
-Little more optimisation like
photoshop,gimp,openoffice and apple tv

imac2020 optimisation radeon and nividia driver like 2020 models Imac and Mac mini Intel Hd

and thats all folks 100 percentage

For older generation Monterey is way to go even Bigsur is okey it needs more cpu power

maybe Amfi enabled it you could benefit Xcode and Fusion vmware

I know the question has been asked a number of time but does anyone know what the status is with the developers around being able to enable AMFI? Has the release of OpenCore 0.6.6 made any difference.
I’m a little concerned that I’d try and enable it I will then lock myself out of the OS.

How are you posting here? Do you have another Mac?
That kernel panic screen shot doesn't look good. How did you make the OCLP USB OS install memory stick?
If you made it on another Mac, ie., not the target iMac 14,1, you MUST specify the iMac 14,1 in the setting menu, and the disable AMFI item in the Developer's Settings menu before you use the Build and Install to disk (USB OS installer disk). Then, when booting up, on the iMac with the USB startup disk, first reset the PRAM (NVRAM) via holding down the Option+Command+r+p keys at startup (hold them down until you hear the BONG twice).
Then hold down the Option key at boot, and first chose the EFI icon, and then the target SSD or HDD icon.

I haven't really looked at that kernel panic screen shot, so I can't tell what was causing the panic.
Are you sure the hardware is OK? Kernel panics are usually hardware related or basic system software related, serious glitches indeed. I have never seen one on my late 2014 iMac15,1 model.
Try to get us some more information, as it is I have no idea as to how to proceed.

Thank you sir ! And yes I do have another Macbook Air 6,2 which I build the opencore for my iMac 14,2 . I think I've tried multiple solutions but still no avail . Any solutions in terms of downgrading to Monterey ? And also correct me if I'm wrong , you're mentioning to Build & Install opencore but I'm creating macOS installer on my Macbooir Air 6,2 to install on my imac 14,2 .

Then don’t enable it.? Then don’t update just leave it working. As posted there will be 100 odd posts about AMFI will not change anything, follow the discord for more posts about AMFI (not working every other day) and GitHub updates. Keep a old MacOS or a usb to boot if you feel safer I have Big Sur as a fall back to if needed.

I would agree with you but would like to be able to run Parallels or VMware if possible - thought I may have missed something with the release of 0.6.6

😳 Are you sure that this is required - also for 15 "rMBP, mid 2014, model 11.2?
After I did the post install and then checked again with OCLP, was no hint/recommendation to spoof my MBP to MBP14,3!?

From which macOS version is this suggested by OCLP? Because I just checked with OCLP 0.6.5 on my currently used macOS 13.2.1 and there is no hint (see picture).

PS: On a side note, 13.2.1 works fine on my MPB 11.2.

You are right, no spoofing required for your model. My bad.

First, downgrading to any other OS requires having a CCC or Time Machine Backup, and booting from a USB install disk, first wiping the target disk and then doing the OS install, followed by migrating your data back at the end of the install.
Second, of course, you would use the "Build & Install" OCLP menu choice when you make the USB, after the process of writing the OS installer to the USB has finished. But I think you need to use the Settings menu to specify the target disk, ie. the iMac 14,1.
Writing or talking about this is cumbersome, in actual usage, it is a matter of seconds.
Do your best!

Can I use my Macbook Air 6,2 time machine backup ?

At the end of the OS install on the iMac 14,1, there will be a chance to import data from another mac, a CCC backup disk, or a connected Time Machine disk. Using the MBA6,2 Time Machine may work (or not). The only way to find out is to try connecting that disk when prompted. I suspect it will work, but some apps like Onyx may need replacing. If it works, the internet set up will save you some time and effort. Worth a try. I guess you don't have a backup from the iMac? Make sure to do one (or 2) after you get everything working.

You can restore a lot of your files, but obviously you can't restore your system from one machine to another.

I'm not sure but I get the impression that you may not have understood what "Build and Install OpenCore" actually means. Do I get you wrong?

Obviously the poster didn't understand that part. For all of us, in the beginning, the sequence of the procedures required can be confusing. After you have done it several times, it gets easier. Patience is required, and explaining the sequence required can be difficult, so I may have confused him. If so, apologies.

Once built OCLP on your machine just choose to install on main (internal hdd/ssd) or external one asb USB HDD/SSD or stick. I have always installed OCLP on main one and I've never had problems also with 13.3.1 (0.6.2 boot and 0.6.6. root patch) that has no issues and it boots all systems from mountain lion to sierra (disconnetting calldigit lite T3 cause from ML to EC the OS is unsupported by OS) and all others.
Once you boot you can patch only the disk or partition in use.
I don't like to be USB stick slave.

I have a 2016 macbook pro 15 and my computer will boot up. However, when i try to login, the loading screen freezes one third of the way in after i enter in my password. i believe that that the RSP messed up my mac. i have tried creating a usb driver and installing the macos ventura update to fix this. However, i always get an error saying that there was a problem with the installer when i try to update my mac and i get a volume mismatch error on the other mac i am using. i would appreciate any help. i am trying to save my data but i might just have to wipe everything. My fault, but very frustrating still. Will remember to disable automatic updates next time.

Also when i try to download macos ventura on opencore, i select 13.3.1 but only 13.3 ever downloads. Is there a way to get 13.3.1? That might fix my problems as well.

Edit: 22E252 is downloaded but i selected 22E261

From the Big Sur thread:
HD3000 VDA decoder back on Big Sur:

After installing the latest High Sierra version of the AppleGVA.framework and the latest Catalina version of the AppleGVACore.framework, a reboot and this command line

Code:
defaults write com.apple.coremedia hardwareVideoDecoder -string force

I got finally this working on Big Sur:

Thanks to EduCovas (his recipe using AppleGVACore, too), @jackluke for his incredible help and patience and finally @webg3 who reminded me using the force command....

If your want to check this yourself on an iMac with either TS2 patches through OCLP or with an NVIDIA metal dGPU follow this recipe to modify the root system volume. Of course you need to apply the chmod/chown commands to the both frameworks placed in /S*/L*/P*F* :)

Is there any chance such an approach could work to bring Airplay (at least audio?) back to an iMac 12,2 on Ventura? It would be nice to get Airplay back without having to do the BT/WiFi card upgrade. Thanks...

Apple seeded macOS 13.4 RC3 (22F66) to developers
So far so good, wake up from sleep issues seems to have settled down.

Apple TV still does not play movies; Safari YouTube+NetFlix streaming continues to work. Pages/Numbers quit while inserting image (jpg); Preview continues to open images (jpg). Using OCLP 0.6.6.

Has anyone noticed since going to Monterey or Ventura the WiFi seems slower than it used to be? Is OCLP loading an older driver that supports or slows down the WiFi chip? I'm using an iMac 2012 21". Ventura with OCLP 0.6.5 works fine on this iMac, but just wondering about WiFi speeds. They seem half as fast they used to be in High Sierra.
