I share the same problems when using only OCLP (any version) with the latest updates, be it Big Sur, Monterey and Ventura.

Solution: add some kexts that OCLP doesn't have

AGPM-Override.kext
CPUFriend.kext
CPUFriendDataProvider.kext
HibernationFixup.kext
WhateverGreen.kext
Are these a) easy to find/add and b) are later versions of OCLP likely to include them? If so, I'll just wait.
Web3g's suggestion is in response to my : "...every few days I come in and find my Mac unresponsive with the keyboard hot and have to power-cycle to regain access."

I believe Bogdan is about removing an installed beta, not the request to download one.

I have read through out the forum, but still nnot clear for me. A macbook pro mid 2015 15" runs fine Ventura? Anyone with that mac? Thanks a lot.
Same here! I own MBP 2015 13'' and I don't find any information about not working features. I would be very grateful if someone would write a list of non-working functions on my Mac! I want to upgrade from Monterey to Ventura to refresh my computer a bit. Is that a good idea? Will the mac run slower after that, or will the performance remain the same?

Well this is interesting, this morning in finder I found files that were not there last night. I deleted the .beta migrated file, restarted and now everything is back to normal. Thanks for all the help, and I probably will not do that dumbell trick again. Thanks ron

So: I would say that the performance, which in my iMac 14,2 (late 2013) had already improved dramatically with Monterey, has improved further with macOS 13 Ventura.
In my iMac everything works (Stage Manager, Live Text, Remove Background, Continuity Camera, etc.) and even the third-party apps work better; First of all Adobe Photoshop, but also AutoCAD 2023.
However, I deliberately stopped at Ventura 13.2.1 since many things have changed in the System since 13.3 and a series of problems have arisen which for some have not yet been resolved, not even with the latest OCLP 0.6.8 Nightly.
Note: I'm using the Beta 4 version of OCLP AMFIPass which adapts AMFI to my iMac (AMFI must be enabled for Macs running versions of Ventura prior to 13.3).
Obviously, to use OCLP AMFIPass Beta you need to follow the instructions found in the link that contains the list of all OCLP versions (Near the "Latest" link)
Ultimately, is it worth upgrading to Ventura? Absolutely yes if you have a Mac from late 2013 onwards and if you are tenacious in trying to overcome any obstacles, by reading a lot in this Forum and in the Discord pages dedicated to Ventura in unsupported Macs.
Good luck :)

I'm still looking for a solution to the pages error when i try to import a image. I bring the error to "chatgpt" and it says the origin of the problem:

"The report indicates that the Pages application has experienced an error and crashed. Thread 7 of the report indicates that the error occurred in the dispatch queue "com.apple.root.user-initiated-qos" due to an "EXC_BAD_INSTRUCTION" (illegal instruction). Below is a list of the threads in the report and the function where they got stuck.
Thread 7 got stuck in the "libBNNS.dylib" function, which is part of the BNNS (Basic Neural Network Subroutines) library used for neural network operations. There seems to be a specific issue with executing a convolution in this thread."

Seems that the problem is located in the Basic Neural Network Subroutines. ¿Any idea to solve the trouble?

I have uninstalled Ventura and went back to Monterey. 50% of the time it would not boot up, it would get stuck at the start bar. If I turned off the Mac and restarted, it would reboot OK. It's too annoying and unstable to go through this. I hope that Sonoma will be easier to upgrade to.

Using OCLP yes. I have a 11,4 mid 2015 MBP 15.4” and I’m on 13.4 with OCLP 0.6.7 and working great!
@trifero I also have an MBP11,4. BUT, it did not work well until it was spoofed to MBP14,3 - there was a reason given by the developers of OCLP about a year or so ago why one had to spoof the 11,4 and present it as 14,3... something about support but I forget. In any case, every time I do an update, I first unpatch the boot, reboot, do the macOS update, reboot, then repatch the boot. I am using MBP11,4 spoofed to seem as MBP14,3 to macOS, and I am using the OCLP AMFI pass beta 4 (that allows me to use VMWare Fusion to run Windows 11), on Ventura 13.5 Beta (Build 22G5059d). I haven't tried to use the 11,4 without spoofing; perhaps other have had success without it, I don't know.

Installed Ventura 13.4.1 on a MacPro 5,1 with AMD RX580 using OCLP 0.6.7 with only one problem found so far.

In short Topaz app (Sharpen AI or Photo AI for example) or ON1 NoNoiseAI detect the RX580 but do not use the GPU when processing images (e.g. the work load runs on the Xeons). Note with MacOS 12.6 using MartinLo's package these apps use the GPU for their processing.

Geekbench 6 appear to be using the GPU with Metal.

I'm using the default OCLP configuration. Is there something I can do to get the image processing apps to use the GPU for acceleration?

Sorry if this is a dumb question - but how does one re-enable live text on Mid 2012 MacBook Pro (Ivy Bridge) running 13.4.1 and OCLP 0.6.7. Live text used to work but broke at some stage, and I noticed that OCLP 0.6.7 is meant to restore functionality, but I can't seem to work out how!

Does the in-built reset function (System Settings > General > Transfer or reset) work as expected after OCLP-ing an unsupported Mac? I want to clear all my crap off ready for my eldest to take my MBP to university.

Finally!!! I had this too, and wondered that nobody else is having those issues. However it resolved magically „by itself“ recently. Things the might help: NVRAM reset during OCLP boot, install latest OCLP and macOS releases. Do you also have two volumes (Monterey/Ventura) on one Partition?

Interesting question. I've followed closely this thread and the previous ones for Monterey & Big Sur. I don't recall anyone mentioning it but could be wrong.

Regarding the menubar, there is a new setting in the latest OCLP 0.6.3n:

I should have read the changelog more carefully... always necessary when using nightlies, my fault!
Installed 13.4.1 over 13.4 on internal SSD of my MBP5,2. Using OCLP 0.6.7 release for EFI and post-install patching.

One problem met: left part of menu bar missing and applications won't launch from dock. Reminded me of a situation back in April with the MenuBar2Beta.

Booted in safe mode*, then I could launch Terminal. Entered defaults delete -g Amy.MenuBar2Beta, as suggested at the time, and subsequent normal boot found menu bar and dock intact.

So could be that MenuBar2 is not compatible with 13.4.1, at least in my case (I had tried OTA and then several reinstalls from USB installer).

Anyway happily running the latest released macOS on this now 14 years old machine - thanks to developers!

(* have Shift pressed during power on an keep pressed until login screen is there)
