And... the 1.0.1 nightly prompted me for an OTA update to a 7:52 am version - that new function really surprised me LOL!OCLPv1.0.1 release is available. The OTA OCLP updater is nice.
I'm not quite sure, whether I get this: I downloaded 1.0.1, build and installed OpenCore, reinstalled the Post-Install Root Patches. Pages still crashes. Did I miss something exciting in the startup process?EDITED-MODIFIED
HI. I think it's due to an OCLP 1.0.0 issue with Ventura.
In fact, if you go and read the OCLP CHANGELOG.md file, you will see that version 1.0.1 already exists which modifies CoreImage if OCLP is used with Ventura.
Of course, now you can download the OCLP 1.0.1 official version
I also think that after installing 1.0.1, restarting the Mac and enabling EFIBoot on startup (Option button at Gong chime sound), you need to reinstall the OCLP 1.0.1 Post Install Patch.
But why don't you install Sonoma? ;-)
the same problem, and i dont know how solve it, OCLP 1.0.1 version, you solve it?Edit I was running Ventura 13.4.1 on a 27 inch iMac late 2017 17,1 previous OCLP was 0.6.8 , I have not upgraded to Sonoma only OCLP was updated to 1.0.1
Yes, On this point. Will need USB 2.0 or better hub. Also after the OCLP update to 1.01 do I still require a USB 2.0 Hub for mouse and keyboard connection until root patches are installed?
Well, I got ambitious and decided to do a backup image of the Boot Camp partition and completely wipe the SSD. Now I am creating a fresh Ventura USB installer through OCLP 1.0.1 so I can freshly start over and re-install Ventura, restoring from the Time Machine backup I made this morning. After that, I'll get to work on the Boot Camp partition, re-install Windows 11 and then restore my system image.I might give it a shot, especially since I can do a time machine backup. I just don't want to risk breaking the Boot Camp partition again; but maybe if I just wipe the Mac OS partition on the SSD I'll be safe.
So far so good! Ventura re-installed with none of those lock-ups, and now I am restoring my files and settings via the Time Machine backup.Well, I got ambitious and decided to do a backup image of the Boot Camp partition and completely wipe the SSD. Turns out it was actually the Boot Camp partition that was giving me those startup problems I mentioned! It's a good thing I did an image backup of the old Boot Camp system, because I ended up removing the one I was starting. I'm probably just going to set up a PC laptop at my workplace to use one of our work programs with, still use said MacBook Pro's Ventura system for running Apple Configurator 2 at said workplace, and use my Dell Precision M6800 laptop for my home Windows needs. So far so good! Once that is finished in six hours, I'll create the Boot Camp partition, do that Windows 10 to 11 install, and see if I can restore the system image I created this morning before wiping the SSD.
You read the OCLP docs about keeping the OpenCore and the Microsoft boot loader in different FAT partitions?Turns out it was actually the Boot Camp partition that was giving me those startup problems I mentioned! No I didn't. But the Boot Camp partition was causing a few other related issues, like locking up the label printer I use at work ("Error printing picture." "Oh well! That's that!"). So having an actual PC at work for my Windows needs will be a better option anyways. You read the OCLP docs about keeping the OpenCore and the Microsoft boot loader in different FAT partitions?
Just a hint: There are a lot of people here willing to help, but first you ought to read the essentials. Go to the original post and the official OCLP page, if that's what you're intending to use.How is macOS Ventura 13.6 on
- 2006 MBP 15"
- 2007 iMac 20"
- 2008 MBP 15"
- 2010 MBP 13"
- 2011 MBP 13"
- 2012 iMac 27"
- 2013 MBA 13"
- 2014 iMac 21.5"
- 2016 MB 12"
I'm asking opinions from actual users of the listed hardware how it runs on macOS Ventura 13.6.Just a hint: There are a lot of people here willing to help, but first you ought to read the essentials. Go to the original post and the official OCLP page, if that's what you're intending to use.
IKR.
Is it still advised to do a fresh install from USB when upgrading to Sonoma - I hear some have been successful updating to Sonoma from Ventura using the system preferences software update - is this possible when upgrading from Monterey?
Also after the OCLP update to 1.01 do I still require a USB 2.0 Hub for mouse and keyboard connection until root patches are installed?
Currently running OCLP 0.6.8 with Ventura 12.6.9 on a 2010 5,1 Mac Pro
Thanks all
Did you use OCLP to make that OS install USB? Some have said that is required now, although others have said using the older Install media scripts works along with installing the OCLP EFI to the USB.Running into an issue here with OCLP 1.0.1
Laptop is a mid 2015 Macbook Pro i7/16gb running Monterey 12.7 with no prior OC or 3rd party efi
Put Ventura 13.5.2 & oc efi on the usb & boot efi from usb & Install Ventura & it shows the recovery console on the macbook every single time
I can reboot & got back to Monterey on the laptop with no issues & I checked and disabled Find my mac
Any steps I'm missing here ?
Yes, I used OCLP, though I had already downloaded Ventura installer earlier & it was lying my Applications folderDid you use OCLP to make that OS install USB? In you case, I would try using a new 16GB USB and the latest 1.1.0n from the URL below and and download 13.6.
